some notes about this video: - yes, davinci resolve is available natively on linux - yes, most linux distros can be ran on a usb stick, typically called a "live-ISO"
:) Thanks for this. G.I.M.P is basically free-Photoshop, but without the patented AI tools. Yes, the name is intentional. If Opensource can pick a name like that, they do.
I just wish GIMP was more user-friendly. I've used it dozens of times and each time I feel I need to re-learn how to use it, and half the time I just end up pixlr - an free online tool that has its own issues, particularly on firefox - unless I need to do something specific like editing gifs (for which there are other sites), curving text, or using a tool to mimic 3D depth.
@@RenderingUser That's what I use for gif editing most of the time. Well, at least when I need to combine gifs with videos or normal images with gifs in some fashion.
I don’t think it’s actually stop motion. I’m pretty sure, it’s normal live action recording, but he manipulates timing, and removes/extends frames in order to make it look that way.
This is fun! It’d be cool if you reacted to more James Lee. He mainly does shorter stuff but his animation/ special effects work is incredible, definitely a very influential artist from early newgrounds
31:15 Linux doesn’t take up much space and can easily fit on a USB in fact any OS can be installed on a usb. Linux can also be on a computer already running windows and it won’t override any window files but it can actually access windows files if you give it permission of course. So its an easy way to try it out and if you don’t want it then you can just delete it. DaVinci Resolve does appear to work on Linux (based on a quick search) though it seams it does require a discrete graphics card in order to run
I learned that you can run Linux off of a flash drive because I had to actually help a company recover their password on an old Windows 7 PC and hilariously Linux made it trivially easy.
@@JetBalrogonly if you grab a live boot image. Not all Linux distributions live boot. Just make sure to get the live boot version of the os image. All the popular Linux distros should have this tho
36:19 Hah. I think too many businesses have jumped the MS ship for that to ever happen now. Not to mention that both MS and OSX are both kind of a skin over UNIX. Outside of things like ARM, nearly every modern system comes from one university selling the OG system for $100, unlimited use; so much of computing is, "ok, you could reinvent the wheel, but it's be more expensive and that means that probably no-one will buy it.".
DaVinci Resolve works on Linux. Though, some video codecs aren't entirely supported, at least not on the free version. But you can easily convert between codecs, so it's more of a slight inconvenience, and you can tell OBS to output the video in the correct codec if you want. I think it was H264 (mp4) that doesn't work, but .mov works iirc.
Nice reactions! Commenting for the algo! While Davinci Resolve is on Linux, some people will have higher or a different mix of standards. Not to mention trying to bring over their already owned hardware in comparison to something else that might work better on Linux. Good luck on your Linux journey! Be patient, read the documentation, and ask for help! I'm still not 100% on Linux, but many can be surprised by how much they can get away with. ~90% for me.
Yeah... Coca-Cola... They brought down Wet Planet Inc, because they could not produce the special screws top cans fast enough... Thus Jolt went with them... Rip Jolt.
I'm starting to think i have a different kind of windows 11 because i don't have any of the problems he has, and i don't have the AI overview on google either...
Hey Airier,I was hoping you could pass on a recomendation to your wife for a game called Mouthwashing. It’s a horror game that’s really steeped in misery and dread. I don’t think you’d rnjoy it but from what I’ve heard about your partner, it seems right up her alley.

Do people even remember shockwave and napster anymore?
Same, and I'm in my late 20's.
ahh yes stop motion the most evil form of animation
Stop motion artists are built different.

RIP Tarboy, but at least we still have James Lee. Whearas Hania Lee just kinda... vanished.

MS (If you're referring to Microsoft) is NOT Unix. It's DOS. It couldn't be any further from Unix. Macos however is a direct descendent of Unix.
flash is the animation software, flash player is the plugin that we used to install on our browsers to play flash content, .swf was the file format.
