I recently found two Roseville pieces and because of your smart advice Mr. Nomad IIwill sit on on them awhile longer. Each piece is $80.oo & up on Ebay. but like you said just because they are being offered at that price does not mean that is what they are worth. But considering I found them and had them put away for a solid decade wrapped in newspapers goes to show I thought at that time that thy may be worth something. They are trending up. People, (& friends) have laughed at the junk I have neatly organized & piled up in my two garages but when they saw me take in close to $400.oo CASH last year with my yard sale they were kinda silent all of a sudden. Ya!
My parents worked for GM in Michigan during the 50s and 60s. I have pictures of them as beatniks there. I remember them having some of that great Mid Century furniture and household stuff during that time.
Yay Lansing MI. I am originally from Mt. Pleasant, MI, born and raised there. All my family still live there. Only 70 miles NW from there. I didn't know there was that thrift store there. Great info. Watched from Pekin, IL
What an incredible shopping trip. You never disappoint with your extensive knowledge. That furniture was incredible but that glass compote was everything. Glad you got all the glass 😍
12:03 The feet came off an old tub. The store looks like could be a real goldmine if you hit it right. Thrift around here used to be hit or miss; now they're more miss than hit.
Another great visit. The Victorian furniture was just incredible. I think the stroller was the most ridiculous use of money, but t h e most beautiful thing to see! ❤❤❤
So, your comprehensive knowledge is not just limited to the antique world…I had never heard the story of how the Airplane came up with the title for the VOA song! Always enjoy your content, thank you George!
George, next time please purchase linens or purses with all the pieces and I am an expert seamstress, am able to repair those such things. I have done finger work since I was 11 years old, now 63. Love your content. Peace, love and light to you.❤
The new use for Carrom boards is playing them. Me and my friends broke my childhood one out and I've been playing it ever since then gone through several of them. We call it drunken pool we sit down and spin the table. We all have a blast and play the same schoolyard rules as we did when we were kids 2 fingers off the wall and everything😂
You never know what you will run into when you are out picking. What a fantastic store, the victorian furniture was amazing! Great buy on the glass pieces.
I would have paid the $14 and ran to the car with that Herman Miller aluminum group lounge chair! Oh wait, $1,459.00. NEVERMIND! I'd run the other way. You can't reupholster those because it takes a special machine to stretch that fabric onto the frame. Very nice elegant Italian glass.
I really like learning about the variability in prices depending upon availability of a piece in different areas of the country. Tell me more! Hope the Extravaganza was fun and profitable. Thanks George.
Ah you're in MI! I learn so much from you George! I'm from that wooden shoe tourist town 😉 We have tons of thrift and antique stores, I'd love to see what you find in my neck of the woods! Happy trails George! 🖤
Loved the Salviati. Last week, when I went up to get the latest batch of boxes from the estate I'm working on, I stopped at a couple of sales. Found a Galliano Ferro saucer shaped ash tray!!! That is staying with me😊
I would love to take a big truck and drive to the wide west a buy all the lovely things I see. I appreciate your knowledge, I love to learn about the rare pieces. I would love to have one of the antique beds.
George when you were in Lansing a short trip is to Lake Odessa with large 3 story mall, two story and small shops. Really packed full of shops off the beaten path.
Hey George thanks for sharing your life and good company. Thank you for good info about all kinds of things. I’m the gypsy and a picker and reseller as well. I buy sell trade and KEEP OH BOY LOL
Good evening, George! I'm going back and watching from the go...came in late on this one. I really love high-style Victorian, so Carriage House Antiques would've had me drooling. Loved that music box! A bit out of my price range, but it looked spectacular! There was a clock shelf, at 9:58, that caught my eye. OMG! that sofa/parlour set, at 10:30, is definitely my style! Loved the centre table, too. I liked that three-piece set, at 12:25, too, but not as much as the first set. The set at 12:33...Oh Yeah! I would've paid $65.00 for the lightning rod, too. "The Oak Staircase" book, at 14:05, caught my eye. I liked the graphics on the cover. You got a good deal on the Salviati dolphin comport. I can't get into the MCM or Murano, but the colours are great. That foyer mirror, at 16:27, was fantastic! You'd definitely need a high ceiling for it, but it would certainly make any foyer beautiful. I'm going nuts at all of the High Victorian furniture in one place! I've not seen that in ages. That painted Dutch sleigh carriage was fantastic! No idea where I'd put something like that, but it was beautiful. Wow! Carriage House Antiques was definitely a place I could go absolutely bonkers! Thanks for the take-along!
Hello! I knew you would appreciate this one, the furnishings are terrific and I do love a masterful Victorian piece. That sofa set was gorgeous! I missed the clock shelf and it is very nice in retrospect. The lightning rod and the Salviati were very different but very worthwhile finds for me! The Murano is for a specific taste, but you can't beat the colors. Had I a house with a high ceiling, a fine foyer mirror would be on the list! I have to make due with a regular dresser mirror. The sleigh carriage...talk about something I never expected to stumble on there. I knew you'd like this one!
@@TheAntiqueNomad I still can't get over that many true antiques and high style in one place, especially these days. If I walked into a shop that had that kind of antiques these days, it would definitely be a "pinch me" moment!
The next time you’re in Michigan check out Mikes antiques in Millington. They have very similar high end pieces. There are also many antique shops that have popped up in Birch Run, just down the road.
I’m going to be there in Michigan Sept 30th. Where is that shop at? I liked those teacups. The second shop you were in I loved the Lamp. My daughter in Michigan loves old furniture and I’m going to be there animal sitting. It’s her anniversary Oct 1st. Maybe I will go there to check out that older pieces. Her house is restored 1930’s home.
I find it so funny to see how much they ask for the European furnitures in America. Here in the Netherlands you can by a cabinet or vanity with marble for between 100-500 euro. Depends on the state of it. Maybe i need to start a shop. Bying here and selling in America.😂 I have a antiques in my house. Love it. And your video´s to.
It is true, we've had European furniture importers here for years because it's much more unusual to us than to you. However, the cost to export has become almost prohibitive for a lot of American dealers now
Wow - what a deal on the glass! Does it glow? The Vic furniture is fantastic! I was drooling! LOVE to see the houses that some of that stuff came out of! I hope he is moving to an area where they are building a lot of McMansions because I would be afraid some of that furniture would come crashing through the ceiling in this old house!
It doesn't glow, but it doesn't need to because it's by the designer it is...I imagine some fine houses gave up those pieces, it would be amazing to see their original homes!
I had to chuckle when you mentioned using those center tables as lamp tables. I don't even have a corner big enough for that! I have a lovely mahogany leather topped one sitting in the middle of my living room with no place to go because it won't fit in my bowling lane living room in this old Dutch Colonial. Didn't want to, but I guess I will sell it. @@TheAntiqueNomad
I like when you educate us on furniture. I'm currently looking for an English armoire to store linens. But I really love art deco and art nuevoulle. I'm going þo head for the Antique Pavillion in Lynnwood and the Antique Mall in Snohomish Washington.
Thx George!
Wow, that European bedroom set is something else!!
Lots of ceramics today. One of my fav things
Love birds eye maple!!!
I do too!
Hi !! ❤ i love the furniture!!! AND the lamp...
"Charrington" is a company that brews beer, They supply pubs.
Never disappointed on a shopping trip with you!! So much gorgeousness!!!
There really was in this one!
Gyuui
hat lighting rod, $150.00 all day here in NH Very sought after here anything like that.
Fun video George! Thanks for sharing!
Another great video ❤. JoAnn
Carriage House Antiques -- WOW. Just wow! Thank you, George, for showing us all of that drop-dead gorgeous antique furniture.

I love all that Victorian furniture.
Love Victorian things
So nice to show a lot of real antiques!
Getting close to my area George!
I haven't seen furniture like those pieces in a very long time. Wow.
It isn't commonly seen these days, I was impressed!
My parents worked for GM in Michigan during the 50s and 60s. I have pictures of them as beatniks there. I remember them having some of that great Mid Century furniture and household stuff during that time.
How cool! My parents were not that hip

Very cool! If you ever get back there, you have a place to shop
I need a nap, there is so much good knowledge to take-in in your videos
I sometimes need one myself after editing them! Lol
I especially love this store //memories down every aisle.
Agreed
I like that Moreno dish as well very pretty nice antique mall thanks for sharing 👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
What an incredible shopping trip. You never disappoint with your extensive knowledge. That furniture was incredible but that glass compote was everything. Glad you got all the glass 😍
Thanks!
Wow, I did not know Michigan has a rich Victorian history. I want the round table
Wasn't that amazing?
12:03 The feet came off an old tub. The store looks like could be a real goldmine if you hit it right. Thrift around here used to be hit or miss; now they're more miss than hit.
Neat finds
Hey, wildgeorge, that was a neat place I wish I had a home big enough to put all that meat furniture in. You find the needest places.❤😊❤😊❤😊
I really lucked out finding that one!
Lots of exciting pieces in this video.😊
Another great visit. The Victorian furniture was just incredible. I think the stroller was the most ridiculous use of money, but t h e most beautiful thing to see! ❤❤❤
It really was incredible, and yes, the sleigh owner clearly was born with a silver spoon! Not practical but beautiful
That Victorian furniture was impressive!
I haven’t seen its likes in awhile
I always love your videos and I got a good laugh because I've still got my George Foreman grill. 😂
They were really good, that's why there's so many around!
So, your comprehensive knowledge is not just limited to the antique world…I had never heard the story of how the Airplane came up with the title for the VOA song! Always enjoy your content, thank you George!
You're so welcome! They were my favorite band when I was very very little
Good evening everyone 🦩🌴🌞
Hi Joanne!
That blue Murano dish is now sitting in my living room. Thanks George
Yay!❤❤❤
That was Fun! So happy that you got a good deal on the glass pieces. You never disappoint us with interesting items and information. Safe travels ❤
Thank you so much!
This is good to hear! The stores in Columbus Ohio rarely have much worthwhile vintage/antique.
That's disappointing, but they're good elsewhere in Ohio and the region!
Good evening from the Midwest, enjoy your videos 😊
Good evening to you too! Thanks
Hi George. 🙂
The furniture was amazing 😊
Thank you George for sharing your expertise! 😊
My pleasure!
Thanks for the nice video😊

Love shopping with you! I learn so much and love seeing all the goodness!

Always so much fun to go along with you to see what the rest of the country likes. ❤👍 love it. Thanks, I so look forward to videos.
More to come! I'm glad you have fun with it like I do
Well ding dang it! If I had known you were here, George , I would have come to see you!
I wasn't expecting to be in that part of Michigan either!

That furniture is beautiful to look at for sure. Can't afford that but still beautiful. You have a great day and safe travels
Thanks George. I always enjoy your shop alongs.
Glad you like them! I have fun showing you all
I grew up there, little town south of Lansing called Danville, next time your up there go to Mason, they have a ton of Antiques!
I keep hearing Mason is a place to go!
Beautiful things !!!
I think so too!
Leaving extra Comments helps George's Channel .
There used to be a VOA in Mt. Vernon, WA! It's been gone for years now.
Yes, they've cut back quite a bit. I'd forgotten about the old Mt. Vernon store
thank you for your vast knowledge base,,
So nice of you! I'm glad to do it
I’m new to watching your channel, and so appreciate all of your information! I made my way here after watching you with Jocelyn (CLL).
Terrific! I really enjoy Jocelyn and it was fun to do that together, I'm glad it brought you over to my channel!

I figured those wouldn't be easy to restore, but I think with a little colorant they could tone out the worn spots and preserve it
Thank you for passing on your knowledge, you are amazing
My word those prices are high! Given the fact that not too many people have ceilings high enough for that type of furnitue. Wow!
It's not for the faint of heart or a thin pocketbook...I'm sure those items were and are again intended for wealthy people in great manors
I really like learning about the variability in prices depending upon availability of a piece in different areas of the country. Tell me more! Hope the Extravaganza was fun and profitable. Thanks George.
