For photos app, have they allowed the ability to see hidden images from an album? My albums are useless cuz it doesn't show me all the images I want because they're hidden. It's annoying when I have images hidden that belong in different catagories, but the ONLY way to view them is by leaving my organized albums and seeing them all piled into one location. Not all hidden photos are equal. I don't understand Apple's oversight on this.
I am excited about the new features! However, there is one improvement that I wish Apple would've made to messages: the ability to add and remove people from group texts without having to create a whole new group text!
You’re such a wonderful presenter of technical information. I’m a seasoned Mac user (30+ years) but your unpatronising explanations are probably the best on UA-cam. I’m surprised you’ve not been snapped up by a large media company or even Apple Europe. Thanks for all your hard work behind the scenes and testing the beta models. I tried using beta version years ago, but they just interfered with workflow and my Apple ecosystem. Thanks again you ‘talented human being’. Si ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Again, a great display of what a tech video on UA-cam should be like, imo. You tell it well, concise and knowledgable. Thank you. A feature that I was hoping would come in IOS 18 was the possibility to clean up camera roll better. I am always over my iCloud limit and I am having a hard time finding the largest files, the double files and the already backupped files. I can delete an image in my Photo's app, but it will not give me iCloud space back.
Face ID for individual apps at last 🙏🏼 I literally have my life, bank details and shoe size written in my notes. With the amount of phone snatching here on London’s streets this is very useful for extra security in the event your phone is snatched.
In messages the plus sign (where you add pictures n such) should 100% have a “contacts” option. Drives me crazy to have to leave messages, find the contact, then send it from there instead of just quickly adding it like any other attachment
By far and away the best of these ten features for me is the integration of Calendars with Reminders. This will allow me to view my Reminders in a calendar format which is the one thing that currently can't be done in Reminders and it drives me nuts. Thank you Apple.
Something they’re still missing is a toggle option to have it automatically create reminders or calendar events that coincide with it. I use the calendar app to keep track of upcoming events. The reminders help me make sure that I do it.
You are a master communicator , thank you for taking the time to explain in a way that makes learning fun and easy ..I agree with the comment below that you should be snapped up by a large media company, but then , you would not be here for us ;) keep up the great work !

I LOVE the reminders and calendar integration the most!! I’m also going to enjoy the text send later feature! I also hate the native email app (I use the gmail app) and saw they are going to upgrade some of it, so hopefully that will be an improvement as well!
I have the beta version and love every update! You didn’t mention the Password app - this is the best app for me because I can separate personal, work, and family password as needed. I no longer have to pay for a third party app.
I am most interested in being able to create routes in maps. Share them save them bring them up maybe modify them. I’d also like the ability to know which roads are unpaved. Does iOS 18 offer any of these abilities?

Are you sending via email or iMessage? Email is basically foolproof but iMessage can be unpredictable when sending to Android. You can try creating a new conversation just between you and the other person before you try again. A lot of this should be fixed in iOS 18 when Apple is adding RCS support. RCS is the improved successor to basic SMS texting (green texts) and until iOS 18 has only worked on Android.
I was really hoping to be able to take photos and video using both forward and rear facing cameras at the same time. You can do it with TikTok and Snapchat but not available without an app.

The one thing I missed since day 1 has been the ability to automatically select a different EQ setting based on the chosen output. My Bluetooth speaker for instance requires a different EQ then my Airpods or motorcycle helmet speakers. Now I have to change EQ every time I have a different device selected. With calendar/reminders, I wonder how well this will work with voice control, which I often use for reminders when I’m driving. Also, I need my calendar to merge on my iphone to Outlook, which it does at the moment, I hope it still does after the update, as I need to view my calendar on my Windows PC.
Missed: the ability to control the size of the widgets in the Control Center view is also available on the Home Page with widgets… Also FINALLY: Calendar/ Reminder integration!!
My iPhone freezes at will since IOS17 landed. It's complicated to unfreeze it without initiating an ER call. Any info that gives us hope they will fix this?
One thing that annoys me: when you enter text you slack have this option to detect text in a camera view. *this misses a freeze button!* I find it really hard to mark the specific portion i need with a shaking camera image. Additionally of the magnifying glass would allow to select text in the frozen image. And one other thing: why can’t i switch on the torch while FaceTiming? I use FaceTime myself (iPhone to iPad) as digital periscope to look into corners i can’t reach with the naked eye, but often these are dark corners.
I really wish I could select all messages sent to or received from an individual at once. There are times when I’d like to keep the person listed in my message queue but want to delete all their messages. This is true on iPhone and iPad but especially true on the Apple Watch.
I’m excited for the reminders integration with calendar. With a few tweaks, I could replace Todoist & Fantastical and save $120 a year. I doubt the stock apps are there just yet though.
App settings are finally in their own menu. Nothing like trying to help someone with some iPhone setting and they’re all the way at the bottom of all the apps. Hopefully, remote access will help eliminate the need to walk people through any troubleshooting.

Is there more features in the camera app? Like removing an object in a picture within the camera app, Samsung has a lot of features with in the camera app, also writing words on a picture - does it have that now
Apple's decision to restrict intelligence features to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is seen as unfair and disloyal to other iPhone owners. This selective approach, in contrast to competitors who offer more inclusive AI options, updates, places Apple behind in AI integration. The move raises serious questions about Apple's strategy, particularly its rationale and the effectiveness of this limited deployment. Apple must heed lessons from Nokia's missteps, where overconfidence in market dominance led to critical misjudgments and loss of market share.
I love your videos ! Very informative. I have a question , in Control Center , can the icons (Heart ,Music and Connectivity )be moved according to preferences ? For example : Heart Connectivity and Music ?
That tint thing does nothing for me either:) and Where is the new ,glorious 3D icon library? The iOS 18 update says 13/13 pro good to go, but I also heard that iPhone 13 and 13 pro will not be able to use the advanced AI . For me, that's a bummer like Microsoft did with Windows 11. 13 is pretty hefty, but not good enough. No M1 chip ,no goodies:( I hope the AI upgrade isn't all or nothing, perhaps some of it will work like Siri or whatever. OH WELL or Oh Hell, depending on your POV. Cheers, Rik Spector
It looks like Apple is making some really huge steps forward as far as customization goes in iOS 18 One feature I would like to see is.. in the app library on the very last page of the iPhone.. I would like to be able to list all the apps on my phone in alphabetical order by default.. I know you can do this with a quick swipe down.. but I would like to be able to set it an alphabetical list by default.. I don't find the way it's done now very helpful or useful for that matter.. Apple is kinda already doing this with the Apple Watch.. and would like to see it done with the iPad and iPhone

In a big group someone will send their name so I have to remember the name and phone number, click on group details, click on group members, then scroll through all the numbers trying to find the one that matches. Just let me click on them right from the message they just sent
Is there more features in the camera app? Like removing an object in a picture within the camera app, Samsung has a lot of features with in the camera app, also writing words on a picture - does it have that now
Coming with Apple Intelligence to compatible phones in September, so not available for anyone to test just yet.
I miss the option of split screen so you can have two apps simultaneously on the screen one above the other.
YES!! I was waiting for your video about all of this. 😊
I don’t know if it’s the accent (which I like)but your review is the first decent one I’ve seen about iOS 18 that made sense to me. 🤷♀️
Thanks, glad to hear it!
Thank-you for the review - question - when it comes to locking apps, does that include Settings?
My only issue is there's still no clipboard manager for iOS or Mac OS
Agree - It's a feature that makes so much sense, especially with handoff.
I used to forget where the “Find on page” feature was in Safari and it was aggravating. It made no sense being buried in the menus.
That tint thing does nothing for me either:) and
Where is the new ,glorious 3D icon library?
The iOS 18 update says 13/13 pro good to go, but
I also heard that iPhone 13 and 13 pro will not be able to use the advanced AI .
For me, that's a bummer like Microsoft did with Windows 11.
13 is pretty hefty, but not good enough.
No M1 chip ,no goodies:(
I hope the AI upgrade isn't all or nothing, perhaps some of it will work like Siri or whatever.
OH WELL or Oh Hell, depending on your POV.
Cheers,
Rik Spector
It looks like Apple is making some really huge steps forward as far as customization goes in iOS 18 One feature I would like to see is.. in the app library on the very last page of the iPhone.. I would like to be able to list all the apps on my phone in alphabetical order by default.. I know you can do this with a quick swipe down.. but I would like to be able to set it an alphabetical list by default.. I don't find the way it's done now very helpful or useful for that matter.. Apple is kinda already doing this with the Apple Watch.. and would like to see it done with the iPad and iPhone
