Y'all, this is honestly some fantastic advice. I'm about 60% of my way through high gold and have gotten to play with and against multiple plat gamers, and yet I still see people chasing the ball, refusing to spread, being impatient with cooldowns, or not properly passing. I can't tell you how many games i've won just because of the enemy team forgetting how to properly position themselves, which is something that is possible even with almost 0 communication. Thank you very much for enlightening the masses of high silver hell, and I can't wait to both make some crazy team plays with randos and get my ass thoroughly beaten by them XD Edit: I’m in high plat/low diamond now and good god people won’t stop chasing the ball, especially those without burst movement options (X, Juli, Era, Drek to an extent, etc). Slight note on 7:03, for lots of fighters the area of influence behind them is useless unless you have a good position since it'd hit the ball towards your own goal. Also, Juno just takes influence zones and says "I am God" if you let her please don't
Just adding on top of this. Strikers that have movement abilities which I factor into the zone can effectively influence the core within the range. You'll notice that I made the zone for Kai pretty large because of his speed. Also if you can hit the core toward the corner instead of the goal that would also be fine. If your goalie is competent as well, a soft hit backwards can be a valid play also.
Jesus christ, when did you hit the second phase of puberty and get that chad alpha male voice ma dude, Jokes were insane, haven't laughed like that in a while. Great fucking editing btw super smooth. finally a good guide to get my friends into the game.
If someone is spinning round smoothly it doesnt mean they're not playing wasd. The games cross platform so it can mean they aren't playing from pc. Mobile and controller controls have the free movement and ability to aim in this game. Personally though I've got it on pc I actually prefer the touch screen controls.
Lmao THANK YOU. My own teammates are confused as to WHY I pass to them and they are so dumbfounded they miss hitting the core! The tip of following the core towards the goal was great I'll add that to my playbook 😊.
@@cynicalradicand Inbetween kisses we whimper "it's just a phase", highly recommended! Even Jake who used to reply with "cope harder ****" has started to join in with us!
In all seriousness this video has actually helped my friend and I improve in the game a lot. I was really anxious whenever I would play goalie, but thanks to the tips in this video I feel a lot more confident as goalie, so thank you very much 🙏
The last tip: "the cringe" - is noy just a TIP bit a RULE. Guys. Remember. We are a small fanbase - how on Earth are we going to increase it if we'll shame new, unexperienced players? Let em try, let em fight, let em have fun and learn. I remember that match few days ago: it was fine, we all played normally, till one opponent disconnected, giving us easy 3>2 win. After score we returned to our positions and with a though "Let's waste em" i was ready to get into the fight-... But something happened. One of my teammates walked into the corner and made that "Juiliet heart" emoji. He became the viewer - he gave us 2 = 2. It was... truly beautiful. At the end we all had fun, changing who is viewer after every goal. I am pretty sure that as well as I - our oponets left the field happy. That's what you call - OmegaStrikers. That's why we hold togethet and stay here - to have *FUN*.
Yeah it's an unspoken rule that if someone disconnects everyone either all waits until they comeback or we make it a 2v2. Love that about the community.
Let me add one that a lot of people seem to forget. If you are not goalie, MOVE OUT OF THE GOAL. It is the goalie's job to defend, and having someone constantly behind the goal means it's a 1v3 on the opponent's side of the field for the other forward
Plus half the time, they just pass it directly to the enemy lmao. This is basically the same thing as the spreading out tip but I probably should have emphasised the goalie thing more.
@@cynicalradicand that’s up to you and what your preference for editing is. I say it may help for those who can get motion sick but I understand that a majority of ppl don’t need it. Keep up the good content ily

As a solo player i think I've completely given up on this game. Lost i think 11 ranked games in a row in high silver and i just can't anymore. Had a blast in my like 20 hours before that though
Oh that's a shame, hopefully you'll give it another chance later down the road. Losing sucks but don't let winning or losing affect your enjoyment too much. Hop back into some norms just to dick around sometimes and enjoy yourself.
You think that’s bad? I’m here because I nearly dropped from gold twice the same day trying to bring up team EDM (also hell yeah underdogs winnin) and having my comp win rate go from 79 to 54
Those are kinda good tips i will keep them in mind. Game is kinda fun, but holy lack of surrender option is killing me. Like i main Ai.Mi and was 2nd to pick and 3rd pick was also hovering her cuz it was probably also Ai.Mi main, but i took her fist cuz why wouldn't I, then she just alt+f4, no penality for it (i think?) And i just waste time...
Yikes yeah I hate it when those moments happen, though they are usually few and far between. Good news is that they will be adding surrender button in the next update or two because they did mention it in the last patch notes. I usually avoid those situations because I main multiple strikers but if you are picking first then you should get to pick whoever you like. Like what are they going to do if ai.mi got banned? Best just to report the player and move on to the next game I suppose.
I installed the game like 3 days ago at my ps4 and im just climbing some ranks, but not gonna lie to you playing alone is quite the overwhelming feeling. But ill try to aply this tips to my gameplay as best as i can. Btw do you have any tips on Era and Rasmus?
Yeah playing alone can be pretty stressful, you could probably find some people to play with if you just hit up the discord or something though. I'll probably be making character specific guides sometime in the future but just off the top of my head: Era is extremely versatile, you can play a purely supportive playstyle with buffs and debhffs or take tons of speed and blitz people as a forward or go for kos with the tornado, though most high rank players won't fall for it. Lots of people don't ever release the tornado early because it struggles to kill that way but it can be very worth letting it go just to apply pressure on the core with the right timing. Rasmus is a bit trickier, the main skill cap is to be able to land the sweet spot on the primary consistently or it hits like a wet noodle. His secondary is extremely good for pressuring the core, you can hit the core normally and then run up to it to hit it with the recast spin. And lastly the hook is also very versatile, it has high knock back multipliers so you can score some random Kos with it, you can save the ball from going into your goal from mid field, use it to disrupt enemies trying to skirmish, and pull the core to you from the otherwise of the field vertically and immediately redirect it into the goal.
And that's why I main four characters at any given time, so I can get completely banned out and still have room to counter pick. (And simultaneously suck at all of them)
@@maquirlizarraga6829 Hot damn that's a long ass work day, curious about what you do? Tbh though, I just have striker ADHD and can't stand playing the same striker too many times in a row and it carries across all games lol.

Hey man I shared this video with some of my friends trying to learn/teach the game and we basically had the same criticisms. If you want your vids to be popular make the intro shorter, insult the viewer less(or be funnier about it), and don't overdo the funny=loud sound effects while trying to be educational - or at least split them up more clearly. This looks like your first vid of this type so it's probably experimental but you did a really good first attempt
Thanks for the feed back! I'll take that into consideration. I would like to think the humour stuff is more subjective but I probably do overdo it. And yeah now that you mention it the intro is way too long.
@@avery5920 This is constructive criticism though, it helps the creator know what people think about the project they made and make future changes based on that. If it is well received, thats great, if it isn't, then something is needed to be done
@@cynicalradicand honestly I disagree. I find your quips hilarious and tbh I learn more from this kind of video than organized step by step procedures. Then again preference is a huge part of this
While some champs are kinda busted, I'm pretty sure skill plays a much larger role. And for the most part everyone is decently balanced. If you look at the top players you can more or less see players who play any of the champs.
@@cynicalradicand my mindset a few days ago was “I wish I could ban more than 1 champ. I would ban Luna Juliette Juno X Era Rasmus Rune wait never mind their team just works together and are way better than me” so yeah I agree
its kinda crazy how there is no skill base mm in quickplay/Normal. Me and my friends just started and we are probably on a 0-10 streak right now because we are just getting put against people that know what they are doing or just getting lucky rng shots but other then that we are enjoying it. it's just that one little problem where we are getting our asses handed to us every game.

I've been playing with MOBA controls since launch, never scored a single own goal (Thanks 10+ years of Diablo 2) and feel really comfortable with being able to move freely. Is it really that important to change to WASD? If yes, how should I change my bindings? Fore reference, my current bindings: RMB -> Move LMB -> Strike QWER -> Abilities And thanks for the video, gonna send it to my friends who simply won't pass no matter what lol Edit: I literally managed to do 0 goals+assist in 5 games in a row with WASD as forward aimi. Gonna try with WASD+1234 (Smite Bindings, pretty used to it) but guess I'm just better with MOBA settings.
Own goals are an extreme example of when things go bad but I would still suggest at least giving wasd a try. Like @MoonMarshmallow said, it will change the keybinds automatically if you choose the wasd preset but I personally like having secondary on space (default shift) Give it a go for a day or two but if you think you do much better with MOBA controls, don't let me stop you. My aggressive speech is just a persona I put on for comedy anyway and there is no right or wrong way to play the game.

Yup, a few people have pointed that out to me already. I kinda forgot those existed when I was making the video :P
Definition of a PC player in their own world oblivious to anything else 🙄
I need Tip 2 as it's own quick little video to send to every god damn goalie in the game
UA-cam shorts moment? 😳
Every time I see a Dubu it’s a hit or miss. They either are the living embodiment of the “random bullshit go” meme or a straight gift from god
Incredible advice. You'll be hititng 1k soon for sure
Looking forward to it :D
Lmao THANK YOU. My own teammates are confused as to WHY I pass to them and they are so dumbfounded they miss hitting the core! The tip of following the core towards the goal was great I'll add that to my playbook 😊.
The most useful video I've seen on the game! Also now me and my homies know we enjoy kissing each other, tysm.
Just make sure you practice safe kissing by saying "no homo". Unless you are homo in which case "all the homo!"
@@cynicalradicand Inbetween kisses we whimper "it's just a phase", highly recommended! Even Jake who used to reply with "cope harder ****" has started to join in with us!
That was an intense first 45 seconds
Gotta hook the viewer in somehow :)
This was a great video man, I'm now plat a minute after watching!
In all seriousness this video has actually helped my friend and I improve in the game a lot. I was really anxious whenever I would play goalie, but thanks to the tips in this video I feel a lot more confident as goalie, so thank you very much 🙏
I was not prepared to be called out like that right away god damn
Exposed
That intro is personal
Bangin' video. This is how new channels are born
"new" being 4 years old 😆
@@cynicalradicand Haha fair enough - but still its fun finding a piece of content that gets picked up nicely like this!
@@Labergemusic this is my first long form video to do decently well so I'm very grateful :D
This video is extremely informative and does deserve many more views. Thank you for such a dedicated and detailed approach
Thanks! It's already doing better than most of my other vids so I'm already quite happy :)
This game is so wildly addicting... I suck tho. Thanks for the tips.
Don't we all? 😔
How the hell does this not have more likes? Really good vid and some great tips.. even if I prefer using MOBA instead of WASD...
Tbh, the like ratio for the number of views is already pretty high for a youtube video so I'm ecstatic that everyone is blowing it up!
The intro script is godlike. Thanks for the guide!
I appreciate you enjoy being verbally assaulted :p
ngl the editing makes my head spin with how much tracking the core has lmao
Shall I tone it down for future videos?

Good vid, keep it up man
Thanks :)
bruh this video has me dying, good job
I will prepare the coffin ⚰️
honestly, as someone who keeps being put into goalie as i quee as flex. i hate when my teamates are grouped up, and i got no one to pass to, because it means the enermy is also there and i cant get it away from my goal
the worst is when they sit on you all game and just keep passing to the opponent >:(
best tip ever: let ur goalkeeper play PLEASE
don’t stand in front of him doing his job. Position urself to get a pass so u can actually do something
Easy, play as goalie and be the big squirrel man. Works 10/10 times.
Squirrel LMAO
Thanks for the advice.

I envy your editing homie you're insane with how good you made each emote of the game work with what you were saying.
Thanks, I basically just learnt everything from UA-cam tutorials haha. And I love the emotes in the game so much, so iconic.
On the other hand, I envy your dedication to upload schedule. Ain't no way I'm getting more than one video out per month or so 😂.
@@cynicalradicand yep! I'm doing that as well also haha. Awesome content man hope you go far!

Like, the first part of the video just summarises most of todays broplems People are having nowdays
It do be like that sometimes
As a solo player i think I've completely given up on this game. Lost i think 11 ranked games in a row in high silver and i just can't anymore. Had a blast in my like 20 hours before that though
Oh that's a shame, hopefully you'll give it another chance later down the road. Losing sucks but don't let winning or losing affect your enjoyment too much. Hop back into some norms just to dick around sometimes and enjoy yourself.
You think that’s bad? I’m here because I nearly dropped from gold twice the same day trying to bring up team EDM (also hell yeah underdogs winnin) and having my comp win rate go from 79 to 54
Insanely well edited
Thanks, I spend wayyyy to much time on that so I'm glad it pays off :)
What a start to a video😂
10/10 banger vid
Ngl that your "mom joke" kinda slap. You'll have my like, sub if I watch the whole thing
Edit: here's your sub
I installed the game like 3 days ago at my ps4 and im just climbing some ranks, but not gonna lie to you playing alone is quite the overwhelming feeling. But ill try to aply this tips to my gameplay as best as i can.
Btw do you have any tips on Era and Rasmus?
Yeah playing alone can be pretty stressful, you could probably find some people to play with if you just hit up the discord or something though.
I'll probably be making character specific guides sometime in the future but just off the top of my head:
Era is extremely versatile, you can play a purely supportive playstyle with buffs and debhffs or take tons of speed and blitz people as a forward or go for kos with the tornado, though most high rank players won't fall for it.
Great advice for a n00b thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Your so honest it’s scary😟…
Honesty is a virtue 😇
Alright this looks cool im gonna download it later
Wow I'm surprised this video is reaching beyond the player base :o

@@upgr3eyedd933 I'll let my artist friend know you like his stuff :)
Ight let him know and tell him that i wish him a gday (and u2)
Really nice video!
Thanks :)
Unless your own teammates vote out your main and the enemy votes out your secondary so your left with that measly third😅
And that's why I main four characters at any given time, so I can get completely banned out and still have room to counter pick. (And simultaneously suck at all of them)
It's hard to main more than 2 i work 6am to 7pm mon-sat so I don't play as much as most people do, i also have other games to play and things to do

And yeah now that you mention it the intro is way too long.
imagine being the type of person who watches yt videos to criticise them
@@avery5920 This is constructive criticism though, it helps the creator know what people think about the project they made and make future changes based on that. If it is well received, thats great, if it isn't, then something is needed to be done
@@erhixon773 better to ignore it imo. If you honestly listened to every piece of criticism you get, you'd never be able to make anything
@@cynicalradicand honestly I disagree. I find your quips hilarious and tbh I learn more from this kind of video than organized step by step procedures. Then again preference is a huge part of this
I played for a day and I only thought of half of these
The sexual innuendos are unmatched.
This is basically League of Legends and FIFA combined.
Want to hit high elo? Then it’s time to GIT GUD and play meta champs.
I wish it didn't take me 15+ minutes to find a lobby
Same tbh
its kinda crazy how there is no skill base mm in quickplay/Normal. Me and my friends just started and we are probably on a 0-10 streak right now because we are just getting put against people that know what they are doing or just getting lucky rng shots but other then that we are enjoying it. it's just that one little problem where we are getting our asses handed to us every game.

I recommend adding everyone you even do somewhat good with. I soloq, and I can tell you for a fact that no matter how hard the enemy is, having uncooperative allies are even worse. Teamwork makes the dre- core go in
I've been playing with MOBA controls since launch, never scored a single own goal (Thanks 10+ years of Diablo 2) and feel really comfortable with being able to move freely. Is it really that important to change to WASD? If yes, how should I change my bindings?
Fore reference, my current bindings:
RMB -> Move
LMB -> Strike
QWER -> Abilities
And thanks for the video, gonna send it to my friends who simply won't pass no matter what lol
Edit: I literally managed to do 0 goals+assist in 5 games in a row with WASD as forward aimi. Gonna try with WASD+1234 (Smite Bindings, pretty used to it) but guess I'm just better with MOBA settings.
i think the game automatically changes the keybinds if you swap over to wasd
Own goals are an extreme example of when things go bad but I would still suggest at least giving wasd a try. Like @MoonMarshmallow said, it will change the keybinds automatically if you choose the wasd preset but I personally like having secondary on space (default shift)
Give it a go for a day or two but if you think you do much better with MOBA controls, don't let me stop you. My aggressive speech is just a persona I put on for comedy anyway and there is no right or wrong way to play the game.
Both Moba and wasd have there merits tbh. If you get good with one then it doesn't matter what other people say. Just prove them wrong!
@@Luuniverse You can get good with the inferior controls; this does not make the inferior controls any better.
@@cynicalradicand I've tried some different bindings and WASD + LMB + RMB + Mouse Side Buttons worked pretty fine (All abilities are on mouse) even though I'm still doing a little worse for now. Do you think is it at least better than MOBA controls?
