What's your favorite Ip Man fight scene?
Probably wheee he uses the feather thing on that one dude

I don’t even know who Ip man is😂
IP Man vs. Cheung Fung.
@@almondmilk3014 The man who trained Bruce Lee, you uncultured swine
One of the best martial arts movie franchise ever.
No duh
So wright
@Kyle Reese actually.... It's not sucked. It's just different. But you have your own opinion.
@Kyle Reese it's not sucked. It's just different, but you have your own opinion.
@@t.e.atheexclusivea3835 Eww you must be a gay person then
He wasn’t just a master, he was the GRAND Master
He is a hyper grandmaster
Ip Man is my favorite Donnie Yen character.
I can't imagine anyone else portraying the titular master.
Check Donnie as Guan Yu in the lost bladesman. Just as epic.
One time I heard or read about Donnie that he looked up all of Bruce Lee's speeds and Donnie said he's faster than Bruce Lee
Same
Eddie C that’s cool but I prefer Ip man and his role in 14 blades
The 1 Vs. 10 fight was one of the few 'One Versus Many' fights I've seen in media where the One is interacting with more than one or two of the many. Ip Man was literally fending off 4 or 5 attackers at the same time at some parts in that fight. Such stellar choreography.
And it was one of the times IP man showed no mercy at beating his opponents, he literally broke bones of the 10 Karate students.
Yeah. Most 1vs many guys fight scenes are the 1 guy fighting 1 opponent at once. It’s weird to see the opponents attacking in turns
This is why Ip man movies are so good
And when he "Fast Punch" opponent to the ground, nobody else hit him.
Excellent cinematography, but, not plausible.
What was good about IP vs Twister, was that even though IP has mastered Wing Chun to its max he realizes there’s not much Wing Chun can do against the size and style of Twister. Realizing that Master Hungs style was more suited for that kind of battle and that master hung could have beaten twister were he not ill. Thus why he adopted his moves into his own and beating him.
But he wasn’t allowed to kick in the movie, so wing chun was good enough.
That really annoyed me about this scene to be honest. There were a lot of street fights in Hong Kong in the 60s and 70s. WingChun fighters like Wong Sheun Leung fought boxers and even Russian wrestlers in order to test their martial art and see what worked and didn’t in reality.
Anyway, the movies are supposed to show that wing chun can adapt.
@@makasete30 It's not so much that Wing Chun adapts. It's more reliant on the fighter to know how to adapt period. This was basically the entire philosophy that Bruce Lee believed in. Boxers have lots of weaknesses even though many don't like to admit it. IP man 2 and 3 both show that off to a degree. Boxers make their legs easy targets and they can't defend kicks very well.
@@gagetaylor192 boxers does not have much weaknesses at all when we talking about sports. btw ip man vs twister scene makes no sense because twister have big gloves and ip man have no gloves at all, and thats because kung fu is completely useless in combat unless they can use illegal finger jabs to sensitive areas and acupuncture stuff. put boxing gloves on any kung fu figher against a boxers with same gloves and the boxers beats the shit out of the kung fu fighter 100 times out of 100. kung fu and all that is very old and was originally used for warfare and to kill the enemy by any means necessary. in sports no one beats a top boxer when it comes to just hand to hand combat. the only one i could see beat them would´ve been bruce lee himself because of all the knowledge from different styles to be able to adapt to anything and his superior speed and overall fitness, the guy was obsessed with martial arts. while bruce lee had very quick legs those who knew him always said that his speciality was his hands and his unrivalled speed which makes sense because he started out with wing chun as his base martial art
No the only reason ip had a tough time was he wasn’t allowed to kick otherwise he’d give twister a big disadvantage cuz twister only was good at punching
I knew that "GIVE ME TEN" was going to be number 1
Facts as soon as I saw 2. I knew it was 1
Those kids lucky ip man didn’t roll up his sleeves.
🤣😂
LUCKY THEY WERENT IN THE FIRST MOVIE
"Top 20 Ip Man fights"
So all of his fights basically in the movies.
Do you know any of his fights in history other than the movies
*Sorry for my english*
Robert Thomson it’s cause they didn’t think of filming all of his fights. Probably couldn’t spend money on video equipment either. Like how would they know Bruce Lee would be famous?

Ip man characters strongest to weakest:
1. ip man (1 - 2)
2. bruce lee
3. ip man (3) / Frank
4. Twister
5. Master Hung
6. tin chi / sadi the warrior
7. ip man (4)
8. general miura
9. gunnery sergeant barton geddes
10. tai chi guy
11. 10 black belts combined
12. owen davidson
13. elevator muay thai guy
14. northerner
15. collin frater
16. karate champion
17. tsao ngan kwan
18. every other fighters & masters
100. Jonah's school bullies
Frank easily be top two, at least he can kill twister considering they both are boxers
@@choccotacco4752 well it depends. if u are talking about the character, he is not that good. but if you're talking tyson, well no one can take a punch. not even bruce
Lol bro u got twister way too high
I would put frank/Tyson higher than twister for sure. and ya Donnie was talking about how he was nervous shooting that scene with Tyson cuz if Tyson forgot a move, say did a left hook instead of a right one Donnie would end up in hospital -_-
General Miura is one of the weakest main villains for sure. Ip Man doesn't struggle in his fight with Miura at all.
What I love about Chinese martial art action scenes is how great the fight choreography is. Smooth, fast-paced and intense.
Ulysses Cedeño and you can actually see the action, istead of seeing it through a shaky lens
After watching all the movies I know that Ip Man was holding back a lot after Ip Man 1. Many times I could see that he could have used very fatal/lethal attacks on weak spots(hitting wind pipes, kicking the balls, stabbing the eye, dislocating joints) but he held back and only used them in life or death situations.
It was said that Ip Man developed Wing Chun as self-defense but then Bruce Lee changed it into a lethal/killing method. The movies showed that Ip Man is a master of both arts depending on the situation.
When i was a kid i used to imitate his training in the wooden man using a coat hanger stand

jbdagamersc facts
Agreed
Indeed
Not gonna argue with you....
I will remember this for a very long time. Reminiscent of how good HK martial art films were during Britain rule of HK.
My personal favorite is 1v1 vs the General Miura. The fight was perfect, and the cinematography so on point, with the shots harkening back to him working the wooden man. So beautifully done
True. To me the Cheung Tin Chi fight was better due to its flashy choreography and it was an even match due to him and Sifu Ip being under Wing Chun. Both countered each other with such precision
In my opinion that elevator scene with his wife was one of the top fight scenes for me. It was great, so many levels of emotions.
Fun fact:
Ip Man can beat Thanos.
boh
Facts
@ETERNALLY INFINITE Thanos can erase him
@@sanomanjiro7687 Thanos is pretty shit bro, typical western superhero/villain. Has power handed to them without earning it. One of the reasons why Superman is such a boring character.
Cringe, what does thanos have to do with this anyway
*I love Ip Man, Donnie Yen is Ip Man just like RDJ is Iron Man.*
Obviously, only, donnie yen has other good movies too, unlike Robert
@@1Crazyguitarist1 true but also bc Robert is so iconic to the role ppl get triggered when they see him in other movies.
@@jasonhushmonkey that might be the case but that doesn't change the fact that he is a good actor not just the perfect guy for the iron man role
And how mike tyson is mike tyson
Donnie Yen received Wing Chun training from Ip Man's son for the Ip Man series
Didn't know the english dub sounds so bad
Yeah it's pretty laughable at times and weird in others. I'd say watch the dub the first time so you can see the action well, then once you know the story, go back and watch it in original
I watched the dub first, its actually pretty enjoyable :D but I do have to agree to get the full effect I watched the sub as well.
It doesn't really make sense sorry wise though since it's supposed to be about Japanese forces invading Chinese areas & the translators in the movie play an important part. If everyone is speaking English then certain characters literally play no part. Pls just watch the original
Dubbing was never, as in NEVER EVER, a good idea. 😅
It’s odd, cuz Donnie Yen’s English is pretty good if I recall.
Donnie Yan's most Iconic role is here in "the IP Man". This is truly a masterpiece that was created only for Him. It never runs out of martial arts techniques and high power actio from the start of the movies until it ends.. Bravo for this!
You right
As a martial artist, it puts a smile on my face seeing Donnie played this role to perfection, literally and figuratively. 💯💯💯💯💚💚💚. It puts a smile on my face.
definitely agree with number 1 choice here. Its the only fight in the entire series where you get to see what happens if Ip Man wants to destroy you rather than teach you a lesson. There is no other fight where Ip Man actually tries to take out his opponent immediately without educating his opponent first
“He is not to be trifled with” Haha That gave me chills tbh
1 vs 10 will always remain the best IP Man fights of all time ..
It is because of Donnie Yen's performance in all the IP Man movies, that I study Wing Chun.
Cool bro can't wait to do it myself
Good fortune in your quest !!!
23:03 " I Didn't Come Here For The Rice" But Their Blood. 😂😂🤣🤣
just finished the movies, this man was a legend
Every fight scene is literally epic
The most humble kungfu master my number 1 favorite !!!!!
“I didn't come here for the rice”
~Donnie Yen
The only reason he's so good is because he's one with the force and the force is with him
Hahaha very nice
The only reason why Donnie is that fast and good is that the guy that trained Bruce Lee is also the same guy that trained Donnie
They had a chance to give donnie a lightsaber... and somebody who actually KNEW how to use a sword....
Donnie Yen was the best choice for great master Ip man. It is so little known about this man and Donnie did great job presented that great grandmaster of kung fu, especially wing chun...🥊🥋🀄🏯♋🇨🇳 greetings from Slovenia 🇸🇮
Donnie Yen as Ip Man is the definition of perfect casting.
he is the producer, the first movie was made due to ip man's grandson wants to bring more attention to wing chun, so the grandson actually help with some of the facts and the kung fu directing.
Ip Man fighting and defeating 10 Black Belts sent chills down my spine
And the best part is. He doesn’t get hit *once*
That moment when ip man interfered with colin frater from finishing that kungfu lady off is probably as epic as when batman appeared in dark knight rises. Or even more epic.
Donnie is one of the best out there. He's powerful because the Force is with him... wait till he gets a light sabre :D
Man: Punches.
Barney: Gives hugs and blocks punch.
Every single saga was absolutely amazing...BEAST and always calm
The fight choreographer in Ip Man 4 was Yuen Wo Ping (famous for a lot of fight choreography in old school jackie chan and the matrix).
Little known fact (unless you are a fan), but Donny Yen who played Ip Man was actually trained by Ip Man's son (although I dont remember which one).
I do know that Ip Chun (Man's first son) actually appears in the 2013 movie - the Final Fight as a convenience store owner, taking phone calls and messages for master IP.
Ip Chun is portrayed in the Donnie Yen series as the young child and is still currently going strong at 97 years of age
The final fight in Ip man 2 was the best. No question. It was the first Ip man movie I saw and it got me to watch all 4. No matter how many times I rewatch them I don't get bored.
Was nice to see Donnie Yen and Scott Adkins in a movie together.
Agreed! Scott Adkins is so underrated
Scott should just work in Hong Kong imo. Hollywood doesn't alpreciate his talents.
@Jack Adams it's Hong Kong not China, that's something else.
Also no other country makes action the Hong Kong way and Scott is a big big fan just check out his channle and watch his interviews of other martial artists.
Ip Man is my favorite Donnie Yen character.
Facts. 2 of my 5 favorites all time. Donnie Yen , Max Zhang , Wu Jing , Scott Adkins , Michael Jai White.
I knew the Ip Man vs 10 black belts scene has to be number 1
That was the BEST Ip Man fight scene EVER.... hell yeah !
Happy Birthday Donnie Yen, Ip Man! Thank you for making all these movies, truly wonderful and awesome series!
watched whole series during quarantine
Elevator fight was awesome!
Everybody thought Cheng was the antagonist of Ip man 3, but in my opinion, he was more of just an anti hero
I agree. He may have had a different way of thinking and style of Wing Chun than Master Yip but he wasn't really a bad guy
He was more of a rival with different point of view the Yang to the Yin the ideals to the truths (may have put it backwards on the second one) his views on how tradition should only be passed around was his downfall and not allowing change the reason why Bruce Lee is one of the greatest martial artists is because he adapted change and made his style of martial arts fit speed style and strength the reason why Ip Man is possibly the greatest Wing Chun Martial artists is because he learned both the traditional and the non traditional style of Wing Chun and adapted his Wing Chun to add more flexibility in movement while fighting
Antagonists are not exactly Villains. They are simply against the Protagonists. Not because they are bad, evil or even wrong. They are simply the opposition.
VERY tastefully edited, NOT toooo many AD's, like EVERY other UA-camr! LIKED & SUBSCRIBED, Thank You.
My husband has studied this fighting style for 20 years. Wing Chun is amazing. They things you can do in close quarters like the elevator, wow.
And you're very accurate about using the opponents weight and force against them. So true.
My dad actually did Wing Chun for quite a while. Pretty sure he was a brown belt, and, after "sparring" with him a few times, I realized just how dangerous this style actually is
One thing I've always appreciated with various forms of Martial Arts is Honour and Respect for your opponent.
No one man's integrity is greater than the other's
Absolutely loved this thank u!!!!!
For me, Ip man series has the best fighting scenes that look very authentic. All the more they are great movies with great stories.
No one can replace Donnie yen . He is the best person to play the role of Ipman

watched all the parts - several times. Not only the fight scenes are great but also the whole scenery, music and atmosphere in these movies.
I knew #1 would be there, every time I introduce a friend to this series ,it’s that scene.

Amazing compilation. I agree with your order
All these IP Man films had amazing cinematography and production design, along with great music.

work for masters.
@skyout Too bad you being in a relationship doesn't work in real life either.
Watching Ip man series always makes me cry. And Kenji Kawai is a master musician who made those heartfelt background musics.
Donny Yen as Ip man is legendary
If Mike landed that final uppercut, an R would have been added for Ip Man.
Edit: Also it is my firm belief that Ip Man deserves a beat-em-up video game.
I’d recommend for you all to watch Master Z: The Ip Man Legacy with Cheung Tin Chi as the main character. Watch before Ip Man 4: The Finale.
It was very wirey but it’s still a pretty good movie
Master hung only lost because he didn’t have his medicine
I like how everyone just gets obliterated when Ip Man joins the fight.

as a person whole loves old kung fu movies, this series of movies is a great one, and i hope they make more under the MASTER Z brand simply because of how well made they are.
I think they will spin off the story with Bruce Lee. He has shown some good acting and fighting in Ip Man 4. Hope it becomes true

Ip man is just incredible. it reminds me of the great Chinese movies of the 70s
Ip Man trains against wooden man statues, so that he wooden lose.
I love it when IP man does the "ORA ORA ORA" thing
Watched them all!!
Considering he ignored all the rumors said about him just so he could spend more time with his dying wife, Ip Man's final fight in pt.3 should have been in the top 5. He didn't even want to fight him but his wife felt that he should uphold his name no matter what, even if she was dying. Also, the elevator scene should have been top 10, it's the most romantic scene in martial arts cinema history and it makes me tear up every time that elevator door opens and he greets her with a smile and grabs a hold of her hand to walk her out, ensuring her everything will be okay 😭❤ I love it too much 💓💓💓
In Ip Man 3, he actually wanted to fight. He just didn’t because he prioritized his dying wife. His wife realized his passion for martial arts as it is everything to Master Yip. She even set up the fight to make up for missing out on the first scheduled showdown.
@@LullabyeNyah i beg to differ. I think everything to master Yip was always his family, that's why the ending to all of the movies were always with his family. I don't think master Yip ever _wanted_ to fight but he fought because he felt the need to. His wife asked him if she wasn't sick would he have gone to the fight and he answered yes. He would've gone but not because he wanted to fight but because he knew the other master was misrepresenting wing chun and the purpose of kungfu overall. He would have gone to uphold the image of kungfu but he knew his time with his wife was more important and if his wife never asked him to fight, he would have spent every last second with his wife without regret.
Arica Vang He fought to uphold his sense of justice and purpose. It’s been true throughout all the movies that his sole purpose to fight was to protect something. Donnie himself states the importance that every fight must have a meaning behind it. If he fights, he must fight for his beliefs and standings. It’s true that he prioritized his wife on her death bed, but even she recognized the importance of why he fights. Even back in the first movie where she always disliked conflict, and preferred Yip to be with his family. Yip Man fought to uphold his own sense of self justice for those that could not fight.
@@LullabyeNyah idk what you're trying to get at. His wife was never against his love for wingchun, even she loved that side of him. The only reason she used to bicker in the first part was when he would uselessly spar with others instead of spending more time with his son. But once it came to the real fights, fights to protect those around him or (as you said) fights for those who couldn't themselves, she stood behind him always. In the first part, after his fight with the 10 black belts, his wife tended to his wounds without asking him why his hands looked that way because she believed in his reasons, whatever they may be. I'm just trying to say, give a little more credit to the love between the two. The Ip Man series is not only all about wingchun, it was about his life with his family, more so his wife, as well. After the final fight in pt3, even Ip Man said, "There is nothing more important than the person by your side."
HOW TF DID YOU NOT PUT THE SCENE WHERE IP MAN FIGHTS LIKE 10+ PEOPLE AT ONCE AND KICKS THEIR ASSES?! THAT'S ONE OF THE TOP 5 MOST BADASS SCENES
