Wyndham Grand Athens An Ok Place To Stay

During my trip to Athens we stayed at the Wyndham Grand Athens Hotel. The hotel has great views of the Acropolis and Parthenon and from the 9th floor pool deck and bistro you can overlook the entire city.
For being a Wyndham Grand I was completely let down with the hotel. The staff were super friendly and courteous. We had the two room suite with Acropolis view. The room was adequate, however, they put a huge rain shower head in the very small shower which made it difficult to shower, let alone breathe while being drowned with water. The beds were extremely hard and the pillows were overstuffed causing our necks to be at weird uncomfortable angles so we ended up using the throw pillows so we could sleep in a somewhat comfortable position.
The hallways on the 7th and 8th floor smelt like mildew. The elevators took forever and while you waited you had to hear this annoying clicking sound from their control panel.
For being a luxury hotel, this hotel was not very luxurious at all. If you plan to travel to Athens there are a lot nicer hotels located closer to the center of town that you should look into.
