From Australia. Just for your education, a substantial amount of our fires are started by fire bugs (arsonists). The rest are due to poor management and risk mitigation like backburning. More people are affected by fires simply because humans are living closer to forests and rural bushlands.
None of these are climate change related. 70% of the recent fires that raged through Cyprus recently were started by arsonists and they were arrested by the police. Many of them were climate change activists trying to push a narrative.
The major influences on climate change cannot be controlled by humans. To think otherwise is sheer arrogance. Things like the shifting of tectonic plates, volcanoes, the tilting of the earth's axis which literally changed sub Saharan green bushland into a desert, the Milankovitch Cycles, El Nino and El Nina, other planets like the sun and moon (affects oceans and sea levels), sinking land masses as opposed to "rising" sea levels and so on. These have the biggest impact on planet Earth and our climate and we cannot control them. Earth is a dangerous planet.
CO2 only makes up 0.04% of atmospheric gases, so it is mathematically and statistically impossible for CO2 to be a catastrophic input variable to "climate change". This is all just fearmongering for the financial gain of a few.
What we can control is our environment. We can do away with plastic. Stop littering our beaches and oceans, improve mitigation strategies for fires, plan better for known climate seasons such as cyclone season, fire season, drought season, stop clearing forests and animal habitat, manage fishing practices etc etc.
Climate change is NORMAL. The climate change activists have highjacked the environmentalists which means critical environmental resources are being directed into stupid "solutions" like EVs.

Ironically some of the most devastating fires we've had in Australia were caused by the Greens Party and their environmental mates bullying everyone into not cutting down trees and cleaning up around their homes. That was a lesson learned the hard way.

Listen I am a right leaning guy but if you want to defend something then it doesn't mean you can spill ignorance. Per capita pollution is much higher in west particularly in US. US has barely 1/4 the population of India and you can look up emission data. When have you (as in West) left India particularly off the hook? We are held responsible for things that we are not the only one doing in the world. Chinese I may not be able to defend since their fuck all attitude (we are their neighbor, trust me we know them better then someone living oceans apart relying on BBC and other media for knowledge). India has worked towards controlling the emission but if you are just going to look up the sheer number and bitch about it, then you have to take into account that its the most populous country in the world, numbers not always shows true picture.

A note about the Australian fires...it was widely known that poor management of the underbrush (which needs to be burned away systematically or removed to prevent quick spreading fires) was stifled by 'environmental policies' that essentially boiled down to 'stop cutting down bushes' idiotic ideals that came from morons that only cared about the poor trees being hurt instead of the reasons why. In Australia, land management has been done by Aboriginals for centuries to prevent large scale fires. Clueless academics strike again!

I changed my mind about climate change when a Japanese engineer of a nuclear power plant explained to me how it works and then another Japanese engineer working for a company that manufactures solar power also explained to me how solar power panels can’t be recycled and that the battery they use means bulldozing mountains to get the minerals for the batteries used for solar powered stuff.
I have a friend that worked for Engie (huge energy corporation in France). At first he was happy to go build windmills and solar panels. But soon enough, he started to feel like a grifter for the amount of money people have to pay to repair abd replace these products. "Renewable energy" are not even close to what they what corporations say. Nuclear is the past, the present, and should be the future for worldwide energy.

I am from sderot. I saw and heard all that transpired in my city on October 7th and subsequent days they were still holed up in the police station. My immediate gut reaction to anyone saying that would be a punch in the face. Luckily I do not travel abroad much and don't meet these people.

Colleges are where all of these backward ideas are brewing- it makes sense to go to the source of the ideas that you stand against and debate its main proponents. It isn’t “experts” out there chanting “from the river to the sea”, it is mostly college students.

The point I was trying to make is that I would like to see Ben taking on someone with more experience who understand the subject and can articulate themselves well so they can have a proper debate. Regarding the bushfires/wild fires.
Most cases it is poor land management through state run Governments.
Victorian state government gave too much power to the Greens party, they stopped/ closed most of the alpine trails so no hikers or bushwalkers could enjoy the outdoors.
They also stopped farmers from allowing cattle to graze in alpine forests a 100 year tradition, the cattle would trample dead wood & leaf litter to a pulp resulting in fire prevention.
The stopped something that showed no environmental impact for 100 years.
But caused the loss of life when fires tore through.
