Hey Jeff, honestly, I hate 90-degree parking. I'm not a fan of using mirrors, maybe that's why. Over Christmas, we struggled to find good drivers, so we brought in new starters. What I saw was unbelievable. Nothing would surprise me anymore. They even managed to get a trailer stuck between other trailers when they turned around - completely jammed. Anyway, we're past it now.
I'm a new pass and I did a class 1 assessment for a role they needed for Christmas. I managed to impress the assessor when driving forward, but then when I had to reverse I made a complete mess out of it. The yard was small and trucks were parked all over the place. He passed me anyway because he said the yard was tight even for an experienced person. I'm slowly getting the hang of it but the problem is that I've not driven much so I'm not getting the practice I need.
It's like the previous place I have work on if you see my video how tight is on space that you need to blindside as no space to turn around . Keep practicing you will be pro one day . Take your time and good luck
@@crazyshunter Yeah when our yard is busy I am forced to reverse from blindside. I'll be driving again in february for a whole week because the class 1 driver will be off on holiday. I will be covering him. 1 week is not enough to be an expert but hopefully enough to get the hang of it. Thank you for your reply. I watched most of your videos. They are very helpful.
last week my first assessment for class 2 i have class 1 driving licence with out experience no one giving me a jobs so with wincanton ikea class 2 permanent jobs . after all check he ask me to park into bay . reverse back in to bay first time both mirror i can see yellow mark but he said i turn too much ok . 2nd time i can see both mirror yellow mark but he said i need to give more gap bay yellow bar i say ok . third time i give gap bay yellow mark and one side mirror i can see yellow other side just inch hide . so he fails me now im looking for other jobs .after getting license no experience . at least he should give me first small training parking in bay and then ask me for do test anyways ..... is so hard some peoples
Well , what can i say ... First of all is January, and believe me, it's not a good time to look for a job . After Christmas, all calm down, and there is a massive drop with work, so all drivers have like 3 days off on a week . Keep trying and don't give up . I'm doing kamikaze thing now as I'm going to school... want to be electrician ... at 45 yo .... but not giving up .
One day on the past , I get pissed off with Hermes so I decided I will quit . I come to transport in the middle of my shift ibtold them that I'm going home and I love you all people but it's to much work for me . So I left ... Next day I searched for work and found McDonalds in Coventry employing drivers . Made appointment for assessment same day and ...... failed .... I haven't done anything wrong in my opinion . But assessor thinking different. When I finished he told me I was going to close to other vehicles and to curb etc ... but I knew exactly where I was and how much space I have . Anyway ... some people are .... no comments . Good luck anyway
