I live in Oregon so see many Northwood travel trailers. In fact, my first tt was a 2003 Northwoods Nash 22H; one of their first models and still one of their most popular today. I can attest that you absolutely can't beat the construction quality but I do wish they'd move their decor into the 21st century.

I never see these down south where I live. I don't know if I have ever seen one in person. I like this more classic woodwork look which tends to happen mostly in the northern-style manufacturers.
Nice TT, I don’t mine carpet in the bedroom or slide, but not in the rest of an RV. I find when camping, especially if you have dogs. Dirt and debris gets tracked in easily. Wife would like the laundry shoot and trash port. Great video.
Josh- I finally ended up getting a new RV and am so excited, its an Arctic Fox 25W! Wahooo! Its empty weight is as much as my old Sierra Lite's GVW! It's hefty, and with that it feels so SOLID. Love Love Love Northwood MFG and the product they kick out. Many folks go between AF and ORV or so I have read on the forums, just which floor plan does one prefer? Thanks for all you do buddy!

Love your reviews JoshNerd! I like the carpeted areas, and the open bedroom/bathroom. BUT, could one get the factory to option in a night stand (with the shorter wardrobe) on BOTH sides of the bed, similar to our older Outdoors RV 20FQ? Wife and I both love the large night stands. I’d want the wide theater seating option for the rear. Also, wish the holding tanks were larger, including fresh water-maybe 80 gallons for fresh and gray, & 60 for black?
At 15:54 -- Are you sure that's auto leveling? Those look like just regular power stabilizers to me. If these had auto-leveling that would definitely put them on my radar for sure.
And follow up: If this really is auto-leveling, which would be great, and if Outdoor RV is "related": Does that mean auto leveling is available on the Outdoor RV models? I've been shopping Outdoor RV floorplans and I have not seen auto leveling mentioned anywhere.
The backcountry series doesn't have a titanium option and therefore you cannot get auto-leveling but just in the backcountry series all the rest of their RVs offer it no matter the size but you have to get the titanium package
I love the insulation properties of artic fox but they desperately need to update the look in both color and Floorplan. I would definitely buy if they do.

We are hoping to be able to get out and give an AF or ORV a good look over one of these days as they appear to be worth buying one and bringing back here to the East Coast. The only question I have not been able to get answered at this point is if Northwood/ORV would authorize warranty work for the components they directly warrant to a local RV tech should it be needed? Would they send me parts to do some of the potential warranty repairs? I'm not worried about axles, appliances, etc as based on past experience the manufacturers will work with local authorized services.
I don't have personal experience with NW/ORV clients. _However..._ In reading thru comments FROM actual owners - some of whom purchased these far from their dealerships - the company _seems_ to be good about taking care of their owners in a reasonable fashion
Yes your audio cuts out during the intro but it does come back for the review. This is a nice unit. Interesting putting the shower in the bedroom. I do like the build quality. Of course with me I need Max Solar! Safe travels.
Josh, Is RVIA a truly credible independent entity when it comes to ensuring safe recreation manufacturing? I've perused their website and I find little in the way of satisfying my curiosity. Also, to my way of thinking, Standards should be broadcast and available verus charging $58 for the Standard for RVs 2021 Edition NFPA 1192, eh? I suspect the organization is figuratively an arm of the major manufacturers to (falsely) invoke confidence in the consumer. Thanks and keep on making information available to us all!
Howdy Josh - always love your content and I dig this camper cuz it's just me and my lady and a couple of pups. Wanted to let you know your "pricing and availability" link doesn't work. Also there's some kind of sound issue at the beginning - not that it's a big deal. Thanks again for what you do!
The link works -- we're simply sold out at this time so it returns no results. I wish it was more clear about that but the website people are like "There's nothing we can do." Which... don't get me started LOL :)
Josh, thank you for bringing the AF 25Y to your video list and as proud AF 25Y owners I can say a Northwood AF is definitely a cut above most others MFG's and I have owned a couple of other brands that I can compare against. The storage is incredible and I carry a lot of stuff and probably too much and I can't over load this RV and ours fully loaded weighs 8,300 Lbs with about 25 gal of potable water. I would recommend that you use a HD 2500, but I have seen someone who was using a 1/2 ton. My wife loves the large back window and when you open up the slide you have plenty of room and we travel with our lab and it feels very open and large inside for all. We're going to keep this RV a couple of more years and then we're going try a AF 25R to my wife dismay because she just loves the large rear window but it's just three of us now and I want to try the 25R and see how it can work for us. I can say once you have a AF it's very hard to think about going back to another MFG. As for having any issues its been minimal and I just fixed them my self rather then taking it back to the dealer and RV's travel down bumpy roads so things can come loose over time.
Thanks Josh for your review on this artic Fox 25Y , I personally love this RV ,and being one of the abnormal ones out there I actually love the color of the sofa and Dinette cushions along with the darker cabinets the only thing I wish they would change is the countertop color but I can deal with it. Thanks again for all your hard work in bringing us these very funny and informative videos, I love your kind of humor and it's made my day more than once watching them .
A hamper? A manufacture that thought folks might need somewhere to put the dirty clothes - Wow. And more places to store jackets/coats and such. Still thinking it’s missing a lava lamp and maybe a beanbag chair.
Love the Arctic Fox/Nash/Outdoors RV trailers and 5th wheels. Construction is awesome! However, the 3 reasons we won't buy one are dark out of date colors (they feel like a musty old cabin), carpet and no 12 volt refrigerator. We are currently set up with quite a bit of solar and want to continue that way. I don't want to buy a new RV then have to repaint the inside in light colors and replace the refrigerator. Maybe someday they will update their decor and move to a more solar friendly set up.
They are loaded with quality standard features, the decor doesn’t have the same decades old look as some of their other models, the floor is more modern, the recliner option would be an awesome upgrade to the jackknife sofa and some carpet in a bedroom is not a dealbreaker for me👍
Kickin' trailer. You do about the best reviews, Josh. Maybe you could use those talents to convince Northwood to consult with Grand Design about building in some CCC into their trailers.
I've actually chatted with a few of the designers at GD about that. Some of their models have barely 1,000lbs of capacity on a 35ft trailer. Just doesn't make sense.
Good job, as usual Josh. I think they have potential; however, still seem a little out dated. Like the updates but still looks dated with interior and some of the parts like the doors, trim, interior walls, etc.
I really enjoy your content, and this looks to be a really nice unit. Personally I don’t mind the bathroom layout. To me, for a higher $ higher build quality brand, the Zamp PWM controller just doesn’t belong. Azdel would be the other thing I’d expect in this price class. Fridge wise, I’d think it would be far easier to block off the vents and LP line and swap it out for a 12v compressor (if that is what the customer wanted) than it would be to convert a 12v fridge only to a propane absorption type. Cutting a roof and back vent afterward without knowing where wall studs and rafters are…
As someone that owns a Northwood Nash travel trailer, there is no comparison in terms of build quality between Northwood-built coaches and any others in the class. They're rock solid and durable - you get spoiled with these aspects of their build quality and process. However, also being an owner of a Keystone Cougar Half-Ton travel trailer, it's easy to put the build quality aside when presented with better features and conveniences such as the "Boardwalk and Park Place" layout of theater seating and TV, the In-Command system, solar package, 12-volt refrigerator, inverter, etc. Love Artic Fox travel trailers, but the floor plans are lacking (look at where the TV is located in this rig and where the seating is - you're a mile away from a small screen), as well as no king bed. You can take the Arctic Fox (or any other Northwood product) totally off road though - not something I would do in the Cougar!
Thank you so much for sharing this. It's basically the feeling I get when I go thru them. I Love stuff like Cougars (since you mentioned your name), but there are reasons they don't weigh as much as these tanks
That is a nice TT. Looking at the specs, I personally didn’t think it was overly heavy for being a beefier system. Great showcase of a brand we hardly hear of Josh.
Artic Fox is nice. I like part of the floor plan. Carpet under a dinette just doesn't make sense to me. That area is where spillage is more likely to happen. I'm not a carpet fan at all but I admit that carpet in the bedroom is nice. It seems well built but the colors. It just seems too dark in there. I'd have to see it in person maybe. The bedroom/bathroom setup is a no for me. Another good video Josh. Thank you. 😊👍
Jesus...this is the 2nd RV company that doesn't insist that theatre seating is more important that cuddle compliant seating...what is the world coming to ...?
Of all your showings, Arctic Fox continues to dominate my mind. Items on my shortlist, such as separated bathroom area, or outdoor camp kitchen, are continuously defeated when I think about the overall fit, finish and ruggedness. When you do find one that has everything on your wish list, it's either not as well constructed, or a fifth wheel, or both - I don't want a 5th wheel and do want something well built. So many trailers just start falling apart over time on light trails. This one looks less likely while being very well appointed. I've come to hate infrastructure pieces that start falling apart or finish pieces that look and feel like flimsy cardboard. I'd spend more to get something ruggedly built that I won't be taking back to the dealer often for servicing. Artic Fox's niche thinking is on the right track 👍👍👍👍

I'm not a carpet fan at all but I admit that carpet in the bedroom is nice. It seems well built but the colors. It just seems too dark in there. I'd have to see it in person maybe. The bedroom/bathroom setup is a no for me. Another good video Josh. Thank you. 😊👍
I agree about no carpet under the dinette.
I generally agree. I could see someone liking a carpeted bedroom for evenings but dinettes do seem to make the least sense to me
Jesus...this is the 2nd RV company that doesn't insist that theatre seating is more important that cuddle compliant seating...what is the world coming to ...?
DOGS AND CATS LIVING TOGETHER MASS HYSTERIA
In the world of mega solar, a gas-electric fridge is unacceptable.
I like it, but, Ewwww, that shower!! 😝😠😣

@@JoshtheRVNerd Yes, and feeling like you're in nature! 😅😂
Nice couple rig. If you haven't seen your partner necked or in the shower are you really a couple? Too bad 5he potty is kinda tight.
It would be nice styling IF this was 1980 rather than 2023 👎 Plus, all that carpet doesn’t work with dog hair.
Word on the street is they might actually be giving the interior a facelift soon
The couch is so far away from that baby sized TV😢
