This video was truly magical! I felt so moved watching the drum work and especially Rory's guitar skills! I loved the vocals, they were spot on! What a gem you had for us today. First of all it was so nice to see Billy Connolly from his prime....and John Bonham....wow.
Rory Gallagher was THEEEE most influential guitarist, and he should be known by everybody. He was a great guitar....the guitar was a natural limp he was born with and he was also a great singer, as we could all experience here. I am happy you've discovered him now. Thank you for a great show🙏

Rory was the guitarist, singer and songwriter. Ted McKenna was on drums, Gerry McAvoy on bass. Rory was an incredible musician with a varied and deep catalog. Please keep exploring his performances.
Rory is so underrated, almost unknown in the U.S. RIP Rory.

Mia, it's not a stretch to say RG belongs up there with Hendrix and SRV and one of the greatest and most dynamic players ever. Rumor has it he owned the first Stratocaster in Ireland.
He was its second owner , and its the other way around whether its a stretch to say they belong in the same breath with Rory.
@@Sota-son I guess you missed the word “not” as in NOT a stretch. Kind of important to the context. As for the strat, it was the first one in Ireland and he was the principle owner so my comment is correct.

Rory is what I'd call a " musician's musician"
Other Guitarists site him as a major influence on them or rate him as one of the best Guitarists of all time.
Sometimes a musician can be too good for mainstream commercial success.
Rory was a complex Guitarist.
Sometimes " less is more"

Which happens to be a music fan favourite.

Wow Mia this totally brings back memories I saw them in St Louis in the late seventies it was a great live show🌿💔 some of my earliest memories of head banging crossing over.

Hendrix is pretty universally considered the best guitarist ever and Stevie Ray is my personal favorite but this guy is great as well. And props to you for recognizing John Bonham, Mia! Hear YEE hear YEE another awesome reaction!

I removed my thumbs up. Hendrix is hands down the greatest musician who ever lived. Rory is a great blues guitarist.
Hendrix was a great innovative virtuoso musician.He was more influential than Rory because he sought fame and Rory didn,t.Both at the peak of excellencr but for me Rory just edges it. No disrespect meant to Jimi.
The first song is "Another Girl Another Planet" by the Only Ones.
I have no idea why but I don't know much of Rory Gallagher's stuff, despite it pretty much being 'my period' of music. Not really a huge fan of the vocals, but all else was pretty impressive.

Love to see your interest Mia but this tune is nowhere near Rory's best, top shelf stuff so give yourself a treat and dig a little deeper into the catalog. Check the original album cuts first before you get into these live variations with the exception of the actual live albums of course ( which are "Live in Europe",Irish Tour 74", and"Stagestruck").
