Pro tip: when your enemy team gets score, use question mark on your goalie a couple of times. It will demoralize them and make them pay more attention next time cause they will feel shame.
I've only ever done worse from that ;-;
@@jessegamer2503 Then you deserve it anyway.
How's it a pro tip if it increased the chance of you losing
@@jessegamer2503 u iq lowered by 20
@@jessegamer2503 it's sarcasm
Pls try not to flame ur goalies. As a goalie, I know when I’ve fucked up.
Yea, like the forwards don't make mistakes every time
yeah that's a fair point, can definitely I'm guilty of flaming goalies knowing their movement ability is up or they whiff a slow shot. definitely something I need to work on for sure
@@recon5732 you gotta remember, as a forward you could miss 50 shots but its still putting pressure on the enemies.
As a goalie, you could block 50 shots but that doesn't matter if there gets 1 ball trough, so being a goalie can sometimes be stressful as fuck. So being in that situation and then having flaming teammates as a goalie myself, I feel pretty underappreciated then, after just blocking the previous 50 shots lol
Some people think everybody is a proplayer unallowed to do mistakes and its annoys me so much
Not only when it happen to me
I saw a beginner Luna on opponing team getting taunted at by her own teammates and it was so frustrating to see
A friend and I tried to cheer her up with Juliette hearts emotes
@@Orez-Suke You and your friend are legends.
It's a good time when you constantly get spam bm taunts from your teammates when u are scored on but they can't score themselves
Bro mood. We went to overtime at 0-0 one time and I zoned out for 2 seconds and messed up. Then they spammed me because they couldn't score in over 5 mins.
We ended up winning 3-1 but geez. Forwards that can't score are really aggravating to me.
I feel like being flex makes me way less toxic cus I can understand the struggle of both. Nothing worse than forwards that expect the goalie to be perfect but couldn’t do the same
As a forward main, I hate when this happens. Like, my goalie is out there throwing their blood sweat and more blood at the game to keep the core out and I'm on the other end of the map, lowkey picking my nose and going "emnemi goaliem too stromk".
Granted, realistically this isn't as much my fault as it is our midfield's, but I'm in a lose-lose situation. If I don't walk my ass there the core won't ever reach me so I'll be pretty much useless, but if I do walk my ass there, I'm X. I don't have the mobility to then immediately return to offense.
Fr tho, thinkin about it a bad midfielder is probably the worst in a team. A bad goalie can be compensated for by the midfielder. A bad forward only needs one fuck-up for the enemy team to leave them a nice, wide opening. But a bad midfielder literally cuts off the transfer of gameflow from one end of the map to the other.
Just a little while earlier I was playing with a noobie goalie drek'ar, and he started spamming the commands saying stuff like "let me defend, help help help" and "spread out" like 3-5 times, just because I was playing somewhat closer to the goal, but STILL IN MIDFIELD. I gave him his space and he was absolute garbage! He couldn't stop basically a single play...
He then let me be goalie and despite being on juliette WITH PUMMELERS I was absolutely CREAMING him on goalie duty! He never said a THING to me after that... But we still lost by a good bit in the end, because I wasn't nonstop being the goalie nor did I want to be, I was trying to run a KO build and it was Ai.Mi's app! Every time I left it to him he couldn't hold his own for more than a few seconds, making plenty of the mistakes in the video.
Im a forward main and don't flame my goalies, I hope it's not to common for that to happen to the goalies. I've seen great plays from opponents and feel like I can't blame my goalie a lot of the time. Even if a soft ball goes in I don't get mad, I'm sure they are well aware and don't need me bashing them for them to figure it out. I hope goalies luck and keep trying ^^
As a goalie, what forwards to that grinds my gears is not scoring and not even trying. I often lose a game where I had double the saves of the enemy goalie
This. Nothing frustrates me as a goalie more than forwards that sit on top of me and redirect the ball causing me to waste an ability. Spread out and actually challenge the other team for the ball.
Applied the tips in this, and got MVP as goalie on the first match! #7 really does help a lot for just taking in what's going on!
As a keeper main, but occasional flex Dubu, my biggest pet peeve is the Luna keepers who try to do the flash-back sprint thingy. Like I get that it's cool and fun and feels like you're being really strategic, but I have seen Luna keepers abandon the goal and get scored-on way too much. Plus, the area-of-effect missle isn't really a good defensive tool bc its directionality is unpredictable and it speeds up the core a ton.
If you're super good, I can see Luna being a valid keeper pick, but I think most people aren't on that level and certainly shouldn't practice in ranked.
Leaving the goal is definitely the most frustrating. Running to the front of the goal arc at the start of every round to pop an ability and get first strike on the core is also really annoying, especially when it results in immediately getting scored on because they were in a bad position. Just do your job as goalie and let me do mine as forward.
Gotta say though, the first round strike is actually a valid defensive strat as Dubu, pushing up after is far from advisable, but if you play it right you shouldn't be out-of-position if you start with a bamboozle.
To clarify, the idea isn't to use the bamboozle to get the first-first hit, but to put up an obstacle that will deflect the first hit away from you. But you've gotta put it out ASAP to not get stuck in the animation when you might need to be able to strike.
Oh shoot its bunnymuffins. Love your TFT work, goodluck breaking into this space!
OHHHHH ma gawd, preach. Was playing today for the first time as a forward and my goalie kept walking up. Dude walked up they insta scored, next round he walked up, they insta scored and that happened 5-6 times in 1 game. Like oh my god just sit in front of the goal please xD
I only started playing the other day, and played goalie yesterday for the first time. definitely not easy job. I do get frustrated when the goalie leaves the goal though, had a close game that may not have been so close if the goalie didn't keep leaving the goal. I do wish I had a practice mode, because that first goalie game I was still trying out my buttons and trying to remember which skill did what. Looking forward to improving tho
Yo this video is mad clutch Good look my mann 🙌🏾💪🏾🤙🏾
Hardest one for me is the staring contest. I always flinch and panic!
One of the hardest things for me is wanting to do more to help the team, but sometimes that causes me to forget to watch the core and I let a slow one go right past me because my focus was elsewhere. I'll need to practice being able to watch the ball at all times even if I'm doing something else...
My only problem with number 8, is I am constantly wiggling cause it keeps me ready and focused for whenever the core is going random places, I usually play Kai so I don’t have to worry about it much but sometimes there are chances I am unwilling to take because random power shots and ricochets are honestly annoying especially with how janky a lot of bounces can be
That Tofu Fortress at 1:02 is extremely cursed.
Also, mirroring the core is NOT a mistake beginner players do. You want to mirror the core so you don't let in soft goals that get in through the near corner, and at low levels players aren't good at shooting across the goal to punish goalies for their bad positioning.
The real mistake here is sitting on the goal line, which is the mistake that makes mirroring the core problematic. Sitting on the goal line makes it harder to defend against a lot of shot angles (such as cross-goal shots that hit the far corner of the goal) and makes it easy for opposing players to kill the goalie (most notably with Luna, which got so bad I had to ban her for a while). You should be positioned a bit further out from the goal line (while still being in the goalie box) so you don't die to random stuff and can better cover a larger portion of the goal, which is something real soccer goalies do when defending the goal.
I definitely don't consider it a mistake to not stand still as a goalie. I think a LOT better when I'm on my feet keeping my fingers warm, and will obviously have better reaction times if I don't have to be like "OH RIGHT I have to move" out of nowhere when someone does a power shot. I am one of the best goalies I've ever seen in the game, and almost nothing gets past me if I don't make a silly mistake or goof off too much, and I NEVER stand still for more than half a second unless it's because a shot has been lined up with my positioning to deflect.
I would also like to note that as a goalie you should try to use your abilities to mix things up, so that you're unpredictable and the enemies get thrown off, missing their abilities meant to counter your clear. A good few times I've made a TOTAL FOOL out of rasmus while barely even trying, just because I used an ability instead or did a super sharp clear.
My personnel faults are Richocets and losing staring matches. I end up placing myself in bad positions and being way to close to enemy forwards which forces me to have insane reaction time.
My biggest tip for a goalie is DO NOT stay close to the goal line. God... My god... i've seen so many rookie people stay right close to the goal line thinking it'd be a good anticipation thing. And it it is you get more time to deal with it. But any harrassing striker will INSTANTLY kill you xD Like honestly... just stay middle of the goal line and the exit of the goal zone xD
Goalie's the best role. I feel like they are the play makers by how/when they redirect the ball
This helps me a lot I see a lot of mistakes I make and with the other video it was reassuring that I am not that bad of a goalie thank you
did not expect to hear bunnymuffins' voice LMAO maybe i should redownload tft..
What's the worst that can happen...
like a wise person once said: "IF YOU ARE A GOALTENDER TEND THE GOAAL!" - Steve Dangle
What if you have a speed boosted eject button. A quick cheek and turn run out should be fine i think since you tp right back.
Honestly passing the ball back to opponents is the most frustrating. I'm in mid Plat and it straight blows my mind that goalies still do this. It's the easiest thing to do to clear it. It's like watching kindergarten kids play soccer. Lost too many matches to goalies taking 50/50s
Easier said than done, when you have the two forwards plus a luna in your face, your adrenaline skyrockets and you panic and press everything at once
@@camelenon9533 you say this like I haven't watched a 1v1 ping pong match while everyone else is ready for a pass
i started playing the game yesterday and i have been playing goalie and the thing i hate the most is when my strikers are all in my shit and play like a goalie
As Kai goalie, how do you deal with constant pressure from brawlers? My projectiles do little to no damage to characters like X and Asher. Even Dubu camps at my face and there's nothing I can do. I feel so terrified when that happens. Like I play in fear of dying all the time.
fr tho since I always play at a midfield sort of playstyle I hate forwards who can't score for shit and me and the goalie have to fight tooth and nails to get possession only to know our Striker is not even trying. Sometimes I hate goalies sometimes I hate forwards.
if my fowards start clogging the goal on 0-0 and give up the puck should i just alt+f4
Take eject button and you can leave your goal whenever you want and play super aggressively
played this game for the first time last night and I'm pretty sure everygame I lost was because the goolie played like a forward
Nice vid...thanks
What annoys me is the staring contest, its the one thing I need to work on the most.
for me it's hitting right back at the forward. i lose track of where my mouse is and get caught in the back n fourth with them
How did you pull up that menu at 2:14??? Is that still in the game post-beta? Ive been looking for my stats everywhere since i started playing
You press tab in game. Sometimes I find that you have to click before it will pop up when you are in the awakenings selection round. You can still hover your cursor over awakenings and it will tell you what they do
What do you mean by "Aim where they hit the ball" and "soft goal" ?
"Aim where they hit the ball", he might have meant something else but I just took it as referring to paying attention to your mouse positioning since that will help you have more concise and meaningful shots (if you're playing on pc at least).
"Soft goal", which I do actually know for certain, is when the puck/core is moving at a slow pace that you can easily strike away from the goal, but don't for whatever reason and it goes in. Soft just refers to the speed of the core having considerably less momentum than if you naturally strike it.
i started yesterday and i dont make any of these mistakes. PLUS i think that they should put a limiter on the goalies movement like they cant move past the halfway point of the map at all or something. it makes people recognize that THEY ARE IN FACT THE GOALIE
I started today and I usually avoid these mistakes quite regularly. Personally I don't think there should be a limiter as I'm sure there are some instances where going up that deep could be useful or certain team comps. I played against an atlas and dubu on the same team and they rotated having a more forward type role and goalie. They didn't have goalie specific benefits all the time because of that yeah but they did have a really good defense either way. I get it might be annoying to have goalies that leave the net but whenever devs go out of the way to make the begineer experience more enjoyable they tend to ruin elements that make high level play fun.
@@justsomeone1073 but they were prob on a vc and both likes goalie or somethin. If you choose goalie you should act aproprietally
@@NakatesX I mean it doesn't matter if they were on vc or not... My point is if the devs prevent the goalie from going past the halfway point, it ruins potential strategies. A perfect example of a good time for a goalie to pass the halfway point would be in a 3v1 where 2 of the opponents are out
@@justsomeone1073 ye no shit but im saying that it presents new strategy
@@NakatesX How are you saying it presents new strategies if preventing goalies from passing the halfway point eliminate strategies? I think a better and more common example you'll run into than the other guy gave is, certain characters (particularly Luna and now Vyce who wasn't out at the time of this comment chain) can quickly dash/teleport to the opposing half of the goal for a pressure play, and then eject button back to defend the goal. Plays like those become much less valuable/viable with that kind of restriction.
And yeah I get it's been a week, still thought this was worth mentioning though.
Pov : your team cannot even score and your team use question mark to blame on goalie 😂
as a high diamond forward, i know a good goalie when i see one. these tips are definitely what they use a lot. especially in staring contest situations, goalies prefer to just use skills rather than striking the puck elsewhere. cuz as a juliette main, it's ideal if they contest the puck with their bodies since after i strike, i do a dash hit combo to GUARANTEE a goal. everytime a goalie does not use skills to stop my advance, it's a guaranteed goal. it's a lot of pressure on the goalie and it's hard to think what to do under pressure sometimes.
Watching the goalie clear straight back into the enemy Juliette/Asher consistently is the worst feeling.
Any chance we can get a video on playing goalie and midfield against estelle/juno?
Will you release the forwards one?
Bluelock reference when?
Is this bunnymuffins voice?
if you want it to be
@@strikersnation 👀
As a goalie player it hurts me to watch a bad goalie leave net and let a soft goal in. I play a lot of flex but honestly enjoy goalie
Video might cover it but dont want to watch. Tip for goalies. Expect the start of the round with no walls up to have the core go right into your goal and position accordingly. See so many goals made in less then a second because they think they will be safe for a bit.
fun fact: passing to teamte = good 😀!!! passing to enemy = bad 😡!!!
Also we don't need 2 goalies. I'm a goalie. You're a forward. I appreciate the help back here but you gotta run towards that half of the arena and help your Teammate. I can take care of this other half myself.
Sorry, no--I'm leaving goal every time I find out my teammates don't know how to play offense.
I've had to 1v3 after they died to an X, I left goalpost and scored, even. Leave the goal if you have to, and in desperate situations.
What can I play this on?
Steam on PC
I have no idea how to aim on Switch.
So i play on switch and I have no idea how to aim
We haven't played on the switch, but i would imagine you would aim with one of the sticks?
Right Stick.
Cant be done due to shit map designs of the middle always having something bouncing your puck back.
Enemies are always on top and bottom sides while your team is fucking around on enemy side or no where near the puck.
Power play - Never seen this ever on my team just the enemy.
Mirroring - Seems this role just needs to be removed with how too much work it is.
should never leave the goal shame the locks are in the worst game design possible.
Listening to this. Literally impossible to play this role. *fronts instead permanently* thanks for the video on dont play this role.
Wow. Nice skill issue bro 👍
Pro tip: there should be no “pro tips” it’s a party game have fun nobody cares
