- Comic actor Jim Belushi, who became famous for his TV, film and stage appearances, may have found a role he was born to play. Correspondent Luke Burbank talks with Belushi about pursuing his agricultural passion on his Oregon cannabis farm, and about the western wildfires that came close to burning it to the ground.

His brother would be so proud of him
Yeah I wonder what his brother's gateway drug was?
Belushi legitimately thinks that if his brother was a pothead he'd still be alive today.
@@byrnc927 there’s no such thing as a “gateway” drug
@@TimothyFitch
You can think that. Lot of corpses out there that would tell you different.
@UCCbMrRKlObXL_jTRcucXl1A Haha I smoke and never have done anything else. Gateway!!! Your an idiot
According to Jim is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. Jim is a legend.
It would be better if they showed actual growing techniques instead of just laughing around
He is a very good man! A good actor, husband, dad. He is a legend! Very chill and intelligent guy! I like him. 🙂
Damn, are you ever easily amused.. If his last name wasn't belushi nobody outside of Chicago would have heard of him.. He rode his brothers fame to a career and the only positive career choice he made was not to overdose..
@@timwhite7127 I hear you.... but I can do the same without spending millions!
Hahaha agree to disagree I thought that show was so poorly written and awful. It has funny moments but not really over all good
It literally grounds you, best statement I've ever heard, plant something, grow something because it will teach you humility. Being connected to nature will make you a happy camper!
u don't need pot to get your connection...or even to grow anything but of course growing your own food is great...just take your shoes off and walk around barefoot and u take in the power of the earth mother....or sit down for an hour directly on the earth and let that energy come in thru your base chakra and up thru all your chakras...as for consciousness if you practice sitting and walking meditation around 8 hours a day breathing back and forth between 2 points you'll enter a state of ecstasy and high bliss and probably be able to leave your body (astral travel) ...people achieve stuff thru pot or psychedelics like lsd and muchrooms and DMT but it can all be done naturally because the right method will produce the chemistry of ecstasy in the body (endogous DMT)
Truth
It grounded me for 2 weeks after the poisonous arthropod bit me in the ankle. He lets his farm workers lay in the grass with snakes and spiders, no protection, he's a cheap POS.
@@babkeebabkus8177 he's not talking about pot. Grounding is a wiccan ritual.
@@oneshotonekill8176 Lol exactly. UA-cam hid your comment. The news tries to make insiders look good, but they're all sell outs.
I remember going to John’s funeral as a kid. My first friend as a kid was Albanian and family to the Belushi family. They all were right around where I grew up in the Chicago burbs. Interesting and good to see him turn to something organic and green like plant medicine. 💚
Much respect to Jim
What a nice guy. All the best to him and his family.
What a lovely human being, who turned tragic loss into healing medicine and loving kindness. #forever #thebluesbrothers
That's how we lost John.
True & accurate is the idea that cannot be grasped...(We're all impermanent & vulnerable. Everyone is learning. Life is brief. Carpe Diem!) 🐔 It's a chicken or the egg story. 🥚Perhaps it doesn't matter which, or what came first & foremost. Rather it might be about being human, which is the fleeting sentiment felt. Everyone has to take responsibility for what we do.#justtypin #likeacandleinthewind
I grow 3 plants a year. I make pain medicine for my friends with Arthritis. My plants are beautiful. It breaks my heart to cut them. It's just beautiful watching them grow. They fold at night and rise so beautiful in the mornings. The more I talj to them and love them the more beautiful they are are.
You've been smoking it. Everything is beautiful.
One of my favorite actors ❤God bless this man . I love you movies I still I'm a great fan thank you James?
I’ve always had a bit of a crush on Jim. He’s a handsome teddy bear kinda guy. Seems so sweet, super funny and looks like he gives great hugs❣️ He’s perfect in this role. Farmer Jim 👨🏼🌾
Hello, thanks for your endless love and support you have constantly shown me. I can't appreciate enough the unconditional love and good wishes I have gotten from fans. I decided to take out time today from my busy schedules to get close to my fans and know their thoughts towards my career. How long have you been a fan?
"and looks like he gives great hugs".. I like that.
@@jimbelushi545 NOBODY believes you're the actor and NOBODY thinks its cute or clever to impersonate a famous actor, in fact it's pretty pathetic
Ty CBS.
Much love to the talented and warm-hearted Jim
James Belushi has aged like a fine wine. I honestly love his agriculture venture more than his time in films & I loved him in films.
He had amazing story on “Animated” re: his ayuasca experience. It’s crazy to me how many people transform their lives thereafter (& how they all come away with a spirtual, somewhat stoic perspective whilst having a great connection to nature, plants and love).
What saddens me is that line, “if he was a pot head, he’d be alive today.” I actually feel that way about a lot of people.
I think I’ll take the plunge this year. I’m sure I’ll come across this video again years from now (to provide an update for anyone who is curious).
❤
Love this man. So good to see him looking so healthy and happy. Amazed at how young he still looks!! Proves the quality of his product I guess. Thanks John B good to see you.
Love doesn’t exist.
Wish Jim well and still remember the laughter he and his brother gave us
I love him even more now!
I am 64 now. Back in the day, I never liked weed that much. It made me groggy or paranoid. I tried it again a few years ago after a very long hiatus ( about 30 years). My opinion hasn’t changed. I understand that many people need or want to medicate themselves to deal with reality or to party. I drank for much of my adulthood for the same reasons. Eight years ago I stopped drinking and just live clean of all substances ( except Tylenol and the occasional Ambien). It’s possible. However for things like PTSD, severe anxiety, chemo related nausea, etc, I can see the point.
btw, tylenol will destroy your liver.
peace & love
Only if you take more than recommended dose. The maximum per day is 4000 mg, which I never get near to taking it..
Tylenol is actually one of the safer medications we have unless you take too much.
"paranoid" . . . "Like looking in your mirror and seeing a police car."
'The laws' fed a lot of the social ills.
i loved weed until i got cannabis hyperemesis syndrome now it's ruined for me :(
I’ve had uncontrolled epilepsy since childhood and I’ve gone to great lengths to try to control my seizures but it’s my career path that has kept me from trying medicinal marijuana. I have been a Critical Care RN for nearly 28 years. While medicinal marijuana is legal where I live my employer can still legally fire me should I ever be tested on the job so I just don’t do it. I put my career and my patients before my own health and well-being. It really shouldn’t be this way. I’ve been toxic on so many antiepileptic drugs (AED’s), had multiple surgeries, endless barbaric testing and tried various non traditional treatments since infancy but still my epilepsy is uncontrolled. I’d love to see if marijuana could help me but I just can’t risk my career. Maybe one day this beautiful plant can help me.
We love your show Growing Belushi!!! I hope 2nd season is coming.

Yeah I really liked this one 💯
Would have been nice had CBS covered the Almeda fire referenced in this video. It was the worst tragedy to ever hit S. OREGON. Bad taste on CBS part to use the Almeda fire in this story and glaze over such a horrible tragedy to talk about a weed grow.
What a cool story. Happy for him and it’s nice to see him enjoying something that gives him such happiness.
What a cool story. The worst tragedy to ever hit S. Oregon. 2000 people homeless in an afternoon. The Almeda fire mentioned in this video was not in any way cool. Nor was it in good taste for CBS to use this tragedy in their story of a weed grow.
I'm glad belushi had water to spray his estate that day.
Rogue Valley is a beautiful place. I'm grateful to live out here and work in the booming Cannabis industry.
I've always liked Jim Belushi, he seems like a great guy!
Never liked him
2020: We, are now all living in South Park
I have always greatly enjoyed Jim's acting including all of his movies as well as his television show "All About Jim". Disappointed to hear he is not acting much anymore but I am happy for him having started a great new career; also I love Oregon If I am ever back I would like to sample and enjoy a some of Jim's new product. Thanks very much Jim for the laughter you brought into my life.
Did you mean according to jim
Nope, it was: According to Lew
@@lewstone5430 According To Wilhelm: in space no one can hear you cliche
There’s really nothing wrong with growing or smoking cannabis. Had a friend that was epileptic. He used to take a few puffs from his joint whenever he felt a seizure coming on. Amazing how it relaxed his muscles. He used to have a small greenhouse with a couple of plants. I wonder how he’s doing these days.
I remember a guy before anyone knew it had medical benefits and before he smoked he was all stuttering and jumpy and after smoking he didn't stutter or was jumpy. It was about 1999 I believe. I forget what he had but it was something similar.
We’re meant to pray for the people we used to know. You never know what a prayer could do for an old friend or someone you just happen to remember. You’ll find out later in Heaven. 🙏
@@smokymountainangoras Me knowing you prayed for me doesn't do anything.
@@ebogar42 Because of your negative attitude, Brogar.
Too bad I'm allergic to the stuff. Haven't taken a hit in over 35 years. But if I ever need chemo, I'll try it again.
Ever since I started watching your new show growing Belushi I started re-watching all of your old movies 😂💚🌿💯
Now if I ever bump into Jim I know we will have tons to talk about. Been growing for 25 years.
Hello, I really admire what you are doing. I’m trying to grow myself and miserably failing. I’m a 3 time combat veteran as a 11B and got out 2014 January 17. I’m a 100% disabled and I feel the I have no purpose in life anymore because everything I do in life I’m always failing or wrecking something. I know compared to you I’m just a no body. But I wish I could come down to your farm and work for you hand help. I’m a hard worker and time is not an issue I will work until the daily chores are done if it take 15 hours or 24 I will not stop. I’m honest and very loyal I hate thieves and liars and I always take responsibility if I mess up. I would work hard 24/7 if need be. I’ve been blown up 7 Times and rendered unconscious for a suffer TBI PTSD chronic pain my lower back my left knee my neck but that will not stop me from working my hardest especially if it’s something I believe in and I believe in you so could you please consider bringing me down and let me work I could use the therapy….. please pretty please🙏🏻
Bro, being responsible and hard working isn't failing by any stretch of the imagination.
Don't dwell on any mishaps.
Your ethics are positive.
You're willing to push forward.
Focus on your strengths, keeping in mind your limitations.
You'll be alright.
Any problems that you have overcome already and will overcome in the future make you stronger and more knowledgeable.
Peace be unto you, brother, and thank you for your sacrifice.
Get a Ed Rosenthal grow book it will tell you everything.
It's not hard to grow weed. I literally just planted some in some good soil outside beside an old chicken coop and it grew and I never touched it. lol
If you're growing inside get some CO2. You have to watch the temps too. You don't want it too cold or hot. Use a fan to simulate wind to make them stronger and grow better. Snip the tops and several tops will grow out producing more buds. Make sure you don't overwater either. Holes in bottom of pots to drain.
@@ebogar42 you're right it's NOT hard to grow but it is a little tougher to grow GOOD weed
We need more people like him in the world. TY Jim
This makes me so angry when there are people in prison for doing the same thing.
It's still illegal where I'm at. I guess that makes me an outlaw
But.... they only arrest poor people for stuff like this. Poor people deserve nothing. That's why we are trying to take guns away from the poor and just let's the rich have them. Like Europe.
Now all they got to do is throw Belushi in there with them
KNew it.💚 watched according to Jim every day after school freshman year .
What came first? The farm or the idea for a realty show? Either way, I'll be watching. Wish his brother was still here.
He had a miniseries about him building the house, called Building Belushi.
Hello Teresa, how are you doing?
Gotta love Belushi, man!!!
Hello marina melo, how are you doing?
Never would of imagined 👏🏼😂Best to him and his Family 💕
What I love about Jim is he is a humanitarian. I have scene him twice with Dan Aykroid as the Blues Brothers at the VA in West LA. He and Dan had put a Christmas show put together with some of the original band memebers. I'll never forget it. Now I guess he has another passion and is happy doing it. He has done so much for veterans and now the firemen and First Responders. God bless Jim and I hope he stays happy doing what he loves to do.
Hello pretty, your comment really tells more about you how are you doing?
Hello pretty? Do you always call dudes pretty?
Just an Awesome Person with Amazing talents and now He's living the dream.

And all the cannabis to help people feel no pain no anxiety ECT nothing but good .. You got this Jim. If I had the money I growing too!!!
Could this dude be any cooler? And that estate he has is stunning
Jim has the right idea. I’m getting into the same line of work. Pays amazingly from home with the right facilities. I’m so proud of him. I wish him all the best with his crops.
Humblebrag
Weed is so cheap now. It does NOT pay.
My respect level for this man just went through the roof.
Jim knows what the Best medicine on the planet is because he's growing it. I mean those damn things are almost as big as redwoods!
I would give anything to meet and work for him, the peace there must be working on his ranch surrounded bye country quiet sound of the breeze in the trees , I truly miss that!

Funny story! When I got kicked out of school I couldn't read and write, the first book I learnt to read was John Belushi's biography.
I guess I'll be visiting his house soon.
I loved his role in the movie “Thief” a very underrated movie. It’s great.
Well done Jim. You are a true inspiration. The whole of Albania is behind you as well as doing exactly the same as you. A little giant weed farming community 🍃🍃🍃🍃😊

No wildfires in Louisiana, lots of water and fertile land. I live in a lake house you should check out the properties that are lake houses the prices will make you go huh? Much cheaper than Colorado. But their medical marijuana program is young and needs some cultivation. Great weather almost year round. Lots of rain, but it's wonderful. I was 12 when your brother passed away. I was so sad. My deepest condolences, you are doing great things and they honor your family and brother. Congratulations! And thank you for the many years of entertainment. You are very smart and a talented actor.❤
