like the features, setup was difficult for some of my devices (August Door lock, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxhB5YOMNj04GuoAosExygP4cH-dKeb4aB Bose speaker)... but all switches and outlets (5), thermostat, tankless water heater. Unfortunately all I can do is turn on/off Bose. It doesn't support volume or changing channels, but I believe that is due to the particular speaker I have.... Worth getting if you already have other devices to use it with... I don't sit around and ask Alexa questions much so that doesn't really matter to me....
I use leak detector sensor for detecting when bathtub is full. So, I do not have to check when it's full when fill water to tub. I do not install to a fix location on tub but drop it down by a wire to a water level I want. When take bath in tub, I move it out to avoid notificatiok again.
Great ideas. Very useful. Thank you. Any idea to create 3 way switch (meaning, control the light from 2 different locations ) using aqara products and app?
Awesome channel. Question: Is there a way to get notifications on your iphone when the Aqara sensor detects no motion? It only seems to let you play sounds on your home pods or change the lights but I don’t see the option on ifttt or in the aqara or home kit app. Also for whatever reason my aqara hub or vibration sensor don’t show up in alexa even though the skill is linked. Any advice?
in homekit, theres only alerts for motion and not "no motion", however you can create a "no motion" alert after no motion for x amount of time alert in the aqara app in the automation tab. as far as alexa, according to aqaras website, the vibration sensor is not supported but for the hub, maybe try re-linking it?
@@AdamsTechLife first of all thanks for responding. Love your channel. Secondly when I go to homekit and choose the sensor it give me the options: Detects Motion and Stops detects motion but again when I go to the next step only the option to choose between my homepod and lights. Granted I just started adding a few items to homekit since Alexa is my main assistant. In the aqara app I only see the if than that function that gives me no options for a timer or a No motion detected choice in the menu. Thanks for clearing up the sensor issue with Alexa I will try to relink the hub to Alexa. Really appreciate you taking the time to respond
HELP!!! I tried the whole “making your dryer smart” thing with a vibration sensor but since it’s not running most of the time, it just keeps running the scene for my lights. So I’ll turn the scene off and it’ll turn back on within a minute or two. Any help would be appreciated!
I have the Aqara motion sensor on the inside of my mail slot. It has two shutters, one on the outside of the door and one on the inside. It gives a great warning on the app when the postman comes by and deposits our mail. I have a camera pointing at the door so I can even see what is on my doormat.
Thank you for the ideas especially with the clothes washer. I wanted to do something similar with my dishwasher but it’s cycle runs for 3 hours and 10 minutes. Any ideas on how to set that up? I noticed that the Aqara app only allows a delay up to 59 minutes. I tried to daisy chain 3 of them (aka loop) to get to 3 hours but that didn’t work.
I don't think Aqara now sells smart plugs, so can I use Aqara door sensor to trigger my Meross smart plug to turn on a light when the door is open...? can I do this in Home Kit app as automation or in Aqara app..? plz help
Did you have a go to NFC tags? Can they be used with not accepted iPhone Home devices? I think the app Automator does it, but I will wait for your video before I decide! :)
What's your favorite automation you use? Let me know down here! ⬇️ Mine is the Little Debbie Thief 🤣
Doing automations that depend if somethibg is on or off ar pretty usefull
Nice!
@@AdamsTechLife what do you think is the most usefull?
There’s a lot, this video shows a couple I’ve been using the past couple weeks

99 % of this solves problems that were not problems at all. I‘m having the same issue, though.
Thanks for watching! 😊

Glad these were helpful for you. I’m not sure about 3 ways switches, that’s a bit out of my wheel house.
Thank you

Maybe try adjusting the sensitivity? Thanks for watching! 😊
If you have the HomePod mini, do you still need an aqara hub for any of these devices to use them?
If you want to control your other HomeKit devices along with Aqara ones (say wireless mini controls non aqara lights then yes). Thanks for watching! 😊

I think for that long an NFC tag to set a timer would probably be best due to the limitations. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife thank you
Which app do you mean by "home app"?
To be able to set alarm when no motion detected by vibration sensor? Thx - great vid
The apple home app. Thanks for watching! 😊
I was searching for a vibration sensor so when my dryer is going it will trigger the exhaust fan switch. This might be the one
that's a great idea!
@@AdamsTechLife i ended up using a temp sensor i already had on the side of the dryer. Worked great
Can you use the Aqara vibration sensor on the washer instead of dryer to tell when wash is done?
Yes as long as your washer is a steady vibration. Mine stops and starts so I’d get slammed with alerts lol. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife thanks. Can it be set up if no movement for 1 min then do automation?
wow love these smart home ideas!

I have a coffee timer one I like. NFC Tags can work with Android if that's what you mean. Thanks for watching! 😊
@@AdamsTechLife I mean that I have and iPhone and I would like to connect it with Alexa and Home devices (that are not supported by Apple) with NFC :)
Unfortunately that won’t work :/ I wish!
