- Herception--a targeted therapy breast cancer drug developed at UCLA's Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center--saved the life of Louise Cooper, who is still going strong 10 years after receiving a cancer diagnosis.
She is actually my auntie, and for anyone wondering, she's doing great
I just read she is doing very well she had a second diagnosis in 2014 triple negative in the same breast and again she survived and still competing
It cured me!!!! Thanks Drs🙏🏼 2016 HER2+ / Metastasized to my liver stage 4, at 47 years old.... With Herseptin and Perjeta ... AND STILL GOING! 😂 👍🏼

Thank you for walking ahead of me with such dignity and joy for life. I have just past my second year of Herceptin on Sept 2011. I have been diagnosed with stage four, level four, metastitic breast cancer. I watched the movie 'Living Proof' and was brought to my knees. How amazing was the love of Dr Salmon for others to do what he did so that I may be saved. Words can not express the depth of gratitude I not only have for him but also my on going care with Prof Chan.
Very grateful for the makers of Herceptin. I would love to know how Louise is going since this was published ten years ago. I hope she is still running marathons
My first onco told me not to bother with chemo and herception as it would only make a 3% difference to my outcome. My 2nd opinion onco told me if I refused and the lobular HER2+ came back they would not be able to get rid of it only manange it. I took 2nd oncos advice and started the Pcclitaxle and Herception. I would like the Herception only but I think I wont get it without the Paclitaxle. I am in the UK paid for my NHS "care"

Just finished my chemo and started my targeted therapy which I have been told have to take for a year even after my operation.

I did herceptin for a year. So far so good, the doctors want me to take tamoxifen for 5 years, I side effects from the tamoxifen were bad. I have faith the herceptin is working.

Yes I also heard Tamoxifen is Bad! Hope your still or not on Herceptin! Not because I hope 🤞🏼 your better and don’t need to be on it! 🤗 😊 👍🏼
@@dilza3473 Herceptin isn’t that bad... You might have a little diarrhea, fatigue, kinda like a flu symptoms.... But we are all different, search Side effects.
No side effects really, good drug!

What was the second molecule in combination? Taxol? Would be interesting to know... God bless scientists.
is her 2 the same as triple negative breast cancer?
No. Triple negative BC is Her2, estrogen and progesterone negative. It’s difficult to treat as there is currently no targeted therapy for triple neg. Only toxic chemotherapy is used. Although there are more treatments being developed all the time, as there is lots of research into Breast Cancer, thankfully.
