I own the Rolly Polly backpack. I've carried it in Tunisia and Jordan. It holds my essentials such as 2 liter water bottle, packable rain jacket, first aid kit, signal and land navigation gear and other items.
Yes.. There are many product that I would love to "tweak" in some way.. I suppose that's how innovation occurs. But this is what it is.. and it's pretty good for what it is!
Grace... Our girls (9&11) carry their own packs with basically all that they need. They can pretty easily carry 15 pounds or so.. but they are big for their age (100 pounds and 5 feet tall)
It's a basic LED. I have seen them at Lowe's, Ace Hardware.. and a few other places. Don't know the name if them.. but they are pretty nice. We get them at a local discount store
Hey Dave! Great to see that the minimalist camp is already coming up! Can't wait to see this year's videos. When are you all plannin going out?I'll be curious to see out that bag holds up for you. -Woody
by the way it was my first video. I will try and do a better job documenting in the future. I see the need for videos like this now where I didn't before. Thanks
never mind I went to your website. Would love to make that but I don't think I will be able to make MO. Sounds like it would be a lot of fun. God Bless
Hey Dave I wish I could make it out to something like this. I posted a video response of a survival outing. It was only 24 hours, but it was bare minimum. I accidentally posted it on another video of yours about knots first so just disregard that one. Thanks God Bless
Hi Dave, Awesome video, I really like Maxpedition bags too...9.6 pounds with water is is a nice weight for a minimalist kit! This is an old video do you have it even lighter now? I know you guys are busy but I miss seeing your videos and always go back and re watch them for inspiration. Blessings to you and tam Take Care
karenchakey I DO have my EKit MUCH smaller now.. Only about 6X6" and about 2 pounds.. LOL! That is without sleeping gear or clothes.. but is all the necessary gear I use. Thanks for your support
The average carrying capacity of any person is 25% of their own weight. So if 200#, they should be able to comfortably carry around 50#. But personally I believe in lighter loads for children, lets say 10-15% their total weight. My 9 yr old carries around 12-15# and is right at 80#. Another factor is their strength and stamina.
Great review. Might consider it. Need some advise on what kind of day pack to use for 11yr. old girls. Taking the granddaughters out next month. Should I limit the weight to 12# for them? What about a 15 yr old who is 6' and weighs about 200#?
Looks like some great, versatile packs. I'm working on two packs I'm sowing from Norwegian reindeer hides at the moment - I was thinking of doing a UA-cam video of what I'd typically pack for a short trek. Maybe I could do some sort of video response? Your videos are a great source of inspiration - thanks a bunch :) Please check out my channel as well - it's all in Norwegian for the moment, but I'll do some videos in English this upcoming summer.
7000 calories is slim for basically a 2.5 day camp? More than enough food for me.. I prob will also have a bit of GORP in my pocket.. and maybe a Monster or 2 .. lol

I have heard you talk about the minimalist camp on another video too. Is this just a family outing or is this something that is open for everybody?
Good video though thanks
What kind of light did you have there? That looked like just what I'm looking for.
Would love to see your video! Feel free to post it as a response to this one :)
Spray paint does :P
Cool
and how far your walking.....we section hike the AT with 19 pounds for 5 days on the trail.
No blanket of any kind?
You should seek out American made companies. I stopped buying Maxpedition because of it. Check out Tactical Tailor, Spec Ops Brand, Etc.
Toilet paper should come in handy too.
100 ltrs really
100 liters? really
ROLLYPOLY EXTREME is $85
