    Great Video I'm glad I found your channel. I really struggled with the uke plugged in. I had a passive pick up it was a huge mismatch for my looper. How to record a uke would be a great topic. Congrats on your album.

      Glad the videos are helping and that you enjoy my album! I like the passive pickup in my ukulele but i supplement it with the EQ pedal for both live performance and recording - I’ll definitely take your suggestion on how to record uke for my next video, keep an eye out for it and thanks again!

    This is a most wonderfully informative video - thank you! I'm partial to a typical rock sound and love your use of distortion (Blues Driver). This was my introduction to a Loop pedal, and it is fascinating!!
    I have just purchased a Flight Centurion, tenor, solid body, electric ukulele with humbucking pickups. It has no battery-powered preamp. Might you be able to tell me if I would need the EQ effect pedal, to add power please? Or would I be OK plugging straight into distortion, wah-wah and volume pedals as is please? Thank you so much for bringing this to us. You are very clear and concise in your teaching. Best wishes. (Liked and Subscribed)

      Thanks so much for your support and kind words! Glad the video is helpful to you - i plan on making more pedal sample videos in the future! So humbuckers are inherently stronger pickups and in addition to that your ukulele has two humbuckers so you probably won’t need a preamp to boost your signal into those other pedals. Have fun! That sounds like a great setup!

      @@CTrietschUkuleles Oh wow!! I can't thank you enough for your kind reply! Your taking the time to respond is appreciated beyond words - thank you so much. I'm so looking forward to exploring all of your other videos and would welcome anything and everything you might make in the future.
      As a retired elementary school teacher, I want to say you are one EXCELLENT teacher. There is a massive range in style and quality when it comes to instructional things on UA-cam. You are clear and concise and speak so clearly and well. Your camera work is the great. You cover your intended information so very well. You're a pleasure to watch and listen to and you set an example of how instructional videos ought to be.
      Thank you again and warmest regards from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

      @@camdix3250 thank you again, so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me that, made my day! I’m a teacher too and its fun to teach in this format although challenging for sure, glad it is making a difference though! Best of luck with your playing and your effects pedal set up, let me know how it goes! 😄

    Thanks for the useful video! I have Boss RC-5 loop and it looks the output of my uke is too low to feed it (and the output reaching my amp is weak enough). Does it mean I really have to get preamp between my uke and the pedal? Like that Fishman Pro EQ. Or perhaps Boss AD-2 or Joyo AD-2, if you have any comments on those?

      It sounds like an outboard preamp is exactly what you need! I only have experience with the fishman pro EQ II - have had mine for over 10 years now and although its not glamorous, its done its job on stage and in recording studios, both by itself and on my pedal board so I’ve never really needed to try anything else! I’m sure the others you mentioned would work well too though, best of luck!

    Man I’ve had the worse luck with the TC pedal I have. It’s a reverb pedal, not the one you have, and it just adds so much noise to the chain that I basically can’t use it. Do you ever use flange and chorus at the same time? I have the old fashioned phase and chorus as separate pedals, and never can figure out if I wanna phase my chorus, or chorus my phase.

    • @CTrietschUkuleles
      @CTrietschUkuleles  16 днів тому +1

      Oh jeez, yea sounds like your reverb pedal is an issue, I’m sorry thats happening to you! So a flange pedal is the combination of chorus and phase already so you generally don’t need to use a chorus pedal at the same time as flange because you can just adjust the chorus knob on the flange pedal. But having a seperate chorus and phase shifter on at the same time gives you the flange effect like you’re saying! The pedal order changes the sound but neither way is “correct” just different flavors - try experimenting both ways with different settings until you can dial in the sound you’re looking for! Best of luck!
