The price changes depending on when you buy it. It actually looks like it's cheaper today than when I bought it. I got mine on Amazon here - amzn.to/3WXYKlb
I purchased a refurb unit from Amazon 12K BTU for about 270 and a 3 year warranty for about 80 dollars, and of course Costco sold their 12K unit for 280 after I purchased mine.
Just bought one I think it’s newer cuz it doesn’t have any physical buttons but things a beauty rooms never been colder. Only downside is the set up took like 45 mins to figure out 😂 but worth it
Bought two unit and fell in love with them until one of them acted up and won’t power on. Bought it in April 2024 and only used it a few times. Reliability is questionable. My 15 year old LG works every time but not as cool. Now I am claiming warranty and the manufacturer ask for a bunch of evidence. I submitted them all but we’ll see if they will honor it. Get a repair person out worth as much as the AC unit itself. I am still under 1 year warranty. Hopefully I don’t have to trash it.
I'm thinking of getting this or a 10,000 BTU. Not doing the phone app thing as we're in a cell dead spot and also have no wi fi as the trees nearby block the signal. I was looking for operational and quality feedback which you have given,,,thanks a bunch.
I bought one because of your video, I do have a question though. It says to leave the drain plug installed for proper operation. If you could clarify, does it need a drain or not?
The way this AC and similar ones achieve higher efficiency rating is by splashing its coils into the water it drips. That can actually create some noise and may bother some. So much that some people drilled an additional drain hole. Absolutely a mistake because by doing that you will lose 30% efficiency and the units compressor will run much more frequently.
@@frankmazda thank you for the clarification! Believe it or not, I emailed Midea tech, they incorrectly, said to put a drain on it on opposite side of the compressor.
@@reeljamescooper wow, thats insane. not the biggest fan of midea from my experience. The marketing is great, the products are apparently great but again in my experience they are not. Maybe they have bad quality control but I had to return mine. I really wanted to like it because I got a super deal from Costco $100 off but I simply considered it useless to me so e I bought it specifically for nighttime
Agree. Biggest issue with this is warranty coverage and real person service not AI voice programming which is increasing.. I just bought one at Costco for this reason, anything happens I take it back
I have the 12k because costco was sold out of the smaller ones and it's fine most of the time but sometimes it sounds like a jet plane taking off and rattles a bunch. Any idea what causes that and if it's fixable?
I have been having ongoing issue with the drainage of my 12 K unit, It is tilted back I live in a dry state, but I cannot tell where the water is suppose to drain out. So far my unit is getting algae and rust. I have called CS, not the most useful with a slight language barrier and a real world experience. They only offer a 90 day warranty, I purchased mine from Amazon and got the 3 year warranty.
@@GrumpyXer So right now I cut a pice of micro fiber and used a magnet, since I am home during the day I go out in the morning and I put the micro fiber in and it draws out the water, not a 100% but better than before.
A price right up front would be nice . I've watched several of the Medi videos price was never mentioned.

The 8000 btu is 349. Just add 50.00 for every size up from there

I had an issue with an old Midea dehumidifier and they refunded pretty quick. Took about a week or 2 to actually get the refund though.

I picked up an 8k for my bedroom and a 12k for my living room area. They’re definitely worth every penny

Happy you found the video helpful! I never took any drain plug out and I never have had to drain anything with this AC.

Is that a plastic adhesive tape that you used to seal both sides of the window? If so, where do I buy it?
It's actually just a special white duct tape but they do sell special sealing tape - amzn.to/4cCV8tv

Got the 8000 BTU with ionizer from Costco for $300. Best price out of anywhere
it's $240 right now on Costco's website.
@@iCanonKiD You're right, my shipped to door price was $255 afer the $80 rebate, plus tax

I drilled a hole in the corner, I don't like the water sitting in there. Be careful where you drill.
