47:17 probably the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard in a PC game. just too good.
Still one of my favorite games of all time.
Me too!!! Is there a way to play this game on windows 8?

Absolutely - I was like 10 or 12 years old when I played it. I'm sure I missed half the jokes, and some of the dialogue, English not being my native language, but I got the jist of it. The atmosphere, the romance of being an absolutely free and wild animal, and Ludwig II's sad tale. I've got to say, the writers did an excelent job exploiting the unknowns and the mysteries aroudn this king. It all made perfect sense in this story, haha :) Then again, I went to visit Neuschwanstein after I'd traveled through Austria, and went back through Germany, back to Holland, and the reality really screwed up the fantasies and the romantic idea's I had about that place :( It's not like you're Grace Nakimora and you can walk around wherever you please on your own. You have to stand in line to book a tour, that will depart five hours from the moment you book it, because it's so damn busy and crowded. There's restaurants, tourist shops, different buildings that used to house servants that you can visit as well, but who cares.
I wasn't having it and drove off, found a nice spot down the hill, in the surrounding forrests, next to a stream that poured all the way from the castle. And with a view on one of the towers, of which I knew, it was there that Grace discovered the last piece of Wagner's hidden opera, I listened to Ludwig's Song. My dad not understanding any of it, because he never played that magical game, Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within.
+Oghren , +1 :-)
far out man
Robert Holmes is monumental. I always come back to lisen his music.
Something about Grace's theme makes me well up a little. I loved this game as a kid and appreciate it just as much as an adult. So well done.
Still the best game i ever played, theres no games like this anymore sadly. I bought it back then when i was 16 years old. I recently played it again on windows 7 :) Great memories !
I don't understand; are ther npc's to recruit? is it violent? just wanting to play sounds like a scary proposition.. thank if you read this
I love how the WolfCam theme is a more brooding, ominous rendition of the Wolfgang Ritter / Heart of a Schattenjäger theme that appeared in the other titles. It's so effective, considering what's happening in the game while that music is playing. Gotta love Dean Erickson!
One thing that really sold the character for me is that he gets scared in these situations like anyone would.
The effort they put into this game. The settings, the actors, the story and atmosphere... and the soundtrack. This was one of the best Point and click adventure games I've ever played.
It's Craftsmanship. They really crafted and produced a special production with this game. Just so different from anything within even the last 20 years. The care, the effort, the trying to perfect everything, the casting, the coordination of the order that things must be done to advance. There will never be anything like it, or the 90's again.
The intro gives me chills still especially after realizing what it is really happening after playing the game.
What is happening after playing the game?
The way Dark just keeps layering itself. What a masterpiece.
You will never play it for the first time again😭
fact but still the best game ever made
Such a powerful game!
I've never played it
that's ok. I'll just play it for the 5th time 😆
This game taught me what a Canis Lupus Lupus is lol.
Canis....Llllllupus Lllllupus!! One of the funniest parts of the game 😂
Missing the castle theme when you are in the Rittersberg Castle as Grace. That's such a good one..it's like a home base theme. That safe feeling piano tune.
I didn't even notice. It does feel like a home base.
Dark Theme is my favorite track from the soundtrack, felt genuinely hyped up every time it was playing.
I'm 30 years old. Around the year 2000 I'd play this game but never get very far. 10-11 year old me was unaware of splicing the tapes. I recently came back to this game this year and was in complete awe. This too is my favorite song. The build up is beautiful and sad. Melancholic and haunting.
Great music by a very skilled composer. Thanks!
Robert Holmes is doing amazing soundtracks to games
One of my beloved games and soundtracks. The intro mood was simply stunning.
Just played it on Steam and it was an amazing experience! The music is great as always
"Even the trash cans are clean in this city..."
This just brings back so many memories. I wish i could find this now and replay it. Was a godsend of its time.

almond tree? sounds yummy
Awesome that you've added pictures for all parts. Really helps to get into the atmosphere. Thanks!
don't get me wrong I love tim curry but this is and always will be my favorite gk game
Nice soundtracks, that second theme sounds very beautiful, it was like a game and a movie in one, liked Phantasmagoria too , canis lupus lupus is one of my favorite animals
Thank you for this!
the piano is magistral!!!!
its so beautiful joanne
as grace! a beauty!!!
Just pledged to Robert's kickstarter and will be getting a music box with Ludwig's theme on it from this soundtrack. One of the best, if not the best, musical themes created for a game.
Woah woah woah. Please tell me how to acquire this music box with Ludwigs theme. Thank you so very much. I'm guessing part of the kickstarter?
49:53. You're welcome
23:18 Goosebumps
Uma das mais lindas trilhas sonoras que eu já ouvi.
Wolf Cam!!! Still like this version better than Sins Of The Fathers version
reallllllly.......need a GK4.
+andy lai , yes. Remake is not bad, but I better prefer GK 4 than remake.
it's not that Jane Jensen does't wnat to make GK4 she already have a story lined up but she is't able to create it since the Sierra company was acquired by Blizzard so the rights to the gabriel Knight games are in the hands of Blizzard and Jane Jensen have asked them over and over again if they would like to make it since she has the story for it lined up but they DON'T have any plans on creating a new game and yeah I wrote don't in big letters since gk2 was my first cd rom game back when I had my 486 pc with 33mhz and was able to get up upgraded to 66mhz and a 6x speed cd rom drive and soundblaster 16 yey but hey that was the way it was back then and without that type of hardware back then then we don't have what we have today :-) but trust me it's not like I don't want to have a nother gk game since I would love to although it's not like in the sierra's high time true I know the gk3 game was good and all but in some way the games with live actors and so on is in a way special my mom once told me that she drove by the castle together with my grandmother at an vacation a few years ago witch I would't mind seeing myself the street the post office in munich is in is still there :-) sony did have an HD or was it an UHD test video where it was in and when I see it I still think back to gk2 :-)
Ze Wolf looked at me , Its eyes were human , it knew , it knew what it was doing.
In France, this game is considered as a very ridiculous one because the voices in french are horribles. But, as a french (and as a fan of king Ludwig II of Bavaria ) I love this game and its soundtrack. I think Gabriel Knight 2 is very underestimated.
On top of that there's Van Glower 😏
when i played it a long time after I finished the 1º GK, i was afraid
this would had been a letdown, because of the film graphic style, i was
really weary of that...then i came across a good story, a little bit
slim or poor about how the events were chained up, compared to GK1, but
good after all...in the end i really got empatized whith the characters
and story, so after all it was a success as a game for me....then i
played GK3, again desirin a comeback to the classic well drawn 2d
sprites but surprisingly seeing another experiment, this time with
somewhat poor 3d grafics...but this time the story impact was crushing:
when i reached the middle i couldn't stop playing until finished...it is
OUTSTANDINGLY GOOD....to the point i now believe that dan brown's da
vinci code novel is inspired by the game plot
Some of these songs have a very "Twin Peaks" quality to them. Especially the drawn out synth notes and orchestral sweeps.
Yes
I don't understand why this game's soundtrack makes me cry every time. Its not only that is good but also maybe the game's setting and the 90s romance/nostalgia. Too bad that they turned Gabriel Knight 3 into 3D it should continue the FMV approach.
Epic Game!
Anyone Else playing this beautiful game in june 11th 2023?
Juegazo!!
Legendary game
"White sausage...
Yum."
"I don't think she speaks much English. Besides, she only wants to talk about white sausages."
This game, together with the Phantasmagoria series were era defining for me, I have fond memories of my Pentium 120 and Sierra releasing these monumental story tellers. A polished re-release with immersive audio? Where do I sign up ;-)
47:17 song, very simmilar chords like Megadeth Hangar 18. Probablly not intentionall, both songs are great though 😊
Wish it had an hd remaster with everything stays same
Thank you for uploading this music. It's the sierra game i have original all these years and my favorite. May i ask a favor? Can you separate the tracks from Dark theme and under? Cause i can't find them to download them. Thanx in advance!
Ah thank you so much. Your website is?

"Hoert auf eure Mutter. Ihr seid doch ein (...)!"
Ich weiß nicht, warum er Maskalb gesagt hat. Deutsch is nicht meine Muttersprache.
Is this redbook cd audio?
no............................
@@diablo888 then what is it
@@Alianger it IS redbook cd audio of a dedicated soundtrack CD ok. still dont get why you would ask about redbook: if u put the game CDs into an audioplayer then no, they are not redbooks, but compressed sound files in the game...... . .. .
@@diablo888 so it's streaming audio
