Id like a lot more videos like this, investing in the really experimental psych music is a very good move.
+yaboii samwell
YES! I totally second this!!!! More psychedelic rock, experimental rock, and noise rock Reverb videos!!!!
HEAR HEAR! No more run of the mills bluesmen and metal boys please
king gizzard in reverb!
Japan has such a cool psych scene. This guy reminds me of the guitarist of Flower Travellin Band.
FTB are so sick.
Very sick indeed. Satori got me into heavy psych
Hideki Ishima is a great guitarist too. One of the best of his time in Japan I'd say.
FTB is still my favourite japanese band
You know any active Japanese psych bands besides Kikagaku Moyo?
noinoi noi check out their label, Guruguru Brain on bandcamp. some dope Japanese and other bands from Asia on their label. I like Dhidalah who plays heavy stoner-ih psych stuff
After listening to their studio recordings I finally got to see them live in San Diego.
A lot heavier than I expected, not that I'm complaining. : )
I can't believe that i have his signature after concert in Poland. Such a seemingly trifle fills my life with powerful inspiration. When you devote your life to music, such things are very important to you. It doesn't matter what your guitar or effects pedals are, just play, just merge with the instrument. Just feel these things by your mind and soul.
This is what a rock guitarist should be.
He looks like how Jimmy page looks now, but then younger.
Underrated comment
Have had the pleasure of seeing Kikagaku Mayo live 2x now and it is a transcendent experience. Raw talent.
I nabbed this guy's pick from when he dropped it on stage after a gig in Bristol
Impressive.
Absolute madlad.
He just wrote to me. He wants it back. 🙃
His set of pedals is soo awesome!
Kikagaku Moyo are the best band going at the moment! HANDS DOWN!!
Wow loving that delay
fuck ya love love love this band, quite a pleasant surprise!
now do King Gizzard :)
OB3YTH3GIANT King Gizz is a must
king gizz pedals are so simple yet they get so much done
Oh, you mean Thee Oh Sees?
Yes please!!! I have to hear their secrets!
@@rolandramirez4557 oh, you mean Tera Melos?
Love this band so much
Saw them last night and he's added a Z-Vex Fuzz Factory to his board as well as another wah. They were amazing as always.
Saw them recently for the first time in SD! They were absolutely amazing. I'm definitely not missing the next time they come around.
Love the Skreddy Echo. My favorite delay pedal.
Awesome!!!
Just bought my first delay. I could 100% use tips on using it with fuzz
In my personal experience just play around with the order of your pedals till
You like the sound but I myself have an old big muff and a tc flashback and I like to put the delay after my fuzz, just how I like it but def play around and see what works for you
Great to see somebody besides myself using some Danelectro stuff!
Saw the live show on KEXP a couple of weeks ago, their live performance is much better than the studio stuff. They lean towards an amon duul II type of sound.
Love this band
Nice
Very shoegazy! Love it! Also reminds me of Boards Of Canada
I love these Japaneses psychadelic speed freaks. They actually do proper psych, unlike all these rubbishy Brooklyn bands.
aussies do good psych too
Hooray for Earth disagrees.
thought this was shoegaze
Agreed
Yuval Legendtofski Australia has an amazing psych scene as well
this video inspired me to get a tape echo
His band is dope! Love it!
This man is so pretty
he has beautiful fingeez
I need those fuzz sounds.
big muff is cheap
that karma suture 🤘
bummed I got into these guys only AFTER they played their last show, wish I had caught them in Brooklyn last year. One of the best psych bands of the decade! Fans of Moyo should check out the Japanese band Ghost also ..."Hypnotic Underworld" and "Snuffbox Immanence" are incredible psych LP's.
I had no clue who they were and I happened to see them at their last US show back in 2022. I'm so happy to have gotten to experience that and now they are one of my favorite contemporary bands.
1:50 The pedal Vangelis used on the Blade Runner score?
Very likely. That pedal is a volume pedal and used in this way often. Sounds like ambient space music
danelectro should re release the back talk ... they go for crazy money now
Anders Panders same for the sitar swami
They are doing just that at the NAMM this year.
Happy now?
良い
Paarfekt!
We share a musical ideal, my wheel house, well done. Same sounds here, not the same hair, but, same sounds, LOL !
can some one list these pedals? I can't find what is that Green Pedal (on it written - Harmonio Mezmarizer ) or smth like that.
Maybe too late but the green pedal is the Catalinbread Pareidolia. He also has a Catalinbread Germanium Karma Suture (pink), EHX Big Muff, Cornell fuzz, Carlin compressor/fuzz, Skreddy Echo, Danelectro Back Talk, Boss Rocker Volume, EHX Nano Holy Grail, Xotic EP Booster, TC Polytune and some kind of wah.
He's cute.
hey you should include all the units he talks about in the freaking description please.
Ivan Liptak so there is this search engine called google
Japanese psychedelic music is the shit!!
Does anyone know how you would get that amazing sound on that Boss PV-1 Rocker Volume? That pedal is hard to
find, so is there any other way to emulate that psychedelic sound? Thanks :)
The Boss pedal is just a volume pedal, used here to do swells. You will get the same results with any volume pedal, or even just by using the volume pot on your guitar. I think the critical component for the tone we hear is the red compressor/fuzz pedal (a big muff will get you close), followed by a healthy dose of delay and reverb.
@@simonr7097 Any Big Muff? I mean, the Big Muff Pi USA original 2018? I don't know. Because the V5 is too expensive. Fuck! xD
@@jnezna Pick the Big Muff that you like most, don't worry so much about sounding exactly like that clip. The recent re-releases by EHX (op-amp, green, triangle) are great and give boutique pedals a run for their money.
How to ya get the tone @1:50 ??
Boss pv-1 Rocker volume
I need his shirt
Same. I wanna know where to get one
Yeah what shirt is he wearing
Great at msking noise
I don't love big muff, liked it enough to buy one but I returned it. I'm not a rock god tho
guitar model :O???
2:26. So this is big muff...
if you are looking for that kind of psychedelic guitar sounds check out Vibravoid - that´s the original....
OmarIsuf?
Try the humble old Boss ME50. I just can't kick mine off my board. Purely for the reverse delay and exp pedal controlled ring mod and pitch shifting (the modulated reverb is interesting too) . Current second hand pricing is WAY cheaper than the danelectro. Obviously it is surrounded by other pedals to cover the things it isn't so good at.
What kind of jimmy page is this ?
The Beatles 2nd part -.-
Give him that Korg Miku pedal and see what happens. 🤢
i thought he played one at the beginning...anyway, great video!
I can't tell what he's saying half the time but I love his playing
He speaks very good english for being a japanese though
I'll never ever sell my Danelectro Reverse Delay
isn't this shoegaze?
+gopher001
Kinda. Kinda shoegaze-y, kinda post rock-ish, but still very much psychedelic rock. His band is kinda hard to put in a single genre. They're even a little noise rock-ish.
Me 1st
Someone get him a big muff nano
Зилкова уже подделали. Ушлые какие
Это Джимми Пейдж вообще-то
you look like you don't like it
Amazing music! Should be arrested for fashion crime. Either the shirt or the trousers... Not together! Take away the effects and he's just playing happy birthday. Easy!
