I think the lifeguard career would’ve been great as a gtw type career. Bc the beach wouldn’t have to be modified to have drowning/misbehaving sims ALL the time, just when they were at work

I love we can randomize traits in game now, very useful for random CAS challenges and such :D

I love that they are allowing adults to do teen jobs, especially the fast food one, because I like the idea of having an adult Sim starting out still working at a fast food restaurant and just barely scraping by! I mean since we still don't have university, it seems strange sometimes for them to get big fancy jobs straight out of high school! Sure I wish we could do that in real life, but we can't, so I prefer to just have to doing a low end job to start with! I do hope that they will finally give us university soon, they could do it as a game pack, since its just mostly about having the go to college! Though I supposed they might have to have a whole new world, like in the way they did with Granite Falls, but as the university campus! With dorms and houses for rent! So they could do game pack or expansion pack!

I'm glad the island is an actual world, and not just a vacation/rental world like Selvadorada and Granite Falls.
Off the Grid lot trait sounds interesting, so it'd be basically like living on a lot that you didn't pay your bills on?
This reminds me of one of Get Together's pool diving platforms that has a "no mermaids" sign on it. I wonder how that'd fly with the denizens of the deep, lol!

I love the world and the mermaids ofc, but I'm super happy that adults can have part time jobs/ odd jobs now. To me it adds some realism to the game.

that noise your sim was making was his own personal mermaid call. the devs decided to make the mermaids have their own noise just like the dolphins to add some more fun :)
Seeing the mermaid Sims have their tails in the bathtub reminds me so much of H2O: Just Add Water from when I was a kid, there were scenes EXACTLY like that where the girls had their tails hanging out of the tubs and I loved it lmao

A bit disappointed there are no houseboats. The rest looks lovely though Island living is an everyday thing for me as I live on an Island. I'm looking forward to seeing the toddlers on the beach, takes me back to when my kids were little & we'd spend days on the beach.
I just don't really think houseboats would work as well because it isn't open world, and they also don't have the transport implemented yet (cars) so it's much harder to do in TS4. I think most of the time spent on this EP was on ocean swimming which I'm v happy about

The odd jobs are cool I was sad that the diving and lifeguard was rabbit holes but I'm glad some of them are active

Omg, yeah, the mermaids. But also the off the grid option sounds interesting, like you could create a supper hippie sims, who live in their own little self-sufficient world, grow and fish their own food etc.

I saw on Kelsey's video promo for this expansion that the dolphin noise the mermaids make is their weird trait/tick that gives them away, much like vampires randomly scowling and making claw hands

I love this review, thank you very much and thanks EA. I'm actually quite happy and pleasantly surprised with this pack, except maybe that we don't get an active career like the jobs in get to work, the lifeguard career could be perfect for that.
Conservation is an active career but yeah apart from that the others are rabbit holes

So many things to love. Guess my top one's would be mermaids of course, swimable oceans, off the grid, conservationist career, dolphins and the buy/build stuff. A little disappointed about the rabbit hole diving and lifeguard careers. I wasn't expecting houseboats or swimable oceans in other worlds but it would have been nice.
with the toddlers playing in the ocean, the one thing they could of changed is the rubber duck to like a shell or something would have made it a bit better

I can't wait for this expansion! But is it just me or does the waterfall woohoo not look like a new animation? To me it looks like they combined the flower bush, the closet and the hot-tub woohoos 😂. Either way I'm still so excited for island living!

This really looked amazing!! I can't wait to play with it myself!! I can't decide what I'm looking forward to most!! I'm obsessed with what I've seen about build mode!! Lame as this might sound, I'm also super looking forward to just going around the islands in TAB mode and taking a bunch of pictures of the island :D
It is kinda disappointing that more of the new careers aren't work from home ones like the conservationist career is, especially the lifeguard one, but oh well, it definitely won't "ruin" the pack for me by any stretch of the imagination! ♥
Ahaha that's exactly what I did at first!! The sunsets are absolutely beautiful. And although I'm sad about the lifeguard career, at least it means we got 4 new careers in this EP
@@EnglishSimmer That's very true!! I definitely prefer having multiple careers, even if they're rabbit holes, opposed to just having 1 or 2 that are work from home, it just adds so much to the diversity of sims! In my opinion anyway :D

I love the pack, the world is so gorgeous and the gameplay looks great but it would be great to be able to disable mermaids (not really my thing), because I wouldn’t want to have my sim start a relationship with one and finding out they were one after.
Btw, this gameplay review is the best I have seen so far 👍🏾 very complete
