- When it gets toasty on those streets you've gotta ditch the techninja gear for something more lightweight. Here are some ideas for techwear style in summer.

I think techwear’s ethos is the wrong answer. Linen, wool, silk & ramie are better fabric options polyester and nylon.

Something I didn't really mention is by mixing the accessories of more premium brands e.g. ACG, Y-3 with other pieces from Uniqlo or more affordable retailers, you can get some nice branding depending on your preference whilst making far more affordable outfits than going head-to-toe in those brands
That’s the mood, get yourself some Qasa’s and a Y-3 hoodie and some cheap cheap trousers.

Wait... I can’t wear a goretex rain jacket in 30 above. I deny this fact.
Patagonia used to make these paper-thin rain jackets for hot weather. They were almost translucent. I don’t know if they still make them or not. I’ve had mine for at least five years or so. I have another one made by Superdry that’s basically the same thing, plus they go on sale for like $40 bucks all the time.

First, I’m glad im not the only one with a odor problem of the uniqlo airism tees. holding on to odors is not just me (thank Christ)! I’ve thought before I was just a sweaty swine or greasy boi, but we good👌🏻.
I see what you mean by having a messenger bag deforming the look of a T-shirt, on the positive side of messenger bags in summer is the lack of a sweaty/sticky back with a backpack. I like the idea of the runner bag, that’s nifty.
Those lightweight Y-3 pants in your recent IG post are absolute fire. The whole fit is tbh!
For the cargo shorts, I agree it’s not super fashionable. I picked up the uniqlo utility shorts which feature one side pocket that doesn’t stand out like traditional cargo shorts. The material is also lightweight and quick drying.
I’ve been keeping my eye out for some more cropped/ankle pants too. I’m making some diy pants right now similar to the look of the acronym p23s (without the integrated legging bottom)

you could mention arm/leg sleeves & bandanas. some are rated with uv resistance. I have some items from outdoor research. columbia last year until now have their freezer zero fabric line. i opted for blue digital camo to mix things up.
iblackfeathers True, imo sleeves are a bit unusual for day to day wearing but they do actually serve a purpose which is good
those sleeves always remind me of old ladies in asia xD
don't be afraid of layering. you can still use a thin lightweight noragi to have some drape over your body. you can also still stay pretty tekky with your hat if they are goretex or upf 50+. also on the note of tencel, there are certain type of lyocel fabric that are water repellant too.

For me, summer "techwear" is all about fabric and cut. You want as much space between the surface of your skin and the fabric itself (to allow air to travel through and cool you) and the fabric itself must allow air to travel in and out. I live in Outlier's F.Bigs shorts in the summer and their ramie fabric tops.
Oh how I was waiting for this video! Also, I can fully recommend Adidas's Climalite (Woven I think) Shorts, just copped them a few weeks ago (the full black ones), they are extremely lightweight, look cool and they draw sweat away from your body.

I definitely enjoyed the length of the video. Also, I got hype when the nike vortaks got mentioned. I found out about them while getting a wishlist done on nike.com for me to start building my wardrobe. I once I saw them I knew they were tech approved.

I been going with wool from icebreakers and smart wool for shirts been pretty good no smells and always adjust to warm or cold

You should check out hemp clothes for summer - it's even better than linen clothes - especially hemp t-shirts are awesome and they even get better the longer you have em (get softer from each wash) - they are great for both summer and winter and are more and more becoming my favorite base layer...

Yeah they sold out immediately unfortunately. The best place is probably Grailed/Facebook groups but tbh the prices are so inflated on them it's not really worth it. There are way cheaper versions on Amazon/outdoor stores

If you wanna wear cargo pants, but fit that summer vibe, I'd argue Cargo shorts with the right cut can give you that look, while still being warm. Black OD, ang grey I'd say are the go-to.
Living in Phoenix I find rocking a plain tee and relying on the back / holster to provide a techy looking torso

Black runner short-shorts with some light reflection details, a black t with cuffed sleeves, mono black lowtop chucks, black baseball cap with a velcro patch on the front (no patch) and an Assault I MOLLE backpack and a gold Casio a159 is literally my favorite summer outfit. Aside from the fabric of the shorts, and I guess the velcro (lol) & molle parts it's not exactly "tech", but it looks the part quite well.
cropped linen cargos with birkenstocks & a hawaiian print shirt (or a plain white T, depending on how flashy I wanna be) is my second one, but this is completely tangential lmao
A decent option is the 'precip hat' from marmot, although it's traditionally a hiking brand it looks quite techy.

The brand Colombia has some cool tshirts and long sleeve t-shirts from their "Performance FIshing Gear" line and they are UV protective, blood stain resistant and have some other features. Just find a plain solid color design.

Hey WhateverTwon - i really do enjoy watching your content! and i know, you allready did some videos focusing on sneakers .BUT. Would you do another/new one on sneakers for the summertime ? I am getting the new yeezy 350 v2 all black (fake ones, cause i just cant/dont want afford originals). And i am thinking about buying the vapormax air flyknit 3‘s - which are still pricy but way easier to get. Here‘s my question: can you please do another video focusing on sneakers for the summertime - something with mesh/flyknit/whatever all of this material-sock-like-sneakers-stuff is called ? That would be so cool. cheers ^_^
nice video - pretty in depth on this one. stil a few additional thoughts:
1) the stinky fabrics are genereally the synthetic ones, especially polyester in my experience, while merino wool (and wool in general) is naturally odour-resistant
2) colour wise the lighter the colour the best i think you could have said that piece of information instead if rambling about how you forgot colour
3) sometimes long sleeved stuff is the thing to go to for uv protection
4) can you slide your face cam shots a little bit to the left while showing photos on the right? then you would be in the center of that extra frame and that would look way better while not being too much extra work while composing that composition
Sew Much Black Yup you're right, lighter colours absorb less sunlight so should've mentioned that for very warm conditions
And shifting the frame over is surprisingly annoying to do but yes I do it in some stuff so will see if I can incorporate into every vid!

lightweight + repels water. suggest 0.5 size up from your TTS so you can add an insole for cushioning
They're not particularly breathable so your feet might get a bit hot. Better for winter imo!
