You are by far one of the most helpful and best when it comes for tips in Bjj and grappling in general. Thank you so much for sharing man. I’m a “white belt” so a lot of ur techniques help a lot🙃
First month in. This is actually some advice someone gave me today after I kept working past his guard and then found myself back where I started. Thanks for the advice!
Thanks for the video brother, just started BJJ 2 weeks ago, passing the guard and keeping the opponent in my guard is something I want a really strong base in before going crazy trying to learn submissions and how to defend all of them.
The smallest things matter. Im 235lds and can secure side control more times than not. I sometimes have issues with smaller guys and higher belts. They are great at exploiting space and regaining guard. Good info.
I definitely learned this the HARD way...love that leg grab - never tried that unorthodox position - very clever - I like to use the knee or more often arm to block and spin to N/S. Always learn something here - Osssss!!!
OMG another light bulb moment from watching you! I pass to side control pretty often and I have been wondering why they can just bring their knees up and get their guard back! Gonna try to remember this today thanks!
definite light bulb. it worked nicely always telling myself to control the hip. It made me feel so much stronger especially if I could pin the arm on the side closest to the mat. Thanks a ton, chewy!
Agreed, one thing that has helped coming from wrestling and Judo though was learning to use crushing pressure in side control, (try not to use it often obviously against other white belt training partners because I'm not a douche nozzle lol) but appreciate these tips!
@chewjitsu would you have any tips on take downs for a 135lb guy whose left shoulder pops out when jerked away from me 😅 it usually limits me to hip toss on my right side or trips but usually resort to pulling guard or letting them get a takedown with me landing in a favorable position. I want to play more top game and takedowns are my weakest point because of my shoulder.
i have come to the conclusion that chewy is basically just steven crowder with a beard and a black belt. think about it, when is the last time you have seen the two of them at the same place at the same time? think about it......
I really was just thinking this after getting spanked by all the higher belts in class the other day 😭 I could take em all down and as soon as I pass they’re right back ready to tap me 🤦🏾♂️😰
Some say that Adam has no eyelids...some say that Adam’s jazz hands are actually humming bird wings. All we know, is that he’s “The Stig” of BJJ!
The jazz hands are on another level now with the “re-holster” move!! 😂😂

Glad I can help BJJ make a little more sense for ya Jack.

Glad you like em Christian.
Sick edits man! It improved a lot!
Wish I saw this last night! Just had my first session this morning. Already so much fun!
This is great. I'm getting back into bjj after an extended period off and these sort of tips will help me out when I get back on the mats.
Awesome video man I needed this
happy to help brother!
great information, I am sure it will help me on the mats too
Thanks James! Happy to help homie.

Thanks!🤙
You're welcome!
I want solid fundamentals. Thank you!
My take on guard passing is to step step twist, flip and bing bang.
-not an instructor.
I think I understood that.😉

Every time I cough, you have to do jazz hands
It’s like chewy watched me roll today and made this video

2:45 you're not worried about the reverse triangle there?
Not particularly. But I mean you always have to be aware.
Who is he other guy in the video with Chew? I don't remember him.
When holding the leg be mindful of the inverted triangle.
This is why I love passing straight into kneeonbelly
I always get stuck in side control and didn't know why! Its when some1 controls my hip!!! What is your tip for when ur on bottom in that scenario??
All this work for nothing summarizes my guard passing game.
Why does my coach then to say bring your knee to the persons head is he wrong or is that another way to do it?
Chew one day I’m going to train with you one day!
Sounds like a plan to me!
Chewjitsu One day ima go to Kentucky man 😂
Chewie on tha chronic what will he do
🤙🏾👍

It’s the reality of training. One day you’ll get your payback. 😉
So does Adam ever actually blink??
Usually only on Wednesday and when there is a half moon.
Is this Luke Thomas's son?
