Nikon Z8 + New DZO PAVO 2X Anamorphic 65, 135, 180mm | EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK

- Our good friends over at DZOFILM gave us exclusive first hand access to test out their new DZOFILM PAVO 2X Anamorphic at NAB. The unreleased 65mm Macro, 135mm, and 185mm lenses. We had from 6pm Tuesday to 9am Wednesday to put these lenses to the test. So we put the Nikon Z8, Nikon Raw, and these lenses to the test. We did use the 5K crop mode instead of full frame. It's so much fun to shoot anamorphic on the Nikon Z8.

I planned on uploading this a couple of days ago, but when I got back from NAB, my dog passed away. Nonetheless, I can do it with a broken heart. We had from 6pm Tuesday to 9am Wednesday to put these lenses to the test. We did shoot in the 5K crop mode using Nikon N-RAW which helped us out so much. Overall these lenses were a blast to shoot with. The 65MM macro is my favorite! Thank you DZO for giving us access to these lenses
Man this is exactly what I was looking for. A lot of the video footage on UA-cam from the Z8/9 are from photographers that don’t have the same “eye” for cinematography. No knock on them but cinematography has very different goals when it comes to composition lighting etc… Its so good to see cinematic footage from this camera shot by a cinematographer. Not all photographers can be great cinematographers. Great stuff Sidney. Can’t wait to get the Z8! Hopefully I can order one in the next couple weeks

hmm, I actually found that it did look clinical. may have been soften by the anamorphic but still digital and clinical.

Those are some beautiful shots! Does the Z8 has any anamorphic modes like desqeeze or at least preview?
