Such a cool layout. Since Todd has been a long time collector/operator of N-scale locomotives and rolling stock it would be interesting to get his take on how the products and the N-scale industry has changed over the decades. What things were or weren't so great in the past, and the improvements he has noticed from certain manufacturers over the years. Anyway, thanks for the video Roy!
There's sensational, there's unbelievable, and then there's Todd Treaster. Words fail me as this is so good and almost every modellers dream. I can just imagine him sat in the cab with a line models being made while he awaits a green. Thanks for showing it Roy and thanks to Todd for making it. Cheers, Bob
It's great to see you back Roy! That Todd's just a show off isn't he?!!!!!! Seriously, his layout and collection are fantastic, and I wish I could go and see the layout for myself someday.
Thanks for sharing Roy, hope you're doing well. This is further proof for any of the newbies (and not-so-newbie) that even a layout as impressive as Todd's is truly never done
Both of you ( Roy & Dj ) have videos of Todd's layout . I kid you not when I say this , at least 4x a week I turn on one of these videos and listen to them as I'm working on my train room . I will never have a layout anywhere close to this size and may never get to visit Todd's layout but im sure that no one has ever gotten more inspiration than me from Todd's work. Thanks Roy , Dj , and all the others for making these awesome videos of Todd's layout .
Thanks you, Mike. It's a delight to hear from you and to share Todd's layout with you. Todd's layout has been a real inspiration to you and so may friends in the hobby. ...Roy
I've come back to the model railroading first time in almost 10 years. Time has changed to be able to see many American great layouts in overseas. Building a large layout is hardly possible in Japan but I myself am preparing to build mine. I'm looking forward to watching your next video. Happy rail roading.
Great Video of Todd's layout Roy..... I would really like it, if all of us Keystone State Modelers could get together for a Bull Session one day. I had plans on finally attending the N-scale gathering in Altoona this year but, once again it falls on the same weekend as the State Bowhunter's Festival in Forksville. If there is a way to split the time and the driving (& maybe a Vacation Day from Work), I will try to get there. Retirement is next year and permanent layout building will commence. Finally,....the culmination of many, many years of collecting, building, & detailing will all come together. Thanks Roy & God Bless !!!!
Excellent video, mr Roy. Great capture of the layout. Very enjoyable to watch. Will be visiting his channel shortly. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
Nope, he dorsn't have his own channel, but if you do a UA-cam search for "Todd Treaster," you will get a bunch of hits for videos about his layout uploaded by other people. ......Roy
Roy he has one of the most impressive layout I have seen. ( on your channel).! I would truly love to visit in the future. Maybe have to put on my bucket list 🤔 thank you so much for the share, Chris
very very nice video roy you captured it just right. todd has done a lot in his city scene for sure revamping it all basicly. a lot of details that now else has thought of and perspective pictures and items like that. he is just one of the best modlers that we can referance today. his collection is stunning with a lot of very rare cars and locos as well as an amazing amount of trains that he has collected since he was 12 years old. yes if people are coming to altoona this year i hope if todd is open that is that people will stop in and can see this well i guess there is no other words but empire of todds. he worked very hard to have this great layout and collection and he just loves to share it with everyone. you did a fantastic job here on this video roy cant wait to see ya again maybe in sept in altoona. thanks jim
Great video showing Todd Treasters layout, very enjoyable. My freight car fleet is now118 freight cars,6 cabooses, 5 freight locomotives, 3 Amtrak locomotives, 17 Amtrak cars, the 10 car Southern Pacific Daylight set & the GS-4 number 4449 which is my excursion train. I recently did a template for my planned pedestrian foot bridges for my model railroad as I want to build two of them.
Thanks for sharing Todd’s layout. I have seen it before on UA-cam. That is a nice layout and a lot of work and hours went into it. I do like the way he displays his collection. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. 😎😎
I’ve been lucky enough to see this layout in person in 2020, Todd is very kind and his whole family is generous. I was younger then and he said “ you remind me of how I was when I was a kid “ because he said he would go out at the local train crossing and wave to the engineer. I’m glad to see you posted again Roy, I’ve only now made an account but have been watching you for years. I’ll be making my way to n scale weekend so I’ll hope to see you there if you go! Ok god bless…
At first I found this beautiful layout to be inspiring. Then I realized one would need to be a Millionaire to afford such a thing, and my thoughts of enthusiasm quickly turned to despair. Now I have to go back to my 4x10x5 garage layout with One Locomotive and Four coal hoppers
What an amazing collection! What boggles my mind, based on the numbers, is Todd has roughtly between 1/2 and 3/4 million dollars in cars and engines! Just WOW!!!
It's hard to believe how many layouts are in my small town here in Central PA. I could only dream about a layout like this. I just have my small HO layout in my garage.
I've seen his layout here on UA-cam a couple other times.Never ceases to amaze me! If I'm not mistaken it's DC control? His collection of locos and cars on display is just as amazing.
Hi Roy! Greetings from a fellow Penn State Alum, Class of 1977 LEC, Law Enforcement & Corrections. Will I see you in Altoona in September at the Blair County Convention Center? I found your channel about a year or so ago. Back in 1968, age 13, I received an N scale model layout starter set from my Aunt & Uncle. In no time, I had the usual 4 by 8 to start and built several layouts and the hobby lasted for about 4-5 years until college as I recall. My son, Adam, was born in 1992 and when he was 6, we gave him an O Scale Starter set for Christmas. Of course we had to set it up and made a big oblong loop around the Christmas tree, oh about 6’ by 15’ feet. New Years came and everything was boxed up. Well, from 1998 until Christmas of this now passed year (2023) it remained in the box. Since 2011, Adam has rarely been home for Christmas. In fact, for the past 5 years straight he’s had to work. (He was a resident in Internal Medicine and after finishing that, he went to work as a Hospitalist, being very busy due to Covid and understaffing.) (He’s in NJ, so he’s 6-7 hours away.) The O Scale Train came out of the box and was placed around the tree. He and everyone else enjoyed the Train. SO DID THE CATS! Gave me “The Bug” to get back into the Hobby at age 69. In fact, here’s a couple of “Kickers” for you as they say. In Your video playing right now, you begged the question: Why would anyone want to go to Altoona? VIDEO: ADVENTURES IN ALTOONA I would, but for me, it’s only 3 - 4 miles away and the Convention Center for me, is even closer. FYI, I was born at the Altoona Hospital and grew up in the area. After graduation from PSU, I worked 33 years in the County Probation Office. For the Second Kicker, I was on Amazon the other night looking at Kato N Scale Track. For fun, I picked out a rather large list of track and the Starter Set which sells for about $175. Like I said, I was very tired (now 4:27 am) and my pain medication was kicking in, as I unfortunately have Pancreatic Cancer and Spinal Stenosis. After totaling up my cart, it was well over $1,000! I started putting everything in the Buy Later Cart as I didn’t intend to make any purchases. Well, MasterCard sent me a notification I had made an Amazon purchase of over $700, through Amazon!!! WHAT? Looking into the matter, I found I had mistakenly made the purchase of 4 Kato Starter Sets. Should also have had my glasses on. Although not intending to buy the Sets, I think I’ll keep one for myself and give one to my son. The other 2, will be returned! So, I hope I get a chance to meet you. I enjoy your videos and will borrow some of your work and suggestions. Keep the videos coming. Love your layout! I am having second thoughts if I want to have a helix or two to get to a staging area. I laughed very hard as you seemed to celebrate in your way the title as “Slowest Model Railroader” I’m trying to recall, is it: Justin Case that might join you in your travels? My Personal health being what it is, I won’t be joining you on the 192 Stairs trip up to the lookout to Rail Fan.
Short story: I ordered something from the west coast. I chose ground delivery, because it was the least expensive. I was checking progress and it said Coalville, UT. I looked on the map. The map displayed Coalville, right next to a place called Echo and up the road from Evanston. Echo Canyon. Oh yes, I know that place very well. Never been there, but there is this one layout....
Amazing layout and locomotive/car collection. A bit excessive to collect that much rolling stock but everyone has to have at least once vice in life. Interestingly his wife helped him at the beginning - wonder why she stopped. 😁
You have a very nice layout, Iam a HO UNION PACIFIC Train nut big time on big power like ALCO C855A-B-A set and DDA4OX to the DD35A and B even I have U50,s UP and SP
What an incredible layout I would love to see that. I’m probably a 3 Hours Dr. from there. I’m just wondering does his kids or grandkids love the Trains also. Because when it’s time to go I wonder what they’ll do with all that.
Is there anybody out there who has an “N Scale Wheeling and Lake Erie SD40-2 locomotive”? So hard to find but I’m dying to have 2 of them for a layout based off my hometown. (PLEASE HELP)
Wow impressive! He must have a couple of million dollars invested in all of that.

Good start to the morning. Coffee and trains doesn't get any better, especially with Todd's layout.

It's great to see you back Roy! That Todd's just a show off isn't he?!!!!!! Seriously, his layout and collection are fantastic, and I wish I could go and see the layout for myself someday.
This is the most epic railroad layout I've seen in my life, the scenery, mountains, roads cars, trucks, trains, lakes, and trees, unbelievable
Thanks for sharing Roy, hope you're doing well.
This is further proof for any of the newbies (and not-so-newbie) that even a layout as impressive as Todd's is truly never done

Thanks, Roy. Some people think stuff like this is obsessive but I think it is love. I liked Todd's layout a lot.
This 72 year old rejoined the hobby this year after 60 years off. Adding a second train soon, within the former 10’ x 14’ den.
Forgot to say the most important thing. Yes, agreed, love included.
What an amazing layout !! A lot of time and love went into this beautiful layout . Thank you for sharing Roy.. enjoyed 👍 Darrell

Immaculately ballasted main line, incredible scenery, and huge trains.

Insane detail. Beautiful artistry!
If my Fermi estimation is correct, there's over a million dollars of rolling stock in that basement. Truly a collection to be admired!
Thanks for sharing this amazing layout with us, Roy. Great to see you again, you’re looking good and I hope feel the same way. Ron

I'm wondering if Todd is still married..... I figured in his rolling stock alone in the yard average 17 to $20 a car $68,000 250.....
half million dollar layout, impressive
🤠🖐🚂
Wonder where the wife went after “she initially was helping him out”…?
What is his rolling stock worth?? Holy maceral that's a fortune!!!!!!!!!!!
Incredible layout!!
