I have a new holland 54d its pretty much the same as the farmall 55c ....i use 15w40 Rotella t6 oil in mine year around and here in ontario we get some nasty cold weather ....never had an issue . My service intervals are quite tight ...i have been told by shell lubricants that im changing my fluids prematurely but i have always used a 250 service intervals on all our equipment here .... on our farm we base services on a 3 week work period leaving us approximately 50 hours of cushon in case the machine is busy in a field working .....it seems like alot of services but in the long run we have not had nearly the amount of failures as we did in the past
