It's crazy how the evolution of Sonic music is sort of reflecting my evolution in music taste. I started getting into hard rock, metal, house, dubstep, and breakcore before Frontiers and even more after beating the game.
Yeah. That's one of the motives I LOVE Sonic music. His songs always follow an evolution of periods. Like, in Sonic 1 and 2 you had an 80's dreamy J-Pop feeling. After that, CD straight up bangs you with 90's Techno House/Deep House/Eurodance club type of thing. Then, Sonic 3 & Knuckles goes with New Jack Swing, in general, and a bit of Hard Rock. Same can be applied to the Adventure series, where's SA1 has a Rock Fusion/Disco mix and SA2 placing specific music styles for each character, such as Ska Punk, Electro Rock, Industrial EBM, Garage, etc. 3:01
@fireboltchamploo7620 Same, This Franchise Started mostly with Rock Music just like me, And Then They Started making Techno/Electronic Music, otherwise know as EDM, just like me, you could say that my Taste Of Music has changed with Sonic Over The Years, changing From a Music Genre to Another Music Genre!!!
It's been a year since Cyber Space Mix has dropped. Now, it finally returns! YES!!! Ohtani never fails to make awesome Sonic pieces of music and remixes for 2 decades.
Rintaro Soma will be the next frontrunner of Sonic soundtracks in the future, I can feel it. Not only was he impressive on his debut with this game, but he immediately made some absolute bangers for Sonic Superstars.
agreed, but he only did 3 of the cyber space remixes. the rest were Kanon Oguni, Kenji Mizuno, and Rintaro Soma. all of which are wonderful composers and arrangers!
@@ANDRESLOPEZ_24am I allowed to dislike a game that everyone else likes? Ya know, like this one? I don't really like sonic frontiers. The only thing good about it is that it's able to make other people happy. I just think the free roam is a little bit weird. The skill tree is great, but it just makes sonic fight like in an anime which is weird. The Titan bosses look cool but the music used in them is a bit weird. I like that the soundtrack is made in the genres of rave, trance, and sometimes hardcore uptempo. It is very cool! the series has previously had tracks of Eurodance genres and rave themes, sonic cd and Riders are an example of this
@@JoeDaBoiThey just seem to be the same ones from Unleashed-Colors-Gens, I guess the team decided to reimplement or recreate the animations for whatever reason.
The fact that they started with Arrow of Time is beyond perfect ❤ And lmao? All the soundtracks chosen for this video are legit all my favorite Cyberspace levels in order. What the heck, Katie? How did you know? 😂😂😂❤
Arrow of Time remix is one I've listened to so much since The Final Horizon came out. 4-C is such a fun level to speedrun. The spin dash is so good on corners there. Generally, the 9 new cyberspace stages were designed with spin dash in mind. There are plenty of slopes sending you to other slopes, which made speedrunning so good. And that doesn't mean they skip on good'ol platforming either, because you still have to route pathways and realize where's the best place to use the spin dash. There are also plenty of moments you're encouraged to slow down to save flickies, go through numbered rings and collect silver moon medals. If this is the level design we're gonna get in the next game, Frontiers 2's boost stages have the chance to surpass Generations's quality as a whole. In fact, 4-H might just be in my top 5 favorite boost stages ever.
@@OtterWithAController 4-4 is the best cyberspace stage from the original 30. However, it's not quite an S tier for me because it's a bit too linear. It has great gimmicks and platforming courses, but not much when it comes to experimentation. 4-H takes these ideas and offers more room for experimentation and multiple pathways. I love the plenty of floating tilted blocks because you can spin dash from them and launch very high. Saving flickies requires you to purposely take the lower path and platform on these tilted blocks and slowly go back up. The numbered rings are spread throughout the entire stage, which make them hard but very satisfying to get. The only thing it sadly misses is the "press the switch to continue" gimmick the OG stage had. Anywhere else, it's a clear improvement. The amount of freedom you are given with shortcuts and seeing how all the paths are connected is insane. 4-B, 4-C and 4-G are also benefitted from this design choice (arguably even better than 4-H), but 4-H is overall better for being longer and having more interesting platforming. 4-H is nearly on par with modern Seaside Hill from Generations (my favorite stage from that game).
@@roiitzkovich4545i agree so much! you're still intended to take multiple paths if you want to 100% the level, meaning you're never truly skipping over the level if you do use spindash some levels make spindash tricky to use even
@@roiitzkovich4545 4-B is actually one of my FAVORITE stages in the series now. It's SUCH a fun and tense stage, even if it was the one I spent the longest on. 4-A, 4-G, 4-H, and 4-I are all fantastic stages because of how open and creative they are, and I have a soft spot for 4-E (especially because I love the new Dropaholic Remix). I think my least favorite remix stage is probably 4-F (Hype Street Remix) because it suffers the same issues as 2-4 in that it's WAY too short despite the new multiple pathways.
@@OtterWithAController That's my 2nd favorite. The amount of different pathways and the way they all interconnect with each other is mind blowing. At times it feels like you're inventing your own pathways. The only thing holding this level back is the last segment with the crumbling platforms. I swear they're falling too fast and I can't read the way to consistently deal with them.
Everyone praises ohtani here which is deserved, but i'd love for Kanon Oguni to be a constant in the series moving forward! (yall didnt keep Cash Cash, at least let me have this)
This game deserved best soundtrack at last year's Game Awards and I'm not listening to anyone that says otherwise. Can't believe it wasn't even nominated.

2:50 Sonic carrying and caring for a small, helpless rabbit while staring off into an unknown, cyber hellscape is surprisingly beautiful
I agree with how beautiful that was!
I wish I could think that. All I can focus on is the utter hell of those rescue missions.
