How To Beat Godrick The Grafted - Elden Ring Boss Guide
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 гру 2024
- If you’re struggling to understand how to beat Godrick The Grafted, this Elden Ring boss guide will highlight a few strategies and the location of an NPC companion you can call to make the Stormveil Castle boss fight much more manageable.
Godrick The Grafted is the ruler of Stormveil Castle, the first legacy dungeon in Elden Ring. This mandatory boss is a demi-god whose body is clad by extremities taken from his previous victims. Godrick is incredibly agile despite his large size, capable of using his storm-calling abilities to launch into the air or whirl massive gusts of wind. During his second phase, the disgraced lord grafts a dragon head onto his arm, spewing streams of deadly fire. Godrick is a nasty foe, but the good news is he’s easier to beat than Margit The Fell Omen.

I dont know why im having an entirely different experience, I beat margit in 3 tries but Im struggling super hard on godric
Same
For some reason I am the complete opposite, I’m not even joking I died to Margit at least 50 times but beat Godrick on my second try
Same godrick is just so annoying with his dodge timings and the fire keeps killing me in one shot so I have to keep fighting him over and over
Update: 4 days later and I've beat godrick and got through many more bosses since currently just got moonveil katana
That's the beauty of non linear games
@@xxxmegasharkxxx I took 500 tries to beat margit and I still can't beat godrick either lol
One tip - when he goes into his 2nd phase, he obviously severs his arm. You'll see him stop moving before he does this. You can attack him throughout this animation, and even before the animation proper start up. You get about 5 seconds to deal as much damage as you can, virtually risk-free. On my build I was able to take off about 15% - 20% of his total health, just in this section.
The only caveat is that you need to stand behind him when you do this, as otherwise the attack he uses to sever his arm will hit you too.
thanks!
Yup when he's spraying fire have wild strikes ash of war on any sword preferably a great sword. Roll under hims drain arm he's spraying with and lay waste. Also if u can hold ash summons. The skeletons. Great distraction. They don't die unless he hits a gem after they fall in battle. Usually hecwljs away and they resurrect..... Just a coupke tips that help me... Only sword not to put wild strikes on in early game is uchigatana.... It's WA us awesome
@@Justanotherguy83 Yep wild strikes with the flail did the trick in the second phase for me.
@@Flabtke316 glad it worked for ya man 😊
Bruh my stray ashes got smoked in 2 shots
Here are my solo tips:
When he does his leap attack literally just walk towards him and he'll completely miss, you can begin a charge attack just before he lands.
When he does the slams, JUMP! And land with a jumping attack for extra stagger points
When his second phase begins and he spews fire, you can run to his right to get like 3 hits in.
Hope that helps!!
I'm talking about the leap after the tornado move, stand close to him just outside the range of his tornado otherwise he'll just shoot projectiles.
Thank you! My dumbass decided to provoke nephelis by hitting her and so I had to kill her and fight her by myself ☠️ so the tip was actually helpful
When you said to jump during his slams.. man, I can completely forget to incorporate jumping into the strategy
Can I please mate with you😭😭😭
Omg thank you so much
What helped me was saving my wolf summons until phase 2. They made it hard for him to do his fire thing
Thank you for this I almost went full in on the first health bar
OMG thank you for this tip
@@leonardoumanzor6661 not a problem
Going in at night with upgraded demi-human ashes makes him a joke too lol
Wait what? I can’t summon them on the second phase? Is it due to having used them in the first phase?
Fire attacks in his 2nd phase were almost undodgeable imo, but if you manage to get behind him while he does that, then you can deal a lot of free damage
if you dodge through the fire it does 0 damage to you
The normal fire attack you can just jump over. The one where the fire strikes down I sprinted left. Of course that's all timing. This fight reminded me a lot of Laurence from Bloodborne
Thats not true when he does the flamethrower attack it hits me even when i'm literally behind him
When he spits up in the air, you can run at him to avoid.
Forgot about the 2nd phase, I'm struggling to get past the first one...
If you’re bad at the game like myself then try to locate the “Rotten Stray” summon and distract Godrick enough so that the stray can do the blood rot effect on him. It will do unlimited damage so just make sure the effect triggers and CHEESE IT.
Got the ashes beat him first try
This is what i did the first time i fought him and i won pretty easily lol
If you're bad at the game like me you do this and still can't beat him lmao always die during the 2nd phase
How does it work? He bites Godrick a few times and then dies but Godricks life doesn’t go down. What else needs to happen for the ability to work?
@@chrisread6292 How does it work? He bites Godrick a few times and then dies but Godricks life doesn’t go down. What else needs to happen for the ability to work?
I am hyped to get to this fight. I am having so much fun with this game that I don't mind exploring for awhile, leveling up, getting summons, etc. It doesn't feel like a grind to me like so many other games. The setting in this game is just so much fun to explore, it's basically a fantasy post apocalypse that is terrifying and beautiful.
All the dark souls games are fantasy post apocalypse as well. Easily one of my favorite settings for a game. Dark souls 1 still takes the cake as my favorite setting. It really feels like you are a traveler from far away exploring an old long fallen kingdom and its last inhabitants.
Facts, same
This game is way too hard and bshit… getting so frustrated . Monsters can hit through walls and stones but you cant
Its a grind ffs
Wtf this game is more of a grind than most games and it’s aggravating AF! I don’t see how ppl say this game is a 10 out of 10, it feels like a Ps2 game with newer graphics with the shitty movements and gameplay
Good tip is: Use Kukoro throwing knives. I used 20 of them and it got him to 20% HP before I even had to engage in meeeee combat. Also the summoner who I called to help stayed alive the whole time.
The most annoying attack is the flamethrower ground attack. I keep getting caught in it.
How do I avoid it???
@@LB-eh7sr jump over it
Standing behind him gets hit with a fire attack pointing forward
@@LB-eh7sr I found that if you dodge into it repeatedly you don’t get hit
That never hit me lol. Not sure how lol
I managed to beat Margit without much trouble, but this guy has been a pain lol. UPDATE: Godrick is down, dealing with big crayfish/lobster problems now lol
I found Margit must harder, not to say that Godrick was easy. what class and build do you have?
@@chrisvillan88 I went samurai, dex and str mostly. Only just starting to experiment with different weapons from the uchigatana there now lol
Oh nice. Margit gave me some trouble. Fought him level 15 and my rolls were messy because I tried to block while rolling a lot. Beat ever DS3 boss in under 9 attempts but Margit took me 25
@thereal-jlin your point being?
Wild I died to Margit dozens of times and killed Godrick in my second try lol
I beat Margit in my first try because I was way too over levelled by the time I fought him but my God this guy is kicking my ass. He must be significantly stronger or something
It's easy, first get a good weapon, I suggest bloodhound to level 5, being over lvl 29, in the first fase just him until 2nd phase and use the wolves
@@santiagofernandes-v1l Its been years since I played this game now lol.
I beat him tho, took a while but I did, got stuck on the 2 white thingy bosses (the fat one and the skinny one, forgot their name) and quit lol
Thanks! Dual katanas with bleed really stacks up. The distraction from the NPC was def needed, but got it on the 5th try.
Took me a few tries but I beat him already. I actually explored and got some legendary weapons before I fought him.
I'm level 35 and struggling with him. Any tips in terms of where did you get those legendary weapons?
@@Rackstack234 keep your Heath up make his go down hope this helped
Weapons?
@@turtlebeachpleb7980 whered u get the weapons
@@Rackstack234 I recommend sword of night and flame but you need 24 int and 24 faith to use it and if you watch a totorial you don't need to fight anything to get it
Surprisingly enough it only took me 2 tries to beat him. Even so this was a kickass boss. Hard but doable, and I felt like a badass fighting him. Plus using a freaking dragon head like that was awesome and idk why but I felt like I fought another version of Ludwig from Bloodborne.
Me too😂😅
yeah i felled ashamed that it was so easy after summoning the NPC
atleast he didnt have the moonlight greatsword lmao
best tip iv heard so far that actually worked is to roll forwards when he is doing his last attack or a 1 hit move
I accidentally figured out that the stomp attack can be dodge if you just jump before the axe touches the ground. Once he finish the stomp you can punish him with a couple of attacks
Ya know I thought that but never tried it for some reason. I just created distance to be safe. Too late now lol
@@tylervincent2559Same. Beat him without knowing the summon was there either lol. Took me MANY tries.
Finished the boss while watching this video. As my first souls game Ive been loving Elden Ring
For his stormcalker attack stay just out of range of his attack and he'll almost always do the rolling attack, when he does this move toward whatever direction he rolls and then when he jumps push forward right and he'll almost always miss giving you free hits.
This also works the exact same in his second phase.
Thank you, made this so much eaiser. In the end after finding the person to fight with me I managed to defeat him in 5 tries!
THANK YOU FOR THIS GUIDE IM SITTING PLAYING ELDEN RING AND 1 AND A HALF HOURS OF NONSTOP ATTEMPS MADE ME LOSS MY MIND TYTYTY (still havent beaten him tho wish me luck frfr)
Finally managed to beat this pain in the a** after over 10 or so tries. Found h exponentially more difficult than Margit. The trick was the Blood Hound summon or whatever it's name is, at the start summon it and melee Godrick as much as you can to allow the summon to get hits I also used some weapon that applied the Scarlett rot but I don't know how much that contributed. Once he finally gets the debuff he loses health throughout the whole battle, somehow the summoner helper dude survived the whole battle too. Cheers for the advice everyone and goodluck to those still fighting this bastard.
If you're like me and suck at Fromsoft games despite having finished them all, the best offline, early-ish game strategy is to find the Soldiers of Godrick ashes. Nephely is too weak, whereas the soldiers can keep Godrick busy for a few moments longer. And also level up to ~35+.
@@MellowFresh he doesn't have a level per se. You'll know you're not ready if you can't survive two hits of an attack. At least that's what I found out. Many have recommended 35+ if you decide to do this however make sure you kill him without talking to the lady who gives the jellyfish spawn again. As it will automatically fail another quest you have
Took me forever. Thought he was harder than Margit, the timing got tricky seemed like he was everywhere every different fight. My adrenaline pumping right now.... That's 13 bosses down. By far the hardest on yo crucible knight. He looks bad ass
Dude I beat Margot second try.. I’m but I’m struggling with him now.. I can’t time his strikes. I’m losing it dude lol
@@sumthinvishus9300 Margit not bad especially if u have uchigatana..... Godrick messes withe tho....but Margit use wolf summons early in fight, use the flail with wild strikes. The flail causes bleeding effect, that combine with wolf get first phase over easy. Second phased. Memorize his attack chain. Make sure to keep stamina to power strike. Btw two hand the flail. But. 4 tries? Dang I suck
What lvl were you? I’m 26 and I’m seriously struggling with him.
Got it in 2 tries, my first try I got him to about 5% hp. I’m very surprised since it took me 30+ tries to beat margit at around the same level
@@Rockyroad321 im 39 and im seriously seriously struggling

Godrick was much harder in my opinion, I defeated Margit first try but Godrick was a hassle
same lmao i beat margit easily
opposite for me. it took me forever to bear margit but i beat godrick 2nd try.
Had a real hard time with Margit, but fighting godrick right now, id take Margit any day of my life

Margit is a billion times easier than godrick
Margit took me 2 days
Godrick half hour
@@mrjoj070 Good job buddy

@@mrjoj070bros bad Margit is easy asl
@@mrjoj070then why are you on a tutorial on how to beat godrick 🤔
Just watched this video before attempting the fight, I beat him 1st try, awesome tutorial thanks a lot
Same! I Thought for sure after dieing 30+ times to Margit that this fight was going to be a lot harder. Turned out to be a lot easier. 💪
I’d say when he does the whirlwind attack, DON’T stray TOO far away from him. Once he completes his last whirlwind, MOVE IN, this will cause the next part of the attack to be a roll -leap and ground slam instead of those difficult-to-dodge high dmg gusts about 90% of the time… The roll, leap and ground slam (refer to 2:33) can be EASILY dodged if you move in and dodge forward after he leaps, it will also give you a couple seconds to attack him from behind when the attack animation is finished. What you DON’T want to do is move backward like in the video.
This is my first play through and my first souls game so i needed this. I got it first try after the vid. The first tip helped alot
Beat him in my second attempt honestly just needed to know where to find somebody to pull his agro so thanks. Great guides as always.

‘You have to dodge his attacks’ thank you so much!
I did this at level 20 strength build with default health and stamina. I did summon the jelly fish to pull agro on the second phase, but if you just learn the attack patterns, its not too bad. Theres alot of sweeping attacks and the shock wave attacks that you can jump over and retaliate with a jumping attack, and if your using a strength weapon this will also contribute to breaking his poise, and you'll be able to do a visceral attack for massive damage. It's not too bad. It did take me like 20 tries but it was doable. Fun fight tbh.
Yeah but I don’t want to die 20 times to learn his attacks
@@hevillepeacefoot8647 then why are you playing a from software game?

@@emilw715 bro 20 times is not too bad for a main boss. specially when you are only level 20. just saying. you will need to study its movements. I am not sure if I can beat him for just 10 tries. cause stdying the movements takes time. at least for me.
@@hevillepeacefoot8647 I understand, but this is literally the point of FromSoftware games. You need to learn and plan how to overcome. It's the same philosophy as, "practice makes perfect"
Thank you so m uch for this guide. I had no idea you could summon Naphilia the Warrior to aid in this battle. I defeated Godrick after failing 50 times.
Lvl 35. First time I went alone with the idea of just learning the boss moves and time my dodges. Almost beat him lol. Used a Katana with bleeding build-up, makes things a lot easier.
Second time used the axe lady and summoned my friendly jellyfish during his second phase. He didn't stand a chance 😉
Exactly the same approach i took just was the third try !
Just beat Goderick FIRST attempt. Watched your video before my first attempt , thanks soo much!!!!
First time I fought Godrick I got him down to 40% health. The next few times I could only get him down to like 70-80% health. I need to keep trying.

@@iamradical I literally beat him like 5 min after posting my comment, I just used the rotten stray ashes, if you summon it, it'll damage the boss until it dies and all you have to do is wait for the boss to die to the rot effect from the summon, I only hit a couple of times during the whole fight
THANK YOU DUDE. This guy messed me up like 6 times and I was getting sleepy and needed to get off. But then I beat him on the next try with those summons!
No problem!!
I walked through Margit on the first try ever, Godrik killed me twice and I called it a night due to how late it was, I’ll best him tomorrow now I learned about the Npc to summon 👍
For his stormcalker attack stay just out of range of his attack and he'll almost always do the rolling attack, when he does this move toward whatever direction he rolls and then when he jumps push forward right and he'll almost always miss giving you free hits.

Also in his second phase get behind him as quickly as you can especially on his forward flame attack as that will melt your hp if he gets you with it.
Thanks man! Watched this after my 1st attempt and then beat him on my 2nd. Napheli made a massive difference.
Honestly at first you will think godrick is so much harder but in reality he’s a lot easier of a boss than Margit was at the time of fighting Margit, I managed to beat godrick as an astrologer level 30 with only magic, the npc summon and Godricks soldiers ash, the magic being *only* rock sling with the meteorite staff
Well of course you did, you used magic. But what about melee
I think because he moves and attacks faster than Margit. Only took me 5 tries to kill Godrick compared to at least 50 tries to kill Margit.
He leaves himself wide open every time he uses the dragon head which is easy damage
Summons are lame , be a man, have a 1v1

This guy was giving me trouble at first, but I got a little stronger, got the rotten stray summon, and whooped his ass, it took about 5-7 tries, whereas Margit took me more like 15-20
Omg thank you!!!! I’ve been trying him for 5 days!!! Had no idea you could get help
He’s way harder than Margit imo. I don’t know why so many people are having trouble with Margit, I beat him easily and at a very low level.

Thank you!
It took me literally 2 hours of attempts to beat this guy. I killed margit almost immediately while this guy was the real deal. After 1.5 hour, I decided that my attention span had enough, I went left from the secluded cell, reached Nepheli - it was a real game changer. I switched from wolves to that strange medusa (because it got too crowded) and swiped Godrick's ass. What's more, I thought that the initial map you're shown (including fog of war) was the whole map. I thought to myself "Is THIS what they call a massive map on the Internet?" Then I discovered a stella to the north of Stormveil Castle and changed my mind... It will take a while to clear this game. TBH, I've never been a fan of From Software, but the formula in Elden Ring is just perfect.
Yeah, I agree about the game being From’s best game yet. I found the linear dungeons of Demons Souls and Bloodborne to be too limiting. With the open world of Elden Ring, you can explore and farm runes at different places.
Its taken me 5 so far and haven't beaten him yet, im leveling up my strength health and endurance stats for this one
@@code6843 You can always try finding the NPC that is somewhere to the left from the Secluded Cell. You can then summon her to help you fight the boss. I just don’t know where the fuck to go after margit
Left of the main gate in the little door. Talk to the thief guy. Then through the hole in the wall, to the right and up the ledge
Ive learned to roll into his swings which will allow him to miss you about 90% of the time and you are always close to swing at him when he gets exhausted from his jump attack. If you try rolling away from his swings his mechanic will allow him to spam his what I call his hurricane spinny attack and one shot your booty after breaking your stance. If you manage to get him to stage 2, you can avoid his fire breath attack by rolling to the side over the flames. Hes also weak to blood and poison damage.

Sure
I agree. In my opinion Godrick is quite easy if you use magic. I used the meteorite staff on him and then finished him off with my +4 sword. Margit is quicker and more agile.

Beat him in two tries. Might have been over powered cause the boss before him took me much longer lol
Thank you so much it is much easier with Nepheli. i was loosing every time at 30% and I won on first try after that girl's summon helped me. thanks bro!
Spamming flame sling helped me so much with Godrick and Margit
Beat Margit on my like 10th try and beat this one on my 4th haha. Btw my first 10 seconds against him I could tell he would be easier than Margit, good guide!
dude this tutorial helped me defeat godrick instantly the person we can summon and summoning spirits literally just drastically decrease the difficulty of this boss, i got to the second stage in like 20 seconds using sacred blade and then just had my summon take the brunt of the hits in the second stage whilst staying close to the entrance so he didnt run away or anything
Godrick wasn't much of a challenge for me, i defeated him on my 2nd or 3rd run.
I was using Bloodhound's Fang upgraded with Somber smithing stone 5 and for the enchantments i was using the 'bloodflame' and 'flame grant me strength'.
Godrick was actually easier for me because i was levelled more than enough and had a good weapon to defeat him easily, my light attack was giving him around 350 damage and the heavy attack was dealing around 600 - 700 damage so i think it was an unfair fight😅
For a heaven sake who needs guides like this? Beaten Godrick from the 2nd try as SL1. Cheese the Death Bird. Get the Death's Poker weapon. Use Ghost Flame Ignition weapon art.
This was extremely EASY FIGHT and this was one of the major Bosses with Great Rune!
I beat him on my 1st attempt after watching this. Only 2 attempts total. Thank you!
Beat him on my first try with rotten stray spirit ash. I found Margit more difficult 🤣
rotten stray ash is a game changer for every boss. i was stuck on margit for 3 days, beat him 3rd try after getting it.
Thank you. Spent hours on godrick. Didn't know about the summoning of her
Thanks for the advice 🙂 I just used this clip about 20-25+ minutes ago to help me take Godrick down.... well... the second time of trying this 😅 I messed up the first time by forgetting to evade his heavy leaping attacks the first time.
That fucking tornado attack, man
I'm so glad you told me about Nepheli Loux, without her I would not have defeated him
I need help finding her
Thank you so much bro! The saved me so much. I was struggling so hard on him
bro tried like 7 times not knowing you could get help. thanks
use the jellyfish if you dont have many summons, if you keep it alive until 2nd stage it can keep him poisoned almost the whole fight, you may have to finish him off old school though. i ended up having to mace him to death, praise the bleed proc!
Took me a few attempts after this vid learned from mistakes but I DID IT!👏 Thank you for guide
That summon saved me loads. Thank you
i like how your godrick stays still and does the most predictable attacks ever, but mine never stops rolling or that slam everytime i get near him. Even hits me when i get knocked so if i get hit once i’m on the ground and he can just spam me while i’m getting up.
First try because of you thank you . I’ve been trying for days
Actually if u fight him alone and stand still during his jump slash he will nearly miss every time giving u a chance for 1-2 heavy attacks and he is actually easier to fight alone than margit with no spirits even
Thanks bro, first try after I saw you video (after like 50 deaths)
