The Turano Bakery truck (at 5:10) is still on the road today. This was also the last era of automobiles. It would only be a few more years that SUV's and 'utes would take over, then about an decade later, the monster pick-ups would start dominating..
Whoa this video took me back. Soundtrack of the summer playing. Chicago and the world has changed so much its great to find moments of being in the moment nostalgia
Pretty much all the cars in the video (even ones that were BRAND NEW) are gone now or are considered antiques and according to the IL Secretary of State qualify for AV plates
That is an awesome video I have family living in Chicago Illinois they live just outside the city in Hampshire Illinois planning on moving there in 2029 got to do my research first though before moving to Chicago that's so cool to see the windy city back in the the 1990s
@@BigRobChicagoPL That's sweet of you! Thanks.. I'll definitely give you a 'shout out' for letting me use it. Is there any chance you could email me the file so I can edit it? henry@seance-centre.com
This video was taken on May 10, 1997. You can hear the DJ on the radio talk about the Cubs/Bulls/and White Sox games happening that day.
Wow that was literally the day before my HS graduation which makes this a Saturday ….. I’m more shocked the traffic isn’t backed up
On B96, still a preset in my car to this day.
That was before the Cubs won the World Series. They sucked then!

Brought back some memories for sure! The cars we drove back then look so old now! Plus all the cars from the 80’s still on the road.
Mark Morrison coming on the radio can't be more 1990's nostalgia
At 8:00, Return of the Mack 😎

Thank you for this video
Less traffic 😝
Hey, nice video! Is there any chance you would allow me to use it for a Chicago music video project I'm working on? Thanks, Henry
Sure! Please just include some form of reference to my channel at the end. Hope it works out!

OMG i miss those days
100% with you there
I honestly liked most city skylines in my birth year 1997, I honestly can't stand seeing all of the brand new hideous skyscrapers nowadays.
I'm a huge fan of 2nd Gen builds, as well as art deco. Definitely agree the new stuff is kind of an eyesore
Brian "Hit Mix" Middelton Yo
Can I use some of this footage for a small music video?
