@@lesliehorwinkle👍 Amen Leslie. 442 was Superior Quality & Styling over Chevelle, as the Grand Prix was in Comparison with the monte carlo. Good eye! 🧐 ✌
Thanks Steve. Being from Lansing Michigan these cars were all over the place. I had a 68 Cutlass, 2 Delta 88's , one 70 and a 72, a 98. I can't imagine what it would like to try to park one now.
Man! Back in the early 80s I had a 72 cutlass supreme with that same engine! 350 rocket with a shift kit, it was a beast! Mine had the headers with dual exhaust. Boy now I wish I have that car again! If I only knew then what I know now! I definitely would have kept it! Great seeing you doing better Steve.🙏😎👍Great video!
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀👍😎. Good afternoon Professor Steve , am hard hearing so it took me to fine you on the tube, am glad from the bottom of my heart that you are up and about ! You go Professor !
Beautiful 442 Steve, thanks for sharing it with us. Blessings on you as you continue in your road to recovery. It seems very apparent that you are making big progress.
They had that distinctive rumble to them. I remember as a kid hearing one come down the street, I would say, "here comes an Olds", before I ever saw it. 😅 Thanks, Steve. I hope you are well. 🙏
Tough to tell if it's a real 442 as in 1972 as the VIN doesn't really tell you and there were various appearance packages to "make" it a 442. Not correct. It's not "after 1979" as the 403 Oldsmobile V8 (RPO code "L80") was only used from 1977-1979. We got the VIN (from the HOC website), we win: 3 for Oldsmobile, G for Cutlass, 87 for two door hardtop coupe, K for 350 CID V8 with four barrel, 2 for 1972 model year, R for Arlington, TX assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Arlington plant still operates today and since the end of the 1996 model year, it has produced SUVs. No tag, can't brag, but possible code 65 Flame Orange exterior paint (or painted to look like it). Oldsmobile always made solid cars and their engines are extremely reliable. I like them as much as Pontiacs, however, I only like an Oldsmobile engine in Oldsmobile and a Pontiac engine in a Pontiac. No "Olds-miacs" for me.
Looks like the cutlass that I bought from a good friend back in highschool for $1000 back in 1981 and me and my cousin did alot of work to it, after all of the work that me and my cousin did to it, I took it to the atco speedway in Atco new jersey and it ran low 12's in the 1/4 mile without nitrous and I was hooked on cuttlass's ever since then, thanks Steve for sharing this with me , it brought back a lot of memories, I truly appreciate it 😎👍
That gold oil filler is the first tell of an Olds 350, the Pontiacs were light blue with an two piece water pump, and the Chevy, well we've seen those all over the place.
The 442 is the most underrated muscle car out there. And the Olds 350 4bbl is one of the most underrated engines. Olds motors were very robust, and could take a tremendous beating without injury. Lots of torque.
Great presentation Steve. I love the 2nd gen 442 styling, beautiful car, and the 350 will save a bit on gas as well as weight and still get you down the road rather quickly and in style. Beautiful car.
Very nice car Steve. I have a 72 Cutlass S. I’ve had it since 1987. I’ve owned a 73 76 cutlass and 75 442. Some men are Baptist Others Catholic .. Glad you’re back.
She's a beaut Steve, don't underestimate the 350 rocket. My 70 supreme came with #6 heads on the 350. Working for GM back in the mid 80s, I was able to acquire a factory manual that shows this year had 10.5 compression ratio. she's a little beast. Still own the car which was my sister's first and my second. 350/350 a/c bucket seats vinyl top. Glad your feeling better. Subbed.
What a great color! I could be wrong but I seem to remember Steve once mentioning the reasoning or origin behind vinyl tops. I can’t decide whether cars look better with them or a solid color. Anyway, thanks for another great video, Steve!
I think the origin of the vinyl top came from nascar racing. when they would take the hood off the car. They would put it on the roof so they installed a vinyl top on it so it didn’t scratch up the top of the roof.
appears to have had front collision damage. Front bumper doesn't fit well an the right side and well as hood fitment. Can you confirm my suspisions? Beautiful Olds!!!!
Sending strength and health! We❤you Steve!
Steve, you're sounding and looking really good!! Keep up the great work!
Great to see you back in the saddle and doing what you do best, Steve!

Thank you UA-cam algorithm for leading me back to Steve! 🤘😐🤘
I love the extreme Coke bottle shape of the Cutlass. Those rear haunches are Over the Top! Great job, Steve.
That is a nice piece

So happy your back Steve, the cars you are describing is so cool and hopping someday I can buy one!!!
Reminds me of the one from demolition man. That's when I really fell in love with this model.
Good info, plainly told and explained. Thanks, Steve!
Thanks Steve! All the best to you, sir. Have a California born black 72 'S' ram air u code automatic since 1986 so this is great! Keep em coming
Great presentation Steve. I love the 2nd gen 442 styling, beautiful car, and the 350 will save a bit on gas as well as weight and still get you down the road rather quickly and in style. Beautiful car.

Glad you're back brother! Love the videos
Love it! My 1st car was an orange 1972 442 with a black vinyl top and interior.
Very nice car Steve. I have a 72 Cutlass S. I’ve had it since 1987. I’ve owned a 73 76 cutlass and 75 442. Some men are Baptist Others Catholic .. Glad you’re back.

Thanks Steve.
Great Job.👍
Looks great. Buick and Olds love them both and Pontiac
I had the stationary wagon flavor, a cutlass with the 350 and an 3 speed auto. Not a 4 speed. My favorite car ever.
She's a beaut Steve, don't underestimate the 350 rocket. My 70 supreme came with #6 heads on the 350. 1970 was the last year for high compression at GM.
Thanks Steve, another great video. 👍👍🇨🇦
Fantastic car! Really improving Steve! 👍
We used to say, during that time period, that Oldsmobiles at idle sounded like they had no exhaust valves.
that is a beautiful Cutlass wow!
Great video Steve!
I wouldn’t mind visiting this dealership!

Great vid
Wow what a cool car incredible
Go Steve go!
lol steve got the alfalfa hair on the back great to see you steve
I never saw a spoiler on a Cutlass outside of the Rallye 350 now everybody got one.
Im 32 and this is my dream car. Would love a w30 or just a 72 442
nice car. nice junkyard crawl.
Years ago I had a buddy that had an olds F85 with the 442 option. I don't remember what year it was though. I've never seen another one.
Ya Steve !😊
I saw that at car show in Dedham
How much $????
You the best on car 🚗👍🙏
This is not a 442. The second 4 is for a four speed manual transmission.
Olds put Automatics in the 442 starting in 1965.
I like that you don't mention a power rating or whether it's a turbo 350 or 400 Steve lol
appears to have had front collision damage. Front bumper doesn't fit well an the right side and well as hood fitment. Can you confirm my suspisions? Beautiful Olds!!!!
