    Great product for certain shots, like push-ins, which are very hard to do manually. I would love another way of switching from LiDAR focus to manual, as pressing the motor button would jog the camera if it’s on a gimbal and turning the wheel to a focus limit obviously changes the focus, which is not desirable. Could a double push on the wheel be added to do this? That way you could go in and out of autofocus during a shot - really useful!

      @@analogexotics Batteries are inconvenient. They get stuck in the device and are very difficult to get out (especially from the controller). In addition, the assembly of two batteries requires a special charger. My camera is powered by a v-mount battery and it would be easier for me to power the device from a single power source. These are wonderful devices with a very ill-conceived user experience.

    For macro work, I want full manual mode because autofocus doesn't work at the closest distance. But when I twist to the closest distance, the motor automatically switches to autofocus. I would like the team to add a function that allows full manual mode without changing to automatic autofocus.

    I heard that this product stores the focus area

      Are you mean the A-B point lens stroke limit?
      After the controller it can control the motor. Turn the controller to what you want to limiting it for point A, short press controller a time.
      Then turn the controller to waht you want to limiting it for point B, short press a time.

    Hello.
    I bought your PDL-TC-AFX controller. I will use it with my PDMOVIE LIVE AIR 3 mini motor. I connected everything and started setting it up. Bluetooth pairing of the controller and motor was successful. The indicators on the controller and motor are constantly on. But after calibrating the motor on the lens, the problem became clear. When the controller is rotated completely from lock to lock, the motor on the lens travels halfway. It is not right. And that’s right - the stroke of the lens motor should be from the limiter to the limiter of the focus ring.
    I tried to solve this problem. I have calibrated the lens motor many times, I have tried different settings. But the controller does not work correctly with the motor. With another controller, the lens motor works correctly - at full travel of the focus ring.
    Do you know how to fix this problem

    • @PDMOVIE
      @PDMOVIE  3 місяці тому

      You need to rematch the DPI between the controller and the motor.
      Short press the motor button 14 times, and then long press it for 3 seconds on the 15th press.
      Note: Don't pause for too long between each press.

    Tell me why on the Laowa 90 2.8 errors occur at close distances, from about 50 centimeters, on the Laowa 12 2.8 everything works without any problems at close range...

    • @PDMOVIE
      @PDMOVIE  10 місяців тому +1

      Because 90 is a telephoto lens, there is a certain parallax between the displayed image and the objects scanned by LiDAR. Have you checked whether the focus is correct with a reference object on a vertical plane? If it's incorrect, it means it's not set up properly, or the object isn't vertical enough. After all, the depth of field of 90mm is very shallow, isn't it?

    • @UriRa
      @UriRa 10 місяців тому

      90mm is a macro telephoto lens.
      With an aperture of 2.8 it has a fairly large depth of field, of course less than 12 f2.8. I calmly set up 28 f 1.2.
      Although no, not calmly), I had to suffer due to an unclear algorithm for switching to the lidar setup mode.
      A short press and three seconds of a long press lead to scrolling the lens....usually), to switching to another color and then starting all over again).
      With 90 f2.8 I did everything carefully, I’ll try to repeat it.
      Is lidar capable of operating correctly at distances of about 20 centimeters?

    If you used the first version of DJI autofocus with lidar, you probably know that lidar is not a panacea, that autofocus without focusing on faces, objects and eyes is a real torment. I think that in this case, this product from pdmovie is a good attempt, but useless. I refused autofocus with lidar without object recognition, because the behavior of autofocus was annoying and spoiled the result.

    • @UriRa
      @UriRa 10 місяців тому

      You are wrong!
      There are many situations when recognizing eyes or faces does not help, but rather hinders.
      Just started using PDMOVIE Lidar and its use seems very useful in a wide range of scenarios, including those where contrast and phase detection autofocus are powerless.
      Just use it when you need it...

      not every shot is of a persons face as the subject. I shoot products, cars, scenery all the time for work. maybe you need a shot of someone running and biking, where the eyes wouldn't be the focus. it's a tool with its use cases.
