Who is the cameraman? Fire him immediately please
Good physiotherapist, worst cameraman of all time
I felt same frustration. I wish he could redo the video with shots focused on the leg!
Definitely! I couldn't see anything. Smh
🤣
Wish we could actually see it!
HOW ON EARTH DID U DO THAT?! I've had this pain for 10+ years and doctors keep telling me I need knee surgeries and all. I did the exercise twice, it cracks and the throbbing pain ceased!! Holy moly thanks so much for this video!!! You've saved my knee!!!!
Do you have pain now ?
@@itspreetamhello so it's been 2 years since I did the exercise. The pain emerges from time to time depending on what activities I did. Jumping, deep lunges and incline walking definitely exacerbates the pain. I find that strengthening my legs helped a lot, and in case of worse pain, I revisited this video (like today!) and do another round of exercise. Hope that helped!
@@pricchanI did the exercise every single day for multiple sets, pain was gone. I strengthened the specific area that's needed to be, and worked up slowly on strength training
Thank you so much. I almost never comment on anything, but this is a game changer for me.
Thank you so much. I haven’t found any quickest and detailed description on how to adjust the meniscus correctly and effectively as you did 👏🏼👌🏼 great job doc
Been having some swelling and pain in knee for about two weeks. It was sort of sore and range of motion was limited. I fell asleep with my knee off the side of the couch on the floor. I DONT KNOW WHY... But it felt right. I woke up and laid on my back, raised my leg up and felt a shift and a huge sharp rush go through my knee. It was the strangest feeling. It didn't feel good at first but now I have full motion, no pain, and the swelling has decreased 50% easy for the first time in two weeks. I'm guessing this was what was happening. Good Lord what a relief...
YOOOOOOOOOOOO IT'S BEEN 7 MONTHS POST OPERATION (MEDIAL MENISCUS REPAIR AND ACL REPAIR SURGERY. MEDIAL MENISCUS WAS IN PAIN FREQUENTLY ESPECIALLY WHEN BENDING THE KNEES A GOOD AMOUNT. THE INSTANT I DID THIS IT WAS GONE IM MIND BLOWNNNNNN 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
I like how gentle this is - so many excercises I tried reinjured me - this one does not. Thank You for your time and video.
i wrecked my knee a few months back and had it fixed during a visit. And i just repeated that same impingement 5 min ago... A quick youtube search later, my knee is fully extending once again. I'm gonna remember this drill. Thanks!!
Happy to hear. Now strengthen those legs!!
My knee pinch issue reduced right away!! Thank you!!
I did it for about 10 minutes the exercise repeating Dr G recommendation on the video and it worked , i forced my self and it was painful i felt would be sick at some point but after repeated his recommendations i was able to straighten my feet gradually to the point where is was freely bending and straightening it with almost no pain. I had tears of Joy! Appreciate your video!
wow, I spent almost 8 months on crutches and couldn't sleep for this pain, mri showed pinched disc, was told to use a knee brace, didn't help much, this tip did though thanks so much excellent glad I found it.
Thank you so much for this, i did for a 4 days every day until my knee popped twice.
Kept icing and applying heat while not moving as much as possible and I’m fine; it took two weeks of rest
Awesome Jose! you were had a classic case of menisus impingement and healed in the 8-14 day period that is expected!!!
I figured my 'injury' was neural because I still had great movement, just the pain was spread in a trapped nerve sort of way. Went training yesterday, since last October, no problem, just stayed away from anything that aggravated the impingement 'feeling' Now, I've just done this today and it's so relieving to do such a simple exercise, that should allow me to get back training full time. Thanks Doctor G Whizz!
Many thanks, straight forward and easy enough. I like that you used the pen to illustrate. God Bless!
Why do they take the camera off his foot every time we need to see something... people could get injured doing it wrong while trying to follow along
Totally agree ! - every time he said just do this.....they moved to show his FACE!!!!
I think the right movement is described here at 3 mins 49 seconds of the following video ua-cam.com/video/4dR-4XCAjAs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=Dr.KristieEnnis
😁
God bless you for giving this to us. Decades of pain, being told to get a knee replacement, etc. I have to continue doing this every day or so, it's easy, and it WORKS!
I was on a vacation at a hill station and was exploring the entire place so I walked a lot. Lots of intense steeps and slopes. And then I had an acute pain in my knees out of no where. It was like a knife being stabbed in my knees. For 2 days I was not able to stretch my leg properly.
Half of my vacation was ruined.
After looking a lot on UA-cam I found this video. I tried it and it really worked very well for some time. I could walk normally. However the pain came back when i was walking on a steep road again but this time i implemented this same thing and i fixed it then and there.
I still have to show it to an ortho.
Speaking as a fellow Physical Therapist this concept is Great! I only wish the camera had focused "more" on the technique being performed while you were doing it 🙃.. but I somewhat get the gist of it.
What is this technique based on? Is this a type of joint mobilization, and if so, what type? (Is it Maitland orMWM for example?) And where would a fellow PT look into to learn more of these techniques?
Hey, thank you very much for this tip! I can't believe such simple move can help so much - to be completely honest, it didn't fixed it like magic - taking out all the pain immediately, but it gets me from non-walking state to fully walking with small discomfort. It's a shame that none of (dozen of) doctors which i visited in past several years didn't suggested anything similar, but only ton of completely non-helpful therapies with current, lasers, magnets, and of course suggestion for surgical removal of problematic meniscus part!
Vladimir unfortunately mechanical problems require mechanical solutions. Everything else is gimmicky. I would recommend a leg press machine to help you balance all your lower leg muscles and eliminate the pain forever.
@@CatalystPT speaking as a fellow Physical Therapist you have literally "quoted" what I say to many of my patients: "Mechanical problems require Mechanical solutions". Your approach here is brilliant. Great work!
This is amazing! Took the pain away after tweaking my knee two weeks ago!
Great to hear!
@@CatalystPTam I supposed to exert any real pressure with the fingers? Thanks
I have a crack in my meniscus & I’m going for a steroid injection in 3 wks. But it’s the popping that is annoying me now as much as the pain. I’ll give this a try man. Thanks
Awesome video , I thought my meniscus was torn but it wasn’t this exercise helped me a lot ! But 80% of the pain has been fixed there still a slight stabbing pain on the medial side specially when I squat otherwise this helped me a lot , any tips on how to fully recover ?
Hey Doc, I hope this works, how often and for how long. Thx for posting
Thank you very much it works!
Thanks. This is helping my knee feel better
I know my doctor is mostly right about me having patellerformoral pain syndrome as I have improved my leg muscle balance however, I still get pain right where this video mentions especially after walking on concrete for awhile. Thanks for the tip!
You may have to add heel raises for the calf muscles and the adductor (inner thigh) muscles.
thankyousomuch!
you saved my knee
Very cool - thank you for sharing!
The cameraman has chosen the wrong profession
I was looking for something to treat something similar on the outside of the knee. pinched could only bend it a little bit. alot of pain. I did the first stretch and it sorted it out. Thankyou!
Thank you for the content
What do you do when the pain is lateral and slips out at times?
Awesome! Do you have a video for back of the knee meniscus pain?
Yes, soon
Bro oh my god. oh my god thank you so much
Thank you.
Thank you Jimmy Kimmel!
Lol!! I get that a lot.
lol
Thank you 👍
The picture is mainly on your face not on your knee
Thank you
Okay so when i bend my knee I’m feeling that sharp needle was poking , only when I bend it all the way , but my whole knee hurts , can I use this exercise?
Like others have said- how can the person filming NOT SHOW THE MANEUVER!! We see an upper body shot while the move is being performed.
OMG ! THANK YOU SO MUCH
No problem!!
Hi great videos i can’t straighten my leg fully i keep stretching it it gets almost full extension but 30 mins later its bent again any advice
I have the exact pain, stabbing etc, but after a mri, been told I've got a degenerative complex tear in my medial meniscus, guessing this won't work now
Hi my son is 16 years old his knee element damage in bike accident doctors suggest surgery but he is walking with little bit pain he folding his legs now u suggest me what can I do
I had a twisted knee 10 years ago, had surgery but I was a dumb kid who didn't take the full recovery period. The miniscus was bruised and the doc shaved a bit of it out. And I was also given an exercise routine to strengthen my knee up. I'm not sure if i kept to it then. Any advice for how i could strengthen it up again? I don't have loads of pain but every few months when I'm walking it feels like my knee is bending the wrong way like toward the hamstring not towards the knee cap.
I would start with closed chain activities like wall sits and hold for time. For example 20 sec hold with a 10 sec rest for 4 min. This will make all your lower leg muscles contract isometrically and balance imbalances.
Bro please do this entire video again with a new camerman.
This would be more helpful if I was watching his foot/leg instead of his face….I’m left more confused. Please refilm this!
Wow…. Just wow…
I did this one and another exercise my click/pop has minimized but it's still doing it
Why does my calf muscle feel numb and tight after meniscus tear
I have excruciating pain in both knees with fat pad impingement. I have had it for years and the problem is that I can't physically exercise as it's too painful to even crouch so I'm this never ending cycle of getting worse as I can't physically do anything to get better as it's just unbearable. I'm also gaining weight which makes it harder. I am truly stuck. I tried this technique many times and it just doesn't seem to do anything.
You may have to start by strengthening your feet. Also I would recommend utilizing a stationary bike to combat decreased tolerance to weight bearing.
@@CatalystPT Thanks so much
I have interior knee clicking it still there but not as much as I was doing exercises I saw on UA-cam but it's still not fully gone
what about for the lateral mensicus?
Can I use this for Knee Impingement?
Will be back to let you know if this works.
crikeymos22 you will have to focus on your walking as well. Make sure you shift your weight from heel to big toe as you walk.
Catalyst PT oh thanks for reply. I forgot about this. I tried it a couple of times. Need to start again with a more concerted effort. I agree really focusing on my walk really helps with the stabbing pain. Thank you 😘
So I got my Meniscus fixed when I was 15 and the doctor said I pulled it it would flip back and forth like a bucket handle after I got surgery and never hurt really ever but I am 25 now and about week or so it started hurting ... It isn't a insane pain really but sometimes it does hurt worst at time but It feels like it needs to pop and I can't get it to pop
Could be swelling in the joint. Get on the leg extension machine , work at 60%
What about for the lateral meniscus?
Hi. Please can you tell me what do to about fat pad impingement. It is horrible pain and no one has an actual treatment for it. Thanks please reply
Cgh Rios look at Clair ‘patellar’ website. She specialises in just knee problems. Long talk on Hoffa’s syndrome. Invaluable.
Fat pad syndrome requires strengthening from the feet up the hips to minimize side to side movement at the knee. We will add this to our upcoming ideas for videos.
@@CatalystPT please did you add videos with these exercises? Please reply. Thanks
Dr.
suppose it's on the other side (outside of the Knee) Sleight pain (catching-like) when you take a few steps. It happens like three times a day:?
Weakened quadriceps muscles, leading to dependency on the iliotibial band for stability. Strengthen the quads with slow controlled reps on concentric and eccentric phase.
Will this help with pain behind the knee ?
It might but it has to be off the side on the inside of the knee.
ahahah the suggestions a valuable and free therefore THANK YOU! .. but hey who is the cameramen? ahahahahah you are showing an exercise and he focuses middle section? ahahaha
I know. I was trying to look down to the foot but obviously couldn't lol
Sorry for the camera angle. We will do better.
BUT WHY THE CAMERA IF FORCUSING ON YOUR FACE?
We missed some info while thwee camera if showing your face!
Can't see what your foot is doing in this🥴help
Every step I take my knee crunches or feels stabs and cracks. I had an mri and exray . Was told by orthopedic surgeon that it’s nothing remarkable minimal lipping of the MCL. In constant pain every step I take and no remedy give. Bedsides Tylenol. Any help or suggestions. I tried this and I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly because there’s no change. Still hoping and limping 😢
Crunching, cracks and stabbing are symptoms of you using your joints to hold your body weight up. You may be dealing with a tendonitis( tendinopathy). Address the tendons, then address the muscles to take pressure of the joints and bones.
Good instructions, but the camera angles are horrible I barely saw anything... Thank you nonetheless. Please make an updated version!!!
..too bad that the camera did not show how to do it by filming your face instead..🙄..but thanks anyway doc!
i am getting a sharp pain all of a sudden in front of my knee, like a electroshock and my knee gives away ! x ray show "wear and tear of bone" BUT it's not the bone, it's a never pain , i get the same pain in my hand now
Might be what’s known as lumbar radiculopathy where you pinch a nerve in your back and it sends the signal or stops the signal down your arm or legs.
How are you Now? Iam also have that pain
It would be more helpful if we could actually see what you are doing with your leg through the whole process.
pinch when i do that
It will pinch initially since it is caught between the femur and the tibia. It will gradually start to decrease as the meniscus becomes less impinged. Unfortunately, this is one of those interventions where some discomfort is experienced. Just don't be to aggressive with it.
This is a great video, but every time you say, turn your feet press your heel. Your cameraman turns the other way, and we don’t get to see your foot doing the exercise.
I've supposedly "pinched" the meniscus is my right knee, i have no pain to the touch but i can't straight it or put full weight on it. Xray shows no break or dislocation. Does this diagnosis sound right to you?
If you can not straighten it, the meniscus may be more than pinched. If you can not put weight on it, it requires more than an X-ray. You require an MRI bc there is an internal derangement of the knee structure.
@@CatalystPT thank you 👍
Bro i have the same how do you treat it
Lol fire the cameraman. Can't see a thing
I sent him for training
Mine is pulsating
No pain just click/pop
Does it work for meniscus tears?
Great content but very bad cameraman.
Subscribed.
We are coming back with more vids. Thanks for the sub!
Please re-shoot this video so I can actually see what you’re doing. Just as you were showing us the technique, the camera flipped to your face. It looks like it will really help people… Please please re-shoot
Will reshoot!
Awful filming!
Good diagnosis but what a pathetic video, every time you show how to do the exercise we see your face and not how you are doing it. Alex has shot the video pathetically. Please reshoot and show us how you do it without camera concentrating on your face rather on your leg. Please because I am experiencing the same sharp pain
I have relayed the message to Alex. He is working on improving
The cameramann should show the treatment and not yor face.
Noted. Planning on a reshoot.
