I'm a fan of your work, so I say just make the most of it. I'm an aspiring UA-cam gamer, and even I agree that how UA-cam selects your audience is bonkers, unorthodox. Take a risk, ride the waves of everyone else in your shoes, and have fun with it. Either way, I'm cheering you on from here.
The logic of the youtube
Seems like UA-cam is being more serious with the videos now. I think that if any videos is set to "Made for kids", some functions will be disabled in that videos like: Comment, Notification bell, Autoplay, etc.
It doesn't matter if is for kids or not... Your animations are cool and great mate!! 😀😀😉😉

This is how UA-cam works, dude
When people make videos with swear words or blood, etc. Then UA-cam says it's made for kids.
But when people make good and funny videos, UA-cam monetize the good videos, not the babies or kids one, but the memes and sh**s.

There is already a petition of this and a roblox youtube meeting a guy from ftc in dc so all in all there might be a chance for the rule to not happen but we need to try our best now and we need to take things into our hands now since youtube barely pays attention to US anyway

There's no more "general audience" option. ALL my videos were made for a general audience. Many videos are impossible to categorize. It's mass confusion. The list of what's "kid-friendly" goes on and on and on, but if we MIS-label anything (i. e. if it's "for kids" and we don't realize it has something in it which is inappropriate), then we are in even more trouble. I am trying to take mine one video at a time, but it might mean that ONLY kids can watch. And kids do NOT watch my channel! There's nothing bad in it, but it's just stuff that would bore kids half to death. Soif no one watches, this will lead to zero views, and I will likely have my account deleted. This is, as UA-cam has already stated, a cull.

That's how i understood and made it short. But seriously, i have enough. I'm sick of submiting a dictatorship by old f... who didn't get a mind update on current youth and kids' generation. Get a grip guys, kids are globaly not babies and some of them are wise enough to understand as more they age let people assuming to. And youtube is NOT NECESSARILY a tv, what i learn in freakin europe and france is that "youtubers are artists and we can't shut mouth to a good artist". And on top of that, some kids play adult games and they're fine. If some kids are afraid they shall have the ability to watch something else lol. So FTC don't have to play the "perfect parents" cause they're not. Don't let them bring you down, we have the chance to be creative and doing what we love to do, so we SHALL NOT be afraid of them, be brave guys. You are creator we are creators.

This whole thing is stupid, firstly, coppa is a law in America, it applies to everyone from every country because UA-cam is located in America, second they're gonna charge you up to 42K dollars because parents don't look after they're children when watching UA-cam, this whole law is dumb

Look I have an idea. This law is vague as shit as there are a lot of animators including myself that don't target kids when they create their content, but UA-cam's algorithm does. So in order to stay "safe" on the world's most popular platform and give your content one of the BEST opportunities to grow an audience?
Set it as "For kids." Like I said our videos might not be FOR kids, but we still have animations in our content that could draw their attention and it's better to be safe than sorry. Now, of course, that means no ad revenue, but honestly, that's only ONE of the MANY sources of income that content creators can make so it can easily be replenished elsewhere.
But once you have an established fan base and enough eyes on your channel there's brand deals, merchandise and even our OWN self inserted ads similar to what television does with commercials? Yeah, why don't we just do that ourselves?? Like how many commercials are we FORCED to sit through when people wanna see the latest Game of Thrones episode?
But the thing about UA-cam is that you can simply skip forward in the video and ignore it OR if your subscribers are interested they can follow up on it and find out more about it using whatever promo code we give them. And that's always been the beauty behind UA-cam as a platform. The fact that it gives you options! I think by using this method it allows us to ignore whatever obviously BROKEN algorithm that UA-cam has and it lets us rely on our OWN steady income sources.
The last point is when you switch a video to "for kids"...which once again my content and probably your's ISNT but fk that 42,000 fine so...yeah our subscribers aren't notified when our latest videos come out, but once again I look at television's model. Because they don't have a "notification box" reminding viewers to watch yet millions of people always know when to tune into a show. Because these TV companies are consistent! with their content! People know when The Simpsons or South Park comes on like the back of their hands and that's because they always show the shows at the same times each week. Be it 7pm Wednesday or 10pm Friday and the people that care enough about that show WILL remember that time slot and WILL come back to watch it.
And as to how do we have our viewers know WHEN our videos come out on these consistent time slots similar to television shows? We periodically make a video that's labeled NOT "For kids" directing our subscribers to our channels, cause our content was never fkin "for kids" in the first place, and upload a video with the sole purpose of notifying our subscribers of WHEN and WHAT time our videos will be out and HOW they can watch them. I mean it's on us creators to think of...creative solutions after all right? We're not redirecting them to another site nor do I believe we'd then be breaking any guidelines. The irony of it all is that we have to find loopholes to get people to watch our UA-cam videos cause UA-cam fked up and can't let them.
So that's my advice and it's what I plan to do. Hope it's of some help to you and any other content creators out there until this vague system of "no bright colors kids might like or you're fined" is fixed. Best of luck from another guy chasing his dreams...

idk man i've been on UA-cam as a channel/ content creator for 4.5+ years and it took me that long to get to 1630 members on my channel. i've lived through a lot of UA-cam's weird things and i will be very upset if my channel gets deleted because i have 230+ videos with about 70 more about to be posted that i will never recover and have no other platform to grow on easier than youtube or at all in that matter. UA-cam is becoming less and less for all of us content creators.
