If I broadcast into buckwheat, roll it, and spray it, how much do I need to worry about a good downpour in the immediate forecast?
Obviously some rain will help things when they jump up but I'm wondering if there will be enough moisture just from the buckwheat and dew to allow for germination. Just asking because I typically get one or two shots to borrow my buddy's atv and I have to do everything in one day, seed, spray, and roll all at once.

Hi Jeff! When you hunt those islands you talk about back in a swamp or a marsh in public land, how do you access those without spooking deer? I know to move slow and as quietly as possible, but even with waders moving through that water and cat tails that seems to make a lotta noise. Do you just go in 2 hours before daylight when the deer definitely shouldn’t be anywhere near there so you can make some more noise?

Will the corn detract deer from your brassica/cereal grain plots? I know you have always recommended consistency for all your plots in order to avoid having deer prioritize one plot over one planted with a different crop.

Hi Rick! The great thing is they don't hit the corn around d here until some time in November. This will be a great spot to funnel deer to at that time, and to hold deer in a safe spot. I have corn in 5 other locations so it helps to spread the corn out throughout the land with no dead spots of corn. This is also a spot I don't want deer to funnel to in Sept and October so that helps too.
