Great video! Also you do not have to use a keybind to enable/disable it. There are settings to enable and disable tobi in certain circumstances in game. Such as: Mobi Glass, FPS, Sitting, Focus use such as on an MFD (As irony would have it, remember when the Vanduul ships couldn't use the star map? A work-around was to enable tobii tracking for the star map.) You do not have to have it disabled to re-center it. There is a function you can use to re-center it automatically and under certain circumstances, such as Mobi Glass usage. You can also bind a key specifically to re-center it. I use F key for my re-center. Same as Focus key etc, and CTRL+F to exit seat. This re-center keybind works in any circumstance, but the only thing you have to do is make sure you are positioned correctly in your seat, and looking forward at the center of the screen. Look up/down/left/right for example will change the center point. You can also do a zoomed re-center by leaning forward, and when you go back to normal resting position you have a wider FOV of the cockpit in front of you. (Track IR is better for this than Tobii though) Did not know about position offsets: Good to know may try it myself. That head tracking roll while seated is not what you say it is: It is specifically if you tilt your head to one side or the other. Turn it off if you want, but people rarely tilt their heads side to side so most of the time you may not notice it. Except Buzz of course :D Also EF Gaze based targeting lol I turn that crap off, I also turn off auto zoom in every circumstance as well, because it plays hell with tobii. You don't need to use those functions to turn off gaze based targeting either. There are options farther down, to change gaze to 100% head tracking. By default it is set to 0.85 change it to 1.0 and it will stop all gaze based target locks and only use head tracking. And you can still use head tracking to missile lock a target that is not in front of you. Say the target is to the side and behind you while you are rolling away from it. Yes your missiles will fire and track the target that is not in front of you. "Think Fire and forget" I use this, but I guess not everyone might.
I have to give you credit, i have watched a lot of Tobii setup videos and they always seem to overcomplicate, and adjust way too much. With your video it's straight to the point and very detailed at that!
Great video. Thank you for sharing. As always your videos are very informative, straight to the point and extremely helpful for other players to help them have a better ingame experience like they do for me. You personally are making the game even much better to enjoy playing it. Thank you again. Cheers Semper
Aw. Well thank you I'm glad you feel that way and that these videos help. I think a lot of the stuff people cover doesn't need to come off as too complicated nor does it take a long time to explain. Imo. :)
Even if you want immersion and tons of features the learning curve is serious, and will involve muscle memory as much as anything else. My advice would be to start with something at or near your settings, then add back in other features individually. Building from a simple foundation makes it much easier to understand what is going on. Excellent video, as always.
The yaw and the pitch range will control how far you can look up and down and left and right the center stabilization is a very important slider also along with the world input scale which will control how much it picks up your little inputs it can add or take away the Jitter I leave that at default very good video thank you
Awesome tips, thank you very much for showing how the options work! I've just been using it without any options, and it's annoying in FPS (non-piloting) mode... Now I know to turn it on and off when needed. And there is no need to be a Tobii schill - it's just such an awesome piece of technology, it promotes itself :)
You're very welcome! And I do actually enjoy the product personally. But I know some people like to accuse people of promoting things. So I wanted to be clear about it is all.
Very informative video! I was curious about these recently as iv been trying the head tracking. I have gotten trackir working with aitrack but noticed with these two programs running my fps is slightly worst so I was curious if tobii was more optimized. Thanks for the condensed and informative content!
Check out Grass Monkey Simulations. Better specs than tobii and made by a guy in West Virginia with an obsession for flight simulators and a 3D printer. Mine is amazing. Super easy to set up. Cheaper by a little bit.
eyeware beam and opentrack software might be for you. just transform your webcam or smartphone to do the eye tracking, way cheaper and works great in Star Citizen, just google or youtube eyeware beam
My big hesitation, how natural does it feel to look at something thats not really their but you thibk its their, your screen is only so big but you are trying to look beyond the screen. If that made sense thank you, but thats the part i cant imagine feeling natural and making it more of a burden

Exactly what I needed. Nice one, thanks.

As always, great tips. Made the adjustments to my Tobii Eye.
Hope it helped
@@BuzzCutPsycho every bit does.
I just wish they would get the servers running better, which is another topic. 😆
All you need to know without any BS. Much appreciated!
No BS, just facts

Thanks man. This is a great point too. I go for just the most basic myself. A lot of those sliders I've personally just found no use for.
While expensive Head tracking has been a huge nice to have for both SC and DCS.
It does make a huge difference. Makes SC way more playable.

Nice one thanks, some options to mess around with.
No problem 👍
I like this guy👍
Hey thanks. Its good to be liked
Big thanks

So the FPS is bad in Tobii too according to some users. I do NOT know of the cause or fix for this sadly.
Do you leave the red circle on? I will be getting Tobii in the future. As always I appreciate the no BS tutorials!
no i do not. i just had it on for video only
Can this be used to interactions with boxes, doors, etc?
yes
Considering the insane price of the Tobii right now, dont see myself getting one until I’m able to fully upgrade the PC.
YOu aint wrong, it is absurd.

You only have one eye? Or is Tobii just displaying one circle?
One circle. I am not cool enough to only have one eye.
@@BuzzCutPsychoYou can still wear the eye patch though, I won't tell anyone.
Do… do you often move your eyes independently to look in two places at once?
Cus, uh, I can’t do that…
@@piedpiper1172 it requires some practice, but I'm sure you could learn it too.

Yep, these are pretty much exactly my settings. They annoyed me for the same reason.

It feels pretty natural to me. I just move my head irl and my head moves in game.
