That's a great honor to have you listening and enjoying this. I forced myself not to listen to the original song while I was practicing for the recording because even though your performance was a big inspiration, I wanted to pay respect to it by interpretating it the most personally I could. But damn, that was painful 😂 I'm glad I can listen to it again now!

I’m not sure I really like the style of the vocals when sung like this. I mean beautiful voice but it sounds like she’s making fun of it almost. Just like a little too much
It's very nice, but the overall message and feel of the song does seem to change somewhat with the slight style difference. This one has more of a sultry bard kind of feel, pulling the patrons in closer into a more intimate performance for the night. Amanda's original was definitely more motherly, less pauses and clearer vocals makes it feel more reassuring and uplifting. Just different styles. Fantastic performance, nonetheless.

Yes, I tried to be more of a "narrator" than the actual character to stay on a personal register. Amanda did a wonderful performance and I didn't want to imitate or steal her own interpretation. She gave her feelings, I gave mine. I'm not making fun of it by the way, you probably say that because of my facial expressions but it's as it is, I just make weird faces when I sing. 😂
