Can you make a video of you tearing apart that Yamaha 70 two stroke with the bearing problems? Would love to see how you go about that and replace internal parts!
@@shize9ine i would hope so! 90% of these should be bored in my opinion. ive rebuilt over 20 2 stroke outboards, and all were out of round atleast 2 thousands. my motto is if you want it to last like new, bore and hone is the only way to go. i see so many guys just taking a ball hone and putting new rings in these, and they only last 1/4 of the time they could have if done properly. plus its only $55 a hole from my guy.
Loved that sweethearts response. Oh my God... a fiiish !! And the little Pompano says whooo whooo !!! Be nice to have that fish in a time lapse/freeze frame picture.
It would be great to see a project cost break down, Boat, Motor and parts plus 20 hours of labor for example. Thank you for the content, i really enjoy the videos! Have a great day!!
He priced out a project once, but never again as far as I can tell. I think he makes a decent profit, and also enjoys the work, so it's a win-win for him. His buddies that help probably get something in return, if only friendship, or pay for their time, or maybe use of a boat or some of the profits. Or maybe he's a cunning vampire, sucking money, and work, and boat parts out of everyone he comes into contact with. How the heck would I know? I just hope he never drops any heavy stuff on those cute bare toes.
for a full rebuild, figure around $1500 including the rebuild kit and machine work with carb kits, NOT including labor of course and anything else it might need.
Another great one. Keep them coming! I also like seeing the CL ads you place. Maybe show the new owners picking up the boat and the smiles on their faces?
Especially loved the bonus content of the pompano jumping over your head, in the addition to the top work on the pleasure craft, mate. Well done. Cheers!
GREAT VIDEO! just a suggestion for you when cleaning up the boats to sell. You did the transom, hull sides and cleaned the inside which brings it back to life. If I were you when you had the center console stripped before adding the stereo, GPS, etc you should have run your buffer on the console and brightened it up.
Nice work as usual. The impeller fins always take a set and are bent, but its really about how flexible they are at high speed. if they are still soft, all is fine.of course might as well replace it, since it would need a new plate gasket anyway.

i love these type of videos! i live in christmas, fl and have recently been considering fixing up and restoring boats as a side hustle. Stuff like this helps someone like me shed light on what i am getting into and if it seems like something i can do.
@@Grasshoppa65 definitely agree, he has tons of new tools, but all his old 70's looking tools still work like they are new, same ones I learned on in the 80's.

I like this boat for fishing. I hope you keep it for yourself and use it to fish since you like to fish. Love that new motor you stuck on it just the right amount of power for that boat. Keep boats and motors videos coming.
Came out great! Your videos inspired me to buy a 1995 Boston Whaler Dauntless 13. It has a Yamaha Pro 50 2 stroke on it. All original boat, motor and trailer. Great condition, just needs a little clean up and basic maintenance.
That jigsaw... I lost one just like it in 1958 when I visited relatives in Florida. I was only 8. It was my favorite Christmas present. My grandpappy gave it to me on Christmas morning. Then at dinner he keeled over dead, face down into the turkey platter. We saved most of it, the turkey that is, but a lot of the dressing was all in his beard and up his nose. I was going to use the saw to cut out little wooden toys, and donate them to needy children the world over. I hoped some corporation would see me with that cheap and dangerous-looking saw, and hear about my plan to help needy children all over the world, and feel sorry for me, and donate tens of thousands of dollars worth of professional woodworking machinery to me, and maybe build me a nice big air-conditioned shop to put all the machinery in. So you can see why that saw was special to me. I had big plans, for an eight year old. Could you check the serial number, please? I still don't have a saw like that. I was just thinking that it's never too late to help the needy children of the world. Thanks.
Excellent video and content. Keep it up! Practical purchases and do it yourself repairs adds confidence to a first time boat buyer interested in an entry level "project" boat.
Keep it coming man, would love to see a bigger boat or house boat resto and a series of videos on it. Would be super sweet . Keep up the content dude love all of it
Excellent job. I aspire to work up to something like that. Of course, I'll have to find one that needs a lot of T.L.C., but I'm willing. Just have to see what Mississippi has to offer.
Next time you bring home a new boat, could you do a video on how you inspected it, what you found, and why you ended up buying it. Thanks and keep the videos coming
I use Bar Keeps Friend to wash my deck in the spring. It has Oxalic acid in it. (Active ingredient in a lot of hull washes.) I get the deck wet and shake the stuff on. Give a quick light rub with my car wash brush and let it sit. Power wash it off and a quick wax. Done.
If ever you decide to sell any of those reconditioned boats, I am definitely interested. You do an absolutely amazing job. I am looking for a walk around boat for use in the bays of Oregon and Maryland for some crabbing. The motor is not so important as I will be putting a newer 4 stroke in it myself. Just interested in the boat itself and the trailer.
I think you should find a old abandoned boat shop for sale around there to redo your boats and store your boats and due your videos I'm sure there are tons down there I think that would be awesome and a fun project to showcase on your UA-cam videos thanks for the videos and all your hard work can't wait till the next video🛥️💯💯💯
