Right, that's why Rutherford said LAST YEAR that Bruce was not his coach, then expressed disappointment that Bruce had an option for a second year, then said his coach provided no structure to the team, then said he was our coach "today". Right, not driven by you at all, Jim. Gimme a break.

Every GM and/or President have the right to make a coaching change if they don't feel the current coach is doing the job, but to openly admit to searching for Boudreau's replacement while he's still on the job is tasteless, classless and beyond reason. Shame on you Jim Rutherford!! Great on the fans for showing Boudreau the respect he deserves. Best of luck to you, Bruce Boudreau, in your future endeavors!

Man, I’m glad we fired him at the time we did…he needs to retire for goodness sake. He’s the reason we had to retool our roster to begin with because of bad trades and bad contracts! Good lord help me here! If it wasn’t for that difficult decision to fire him, we would be the Blackhawks and Sharks right now.

Three happy go lucky looking guys. The body language here speaks of defensiveness and embarrassment. Just how you'd like to feel on your first day on the job, and introducing your guy for the job. Y'know, all they had to do is not re-sign Bruce at the end of the season, thank him so much, and then introduce Tocchet after a couple days. And everyone would be happy. Instead, this registers about a 7.5 on the Harold Ballard Scale.

All I take from this is that Allvin and Rutherford can't do their jobs properly. It's not a coach problem. The issue is the GM giving people with one good season too much money and trading for bad contracts and then running into cap issues

In Pittsburgh we are grateful for the two Cups we got with Rutherford but he left us in shambles and a cap disaster and then quit on the team weeks into a new season. Classless.

Whenever Allvin talks, you can see Rutherford on edge waiting to cut in because he knows Patrik doesn’t know what to say. It’s not a knock on him as a person necessarily but wow, even Benning looked more composed as a GM in his early days. It’s like dad bought a kid a hockey team and he’s almost babysitting him. That’s not what this franchise needs. We’re not an expansion team.

There’s lots of stains on this organization, with Bruce unlike with Green he’s was just here for a single season and did his absolute best (while winning over the fans and players) with his hands tied by management. The problem is, players's salaries cost more than the coaches. Coaches get let go quicker because their payout amount is far less than any player. I imagine if it was a tossup between Boudreau and Miller, it would be Boudreau who'd get the boot everytime even if it was Miller's fault and not his own because Miller costs too much, like when they signed that ludicrous deal at season's start.
Loving this presser. Allvin starts by saying the firing was his decision and the reporters bat away the BS and zero in on Rutherford.

The bottom half of the lineup wasn't up to expectations. Rutherford said earlier in another broadcast he tried in the off season to make some deals but couldn't get anything to come together. Mr. Bruce Boudreau hit the nail on the head, when asked, 'Why are you still coaching this team today?' - Canucks management / ownership is SO DISGUSTINGLY SELF-CONCERNED over this decision, they let Boudreau coach out the games vs: Tampa, Edmonton, et al, to let the 'new guy' start with a bunch of lesser competition: Boudreau - "Maybe because the next three games are Chicago, Seattle and Columbus"; EXACTLY, all teams The Canucks have a LOT BETTER CHANCE to beat. Won't that look good for the 'new guy', coming, competing in the 1st three games of his hiring? Kudos to Mr. Boudreau for calling out the political set-up. The Canucks current management team and ownership have acted disgustingly.

This is the final straw for me with this dumpster fire of an organisation. The Vancouver Canucks are an embarrassment and I’ll be glad to put my money elsewhere. What a shame! I hope people stop going to the games, I hope people cancel their memberships and I hope it hurts Management in the only place they know, their bank account! Absolutely disgraceful establishment!! Their (Managements) behaviour and lack of class, followed with no decent human respect towards Bruce (the fans too, given we are the ones who give our time and money to watch this sport) shows a real problem within the Canucks organisation and it clearly starts from the top and filters all the way down… for me, personally, I don’t want any part of it anymore. Been a Canucks fan for a long time, and I have never felt more embarassed than seeing how this organization's management has treated it's people and players, such as Bruce and Bo.
This has single handedly made me give up on this team. And I’ve been here through MANY of the hard times. It’s inexcusable.

The problem with the Vancouver Canucks isn't coaching it is the on ice talent. Was the Boeser contract good, NO. Was the Miller contract good, NO. Vancouver is smack up against the cap. They have big contracts with players that aren't earning them. They are not going to be able to sign Horvat, and likely not Kuzmenko. If I was Patrik Allvin, I would start looking for a job, as he is likely to be next. Patrik, remember Bruce, it won't be pleasant when Rutherford starts putting you under the team bus.
