Let me introduce you to the math on this: Ele's ST is at least 10% nerf (please note, that ST was never ele's strong point during long fights) Ele's AoE is approximately nerfed by 20%. In m+ it's more or less 16% nerf. Also, entire hero tree (stormbringer) is now useless in both m+ and ST. on top of all that, mastery once again lost a lot of value, and people recrafting their gear lost TONS of gold, guess what, only for it to be dogshit again 48 hours after the patch. So they will likely have to recraft it again when those changes go live on Tuesday. How absurd is this for blizzard to put a set of changes that big in the middle of a season? Nobody asked for this shit rework, we would gladly go back to what we were before all of this and be happy with our mid to high-mid performance. But no. Ele can never have any fun in this game.
Time is a flat circle, psychic link is 30% again in time for mdi. I’m convinced that mdi/tgp unironically causes shadow to get buffed/nerfed in cycles. It’s busted in mdi, gets nerfed and is bad, stays bad for a bit, and gets buffed again a few months later in time for it to be abused in mdi. Realistically it’s just how they scale in high target counts but it’s funny how often psychic link goes between 30% to 20% back to 25% and then 30% again

Fury war really just wanted our target cap reversed. We have tried this experiment already and it failed miserably. Even doing queen tonight as the only war I felt like I was letting my raid group down because where as before I did no boss damage but could free half my raid, I struggled mightily even with the things I'm supposed to be good at. And it wasn't just queen it was every fight. Given i've been away for a couple of weeks and so I'm a bit down on ilvl...but this wasn't comparing my dps to my guild mates...it was mine to my own and the feel of playing the raid... it just feels bad after the target cap. And in M+ my tank pulls like the mad lad he is, and its extremely apparent. While Thane makes the sustain AoE a bit better for higher keys where things are not dying as fast... when I play with certain friends in comps like Fury, Ret, Frost.... If I'm not slayer everything is dead before I can even put that sustain to use. And with is seemingly like ravager's not cleaving multiple targets not actually being a bugged but another undue shadow nerf by blizz it feels even worse. I personally don't find arms fun to play but I feel bad for my brothers in arms (heh) who keep catching stray after stray because for some reason they keep feeling fury needed to get continuous nerfs week after week it seems while other classes just remained beastly and brought actual utility. It is nice to see some changes... they sound like some good buffs, but the cap not being reverted is a dagger to the heart (or an arrow to the knee). We Fury have lived through this already... blizzard may have somehow forgot but we did not. It ended poorly, very poorly, and it feels like we barely just got out from the target cap jail they had us in for so long. Insane aggro issues even when another class is doubling your dps on a trash pull because you can only hit 5 targets and they can hit all of them or at least most before seeing reduced damage, but those 5 mobs get really really really mad at you. We can't even make food or fel cookies or portals or summon people. We just hit things... but god forbid they do good damage! NERF THE WARRIORS HOW DARE THEY DO THE ONLY THING THEY BRING TO THE TABLE!!! But hey at least we finally got an AoE stun back and a ST stun that once again doesn't require losing important talents to take... oh wait they made those virtually useless this expansion. How convenient. So pick one... let us be the wrecking balls our class fantasy describes us as, or give us some sort of utility... something... but nothing... for this long... while other classes seem to just get more every expansion. also give DH, a 3rd spec already, druids have four and you can't even give a third to DH after how many expansions? But your lizard people get a third broken one after one patch... Don't just give them lame tier sets and green icons. And Windwalker is a spec... just in case you forgot.
There is a bit too much negativity sometimes, esp. considering the story is decent, game is fun (even if buggy - think Palworld lmao) and the hero talents/dungies aren't that bad now they've been tuned. I will say fuck the Brutosaur, that was a total mistake.
@kristoffer3000 they don't change it that much. They just tune the damage of psychic link and then they nerfed Mass dispel because it was broken. Shadow priest has been consistently good for many seasons, and meta for at least a couple of them
I KNEW those Blood dk nerfs were just us getting caught in the crossfire of nerfing frost; so many folks were trying to pretend like blood dk was doing way too much damage and needed a nerf despite being one of the lowest damage tanks in the game, if not THE lowest. It's good to know blizzard isn't malicious, just clearly struggling to finish an unfinished patch.
Nerfing BM after they're finally good in keys is goofy af. I guess since Warrior DPS is finally getting buffed and they're not going to nerf an already bad DPS anymore it's someone else's turn. I guess that's BM.

Great to see some of the Arms nerfs from Beta being basically reverted finally. Colossus is way more fun in keys than Slayer and should be the premier spec for Arms in Keys.
People seeing big numbers on Aff changes and think it does anything doesn't play the spec. They could double the damage of all the DoTs and it wouldn't change much due to how much of their damage is Rapture and Drain Soul (filler spell btw).
Everyday they do a 180 on ele lol. Seriously feels like blizzard have no idea what they’re doing. Expansion just came out and you still see daily drastic changes. Absolute fools.

Balance being buffed in aoe is hilarious. Single target needed it, why did i go from 1.1mil to 900k? My aoe was still high though. Haven't mained it since first season of BFA, but I had to go back simply because they never let it be weak for long. Buffing balance and making sure starfall keeps you at the top of the meter while you bear form for an aoe is blizz's guilty pleasure

You mean being good on 3 bosses in raid during a meaningless heroic week where nobody had their tier yet and then get 6 nerfs before 11.0.5 even hit (and one shadow nerf blizz didn't even plan on telling us that archi had to find out). And then when everyone got their tier sets they shot way past us but we kept getting nerfed, and when content got hard enough to where things didn't die in 3 seconds and our dps fell off a cliff we kept getting nerfed? And then when our single target was worse than Aug evoker we kept getting nerfed? And then we finally get a ST buff and they target cap us.... making us not even good at the fights that got us nerfed in the first place and crippled us for any chance at m+ because we have 0 utility and rely solely on damage to bring anything to the table? Where as specs that were good to great have gone un touched or even buffed in that same span? Let me guess you play a boomie or an aug evoker...

Playing every expansion since the last patch of Mists of pandaria. Mythic + has been out since Legion and I have never seen more shitty class balance changes since m+ was out. This is incredible that they are doing these changes. sadge
I’m an elemental main. Have been since the start of Shadowlands (I’m a recovering moonkin) These were 100% justified in terms of power but blizzard shifting us back to farseer is really frustrating. The gameplay is a lot less fun in the tree is designed way worse. All in although, I still like the changes overall. The new ascendance feels awesome. Hopefully we still have a weaving playstyle after these changes. I think the most common complaint you will hear in the elemental community is blizzard forces us to one side of the tree or the other.
Ive mained shaman since MoP, this is not justified.... elemental overload nerfs were uncalled for. Ascendance nerf is only thing they should have nerfed and maybe the chan lightning/earthquake to 10%, not 5%. Not the other stuff
The changes, btw., do not do anything to save Diabolist for Destruction in M+ or AoE-focused raid encounters. Diabolist is still super terrible in those scenarios after the heavy nerf to its AoE capabilities.
@@Nhouyengah If you honestly thought that warlocks did as much DPS as retribution paladins, enhancement shamans or arcane mages then we're simply playing very different games - might be the case in LFR or lower keys, but definitely once you look at the last 2 heroic raid bosses, +10 or higher keys or mythic raiding.
It doesnt really matter for raid encounters, because a pure 100% uptime aoe fight basically doesnt exist. even ovinax has waves of adds. this means you can prep your diab demon with st spells as normal and bank them for burst aoe. although you will have problems getting a second demon out if the wave lives long enough (ovi + ulgrax). m+ is absolutely rip tho :D
The 200 difference in M+ rating between affix/destro and actual underperforming specs like sub rogue and BM hunter tells a different story. One look at statistics proved that. While also providing unique and good utility.
MM was overperforming in single target since when?? They do shit single target, especially when in M+ talents. Boss damage is so ass in M+ and makes it feel completely awful in high keys.
Finally, warlocks are getting some much needed buffs ! We've been super undertuned since release and it was often comical to see how much work I had to put in while wearing significantly better gear to even get close to the damage ret paladins, enhancement shamans and arcane mages were doing - and frost DKs aswell in M+, of course.
Sounds like a you problem, i was outdpsing most of the people who were 10 ilvl+ than me in mythic plus with demo and aff. Still cant get the grip of destro tho. You mostly have to adjuat your cd depending on how the tank is pulling
@@ayayashiba1231 It's not a "me problem", all 3 specs are currently undertuned. If you're out-DPSing the meta specs then you're either a better player than them or your gear is better. I'm playing destro and I don't have any specific CDs I can plan around, I need to use Cataclysm and Infernal as soon as the tank has gathered all of the mobs and then I need to use my low CD-based spells (Shadowburn and Conflagrate) so that they never stay charge-capped and aim my rain of fire well, not much more to it than that. I still got out-DPS'ed by retribution paladins just button-mashing divine storm if they had the same ilvl as me, for example.
So I play Mw, PvP. They remove Thunderous focus tea a pvp talent and I lose my 100% knockback which I'm still not happy with as it fitted a Monk like a glove. Instead they allow me to turn Jade lightning into a killer and healing bomb. My killing blows and kills have gone through the roof. If I pre cast, I have 1.1m dmg in my pocket which I can unload then cast Focus Tea and hit you again with the same while turning a big chunk of that damage into a insta heals. I'm supposed to be a healer with crafty utility not a killer and finisher.
Psychic link is doing what it was designed to do, blizzard is using it as a blaming point/balancing ability. But its not Psychic link thats doing all the damage, its just dispering the ST damage from other spells, all because some players can maximize the effectiveness of it and keep great uptime on VT on all mobs and then nuking a prior target is a way to reward players with great damage for playing the ability properly. If group only pull 2 packs at a time the whole dungeon or if players only us shadow crash and keep 8 mobs with VT on 20+ trash pack pulls its not strong. But 20+ mobs with VT, Psychic link will dominate. Just stop focusing on Psychic link as a shadow priest balancing tool
nothing for ww?............ just has no niche now and does nothing fun, they need to make xuen work like gargoyle, each chi u spend buffs its damage done or something like that
Aff Buffs: 3-4% Destro: 8% Demo: "Significant" (we don't know yet, spec is harder to sim) As expected the aff buffs are not that big as they buffed some of our weaker damage sources. (Agony alone is doing less damage than Mad Queen's Mandate, and UA is decently below agony with corruption being about 50% of Agony's damage). Aff's fill spell (drain soul) is their second highest DPS source, with the majority of their DPS being in their spender, malefic rapture.
They still skipping over the fact that celestial conduit build for mistweaver is beyond dirt for pve forcing us to play shadow pan. It is beyond horrible the damage loss is significant so like why are they just avoiding this completely

TLDR: Don't touch a class for a few weeks following a re-work because Blizzard doesn't actually test their own tuning before releasing it live.

As a shadow main the psychic link section had me dying. I talk about this all the time!! They have no idea what to do with that talent

People seeing big numbers on Aff changes and think it does anything doesn't play the spec. They could double the damage of all the DoTs and it wouldn't change much due to how much of their damage is Rapture and Drain Soul (filler spell btw).

Balance being buffed in aoe is hilarious. Single target needed it, why did i go from 1.1mil to 900k? My aoe was still high though. Haven't mained it since first season of BFA, but I had to go back simply because they never let it be weak for long. Buffing balance and making sure starfall keeps you at the top of the meter while you bear form for an aoe is blizz's guilty pleasure
All 3 Mage specs bottom half damage thank goodness they get no changes.

You mean being good on 3 bosses in raid during a meaningless heroic week where nobody had their tier yet and then get 6 nerfs before 11.0.5 even hit (and one shadow nerf blizz didn't even plan on telling us that archi had to find out). And then when everyone got their tier sets they shot way past us but we kept getting nerfed, and when content got hard enough to where things didn't die in 3 seconds and our dps fell off a cliff we kept getting nerfed? And then when our single target was worse than Aug evoker we kept getting nerfed? And then we finally get a ST buff and they target cap us.... making us not even good at the fights that got us nerfed in the first place and crippled us for any chance at m+ because we have 0 utility and rely solely on damage to bring anything to the table? Where as specs that were good to great have gone un touched or even buffed in that same span? Let me guess you play a boomie or an aug evoker...

Time to reroll enhancement I changed some of my bis gear to mastery gear this wednesday for this stuff to happen. They better offer us a way to revert this.
Playing every expansion since the last patch of Mists of pandaria. Mythic + has been out since Legion and I have never seen more shitty class balance changes since m+ was out. This is incredible that they are doing these changes. sadge
So a quick handed 10% nerf. Fun game they made here.
It just feels like tanks are an after thought, and it has for years.

These were 100% justified in terms of power but blizzard shifting us back to farseer is really frustrating. The gameplay is a lot less fun in the tree is designed way worse.
All in although, I still like the changes overall. The new ascendance feels awesome. Hopefully we still have a weaving playstyle after these changes. I think the most common complaint you will hear in the elemental community is blizzard forces us to one side of the tree or the other.
Yeah i hate it. The whole Storm Build was so much more fun, but they want us to play boring proc ele again

Ive mained shaman since MoP, this is not justified.... elemental overload nerfs were uncalled for. Ascendance nerf is only thing they should have nerfed and maybe the chan lightning/earthquake to 10%, not 5%. Not the other stuff
They were needed but they were not needed at the amount we got them with how long our burst windows are. This nerf is ridiculous.
The changes, btw., do not do anything to save Diabolist for Destruction in M+ or AoE-focused raid encounters. Diabolist is still super terrible in those scenarios after the heavy nerf to its AoE capabilities.

@@Nhouyengah If you honestly thought that warlocks did as much DPS as retribution paladins, enhancement shamans or arcane mages then we're simply playing very different games - might be the case in LFR or lower keys, but definitely once you look at the last 2 heroic raid bosses, +10 or higher keys or mythic raiding.
It doesnt really matter for raid encounters, because a pure 100% uptime aoe fight basically doesnt exist. even ovinax has waves of adds. this means you can prep your diab demon with st spells as normal and bank them for burst aoe. although you will have problems getting a second demon out if the wave lives long enough (ovi + ulgrax).

The 200 difference in M+ rating between affix/destro and actual underperforming specs like sub rogue and BM hunter tells a different story. One look at statistics proved that. While also providing unique and good utility.

MM was overperforming in single target since when?? They do shit single target, especially when in M+ talents. Boss damage is so ass in M+ and makes it feel completely awful in high keys.

Finally, warlocks are getting some much needed buffs ! We've been super undertuned since release and it was often comical to see how much work I had to put in while wearing significantly better gear to even get close to the damage ret paladins, enhancement shamans and arcane mages were doing - and frost DKs aswell in M+, of course.

Sounds like a you problem, i was outdpsing most of the people who were 10 ilvl+ than me in mythic plus with demo and aff. Still cant get the grip of destro tho. You mostly have to adjuat your cd depending on how the tank is pulling
@@ayayashiba1231 It's not a "me problem", all 3 specs are currently undertuned. If you're out-DPSing the meta specs then you're either a better player than them or your gear is better. I'm playing destro and I don't have any specific CDs I can plan around, I need to use Cataclysm and Infernal as soon as the tank has gathered all of the mobs and then I need to use my low CD-based spells (Shadowburn and Conflagrate) so that they never stay charge-capped and aim my rain of fire well, not much more to it than that. I still got out-DPS'ed by retribution paladins just button-mashing divine storm if they had the same ilvl as me, for example.

So I play Mw, PvP. They remove Thunderous focus tea a pvp talent and I lose my 100% knockback which I'm still not happy with as it fitted a Monk like a glove. Instead they allow me to turn Jade lightning into a killer and healing bomb. My killing blows and kills have gone through the roof. If I pre cast, I have 1.1m dmg in my pocket which I can unload then cast Focus Tea and hit you again with the same while turning a big chunk of that damage into a insta heals. I'm supposed to be a healer with crafty utility not a killer and finisher.

Psychic link is doing what it was designed to do, blizzard is using it as a blaming point/balancing ability. But its not Psychic link thats doing all the damage, its just dispering the ST damage from other spells, all because some players can maximize the effectiveness of it and keep great uptime on VT on all mobs and then nuking a prior target is a way to reward players with great damage for playing the ability properly. If group only pull 2 packs at a time the whole dungeon or if players only us shadow crash and keep 8 mobs with VT on 20+ trash pack pulls its not strong. But 20+ mobs with VT, Psychic link will dominate. Just stop focusing on Psychic link as a shadow priest balancing tool

Demo: "Significant" (we don't know yet, spec is harder to sim)
As expected the aff buffs are not that big as they buffed some of our weaker damage sources. (Agony alone is doing less damage than Mad Queen's Mandate, and UA is decently below agony with corruption being about 50% of Agony's damage).
Aff's fill spell (drain soul) is their second highest DPS source, with the majority of their DPS being in their spender, malefic rapture.
The sims have revised the above to:
Aff: 2-3%
Demo: 5%
Destro: 8%
ST ofc
Brewmasters trash tier. 4 % representation in 12 and up keys. Yeppp nothing for them, working as intended. Just keep getting clapped.
They still skipping over the fact that celestial conduit build for mistweaver is beyond dirt for pve forcing us to play shadow pan. It is beyond horrible the damage loss is significant so like why are they just avoiding this completely
