He has a long way to go but yes I was happy to see the improvement. I was really deflated after my last visit in December. Hopefully this progress continues. 🥰
Yes, as the day went on I could see that he had made some progress, I am really excited to watch this little guy grow over the years. Thanks as always Mary 🥰
Thank you SO much, AT, for bringing us this update! Jarang still looks uncoordinated, but he’s sitting up, and looking at his mum. I love how Jingga holds him and kisses him. I am so pleased. I hope you can bring us future updates.💜🦧
He is stronger than my last visit, mother is still a little clumsy with him but from what I saw she was handling him better. Thanks so much for watching. 🥰
Wow❣️🤩 Look at our little man go❣️ He’s so alert, has a nice round belly, is sitting up by himself and looks like he’s ready to crawl. Mama seems to be quite enchanted by her little boy. ❤ I think that little by little, Jarang is teaching Jingga how to be a Mummy. ❤❤ I always had faith that they’d work it out together and I still do. He’s definitely a bit wobbly, but hopefully that will improve as his muscles get stronger. I wonder if he was born a little prematurely? That might explain why his development has been a bit slow. No doubts at all though that he’s well-loved. ❤ Thank you SO much Ape Tracker for this fantastic update. 👏👏🙏🙏😃
I wondered if he was premature, when the baby was born at Chester, two months later than Jarang they were about the same size. I really want to see him climbing, that will be a huge milestone that the chester baby has already crossed, we have a video coming out of it. Thanks as always for watching and supporting the channel. 🥰
Love this!! Thank you for the update!! It was nice to see mama and baby doing well. I still think Jarang has a disability of some sort. He's underdeveloped and struggles with controlling his movements. I think Jinga is doing the best she can under the circumstances and it was nice to see them thriving. Baby and mama seem happy. I am rooting for these 2! Loved the update... Thank you AT!
@NEWz206 I disagree with you. She might be inexperienced and it shows through some of her actions but Jarang is 8 months old. His stiff and awkward body movements is not because mama is inexperienced. It's very obvious that he's not developing normally... Blaming it all on the mother because she's inexperienced is ludicrous. Babies will continue to hit milestones even if the upbringing isn't ideal... Jarang is not hitting those milestones. He can't even sit up on his own...
❤❤❤❤❤ way to love that baby and the keepers as well ill of us fans you just keep doing it your unconventional ways you are getting it And Jenna you never have given up. So happy valentines day to you all. Ty ty for this beautiful share.
Thanks so much ZQ, it was really great to see some progress and it was also great to see mother keeping him close and helping him to sit up. She was behaving with a much greater sense of responsibility. 🥰
I think he’s way behind other baby orangutans. I like seeing all his limbs moving instead of tense and frozen in time. He’s trying to pull himself up on her which is really good (way younger in other babies, but just slow, I guess. She seems calmer and that gives him a chance to try out some moves :)
Thank you for this encouraging new post! I hope the next time you visit J&J that you will have an opportunity to film Jarang's rear limbs. In past clips I always noticed that when being carried on Jingga's foot, he could wrap his legs around her ankle but didn't seem to be able to flex his feet enough to cling to her as he did with his hands. Have wondered if he has some disability there and, if so, whether he will be able to recover from or compensate for it as he grows. In any event, it is a great relief to see him looking brighter and healthier. I know I speak for many J&J fans in expressing the hope you will keep us posted with new clips. Again, thank you for sharing your observations of these fascinating orangutans.
Thank you for the update. He does look a lil chubbier. That's great. He's falling backward and has the strength to pull himself up to sit. Im very impressed. When will he be one? He is behind on the milestones, but i think when he gets more mobile, he will make up the time. Im not going to give up on Jinga and Jarang. We dont like how things have been handled by the zoo, also the way Jinga carries him and her having no experience. (Im meaning no disrespect. I value everyones opinions and feelings, and by no means am i trying to tell ppl what to do. Or hurt anyone, or get them upset) I think maybe it's time for everyone to accept this is the way it is going to stay. A lot of us have reached out to the zoo, and other people we know of that could have helped, and they were not permitted to get involved. Which makes me have all different sorts of feelings about it. But what can I do now? Im going to stay positive and put my energy into watching all the videos and other videos i can find of them and hope that once he figures out how to sit up all the way, then next thing should be crawling and walking. Then he can get bigger and stronger. Thank you so much for visiting them and updating us. Your the best and im so grateful you visited. Thank you again!
Yes, I agree I have been watching Chester Zoo's baby Orangutan and Jarang is behind in development although like humans all animals develop at a different rate and the mother Sarikei at Chester Zoo is very experienced at raising babies. I will say that during my visit there was a Zoo Keeper attending to them all day with food, cleaning and communicating with mother. Thanks for watching and for the great comment. 🥰
I'm glad you said something about Sarikei lil baby. I was thinking he was behind but I could not remember when he was born. So I chalked it up to being recently born. When was Jarang born again? At Chester Sarikei lil boy date of birth? I wonder when the will name him. Do the keepers know why he might be behind? Thank you again.
I fully agree with you. It was mind-boggling how the zoo refused any outside help or kept the worrying public informed. Jingga is not the only mother to carry her baby weirdly. From the experts I talked with at the time, it was because Jarrang would not grip his mother properly. At no time was he in danger of being transported by foot. It is unconventional and looks terrifying at first and even second glance. All of his fans hope you are right about one day just surprising all of us and blowing past his missed milestones. They are both adorable and we all just want them to live their best life. Even with all the problems it is clear that they are.
Jarang was born 14th June 2023 Sarikei has a baby girl born 31st August 2023 There is no news on a name for her yet but will post it on the Ape Tracker community page when it is confirmed
I haven't spoken to keepers recently about his progress but if I am thinking for what it is worth that it is due to his mother not teaching him the early skills and not pushing him to explore by climbing. I also think that he may have possibly been born prematurely. I cannot confirm this though. 🥰
Thanks so much, I am glad that there has been some positivity around these two, they still have some way to go but I think good progress has been made these last couple of months. 🥰
I had faith in Jingga all along. She's creative and original. You can see she adores Jarang with all her heart. I've seen other videos of young orangutan babies riding on feet too. For all we know she may have ridden on her own mother's foot, or saw someone else doing it.
I agree, I think she does know that Jarang is her responsibility and is trying to what is best for him. Hopefully over the coming weeks she will try and teach him some important skills. 🥰
It is womdersul seeing this little guy all chubby and bright eyed. He looks so much better. It is becoming cleaery there is a serious developmental issue. I'm not sure those people were critical but just concerned for this baby. It's wonderful to see him doing better but he's definitely way behind on his development.
I haven't seen anyone critisizing Jingga, but the zoo, for not intervening, offering help to Jingga to act in a better way, or informing publicly what is their view of the situation. Mom is inexperienced and it is not her fault by any means, and people understand it very well.
@@missnarni A few months ago there were a lot of negative comments toward Jingga. I got a lot of less-than-pleasant replies for defending her and saying there was something wrong with Jarrang. It was evident after his first few days there were developmental issues. He is now six or seven months old and moving like a one-week-old. Even then, there are signs that something is not right.
Wow! He is a lot better!! So alert. So wonderful to see. Maybe he will catch up to his milestones! Regardless, he is improving. I wonder if the zoo shows, or showed her videos of mothers with their babies - how they lift them by their arms and develop their legs. She really loves him and that is great. Thank you for recording and showering us these precious beings. 💗
I'm so glad to see them again. Jarang does look better, seems like he had the strength in his torso to pull himself up a couple of times when he laid back. He keeps his little fists clenched so tightly, I notice he's been doing that for a long time. He's a cute little guy. I bet he will catch up with his peers at some point, you are right that babies of all kinds develop at a different rate of speed. Popo was starting to climb a little bit around this age, I wonder when Jarang will get to that point. It seems like once they start to climb the development tends to take off at that point.
Oh my gosh! I'm so glad to see Jarang moving kinda normal. Looking around. Still should be more developed by now but didn't get the tlc and proper mother bonding needed for that. I'm so happy he's alive. I finally saw him feeding from mom and getting some love! ❤😢😊❤thank goodness! Phew! 😅😅
He is very, very small for his 8 month. There is more action, but she don't cuddle him and give him warmth from her body. She is very disabled as mother, but ist is better than no mother, like in Indonesia with the palmplantations. I hope that Jarang grew up to a healthy orangutan. From when is the movie. 4 days ago on you tube, but this movie can be from last summer. I always read on the website from the zoo, there is no visitors allowed for Jinga and her offspring to give them rest. I am looking forward to see an update movie on the website from the zoo.
Jingga's jerky movements and claw-like grasping could be, in humans, symptoms of Cerebral Palsy and/or developmental delay. He seems feisty and determined which bodes well for him as he develops. He's adorable and well-loved by Mom, and I'm sure the zoo vets are on any issues with his development.
Love this update! This video reminds me of a child playing eith a doll. Jinga's merhods are unusual for sn orangutan, but the " tummy time" is definitely mimicking human behavior. Glad to see the baby is doing better!!!
So thrilled to see the little one moving around and seems to be aware of what’s going on around him. He’s getting stronger. Mom is interacting with him better. Maybe and hopefully he’ll be fine just slower in his development.
So nice to see these two again! They both look good, and momma is trying really hard to get this mother thing down. I give her credit for being a loving mother, it could be worse. Baby could have had to be raised by care takers? Not bad mouthing care takers, but they need each other.
It is not that easy for us to get down to London but we will make it happen. It would be wonderful to see the new baby gorilla. Thanks so much for watching. 👍
I am so glad you updated us. I am so, very thankful for that! I still think there might be a medical issue with Jarang. This could cause him to be delayed by his age group for orangutans. It could also explain why the zoo hasn't stepped in to teach Jingga to be a mother, as she may be doing her best if something is medically wrong with Jarang. Orangutans can get the same mental and physical illnesses, conditions, and deformities as humans. We will know for sure whether it's just inexperienced mothering from Jingga or whether Jarang has something medically wrong with him in a few more months.
But why wouldn’t the zoo say something. There’s something wrong with the baby but we pretend everything is fine…seems so Victorian…I don’t think I believe that
Ten sposob noszenia wybrała bo mniej marudzil.
Hi strength and muscle coordination are nowhere near where they should be because mama had nobody to show her what to do. Only by the grace of God is this little guy even still alive!
U człowieka to najczęstsza z wad rozwojowych i czasem sama mija. Moze jednak powodować ból podczas napinania mięśni i jak siedział na stopie mamy to widocznie mniej marudził. Mnie martwi opóźnienie w rozwoju. Nie należy jednak winić matki, pracowników ZOO ani opiekuna. Poprostu ślepy los, okoliczności ciążowe i porodowe, mutacje genowe. W naturze nie miałby szansy a Zoo pomoże mu żyć.
Wish they would say if they are bringing in human occupational and physiotherapists to improve the play area to make it easier for Jarang to develop and get around. Feel sad when he is left flat on his back. He needs a safe place to sit and see the world that is safe and orangutans proof.
@@ApeTracker1Yes, I have been thinking about Mother🌷🐒 Jingga and baby😊🍼🐒 Jarang for a while. I'm so happy to see them.☺️🖐🏼 Thank you ApeTracker for your time to help us stay informed. 🖐🏼❤️😊 2-11-24
@ApeTracker1 Thank you for this video. Jarang is so beautiful and Jinnga seems to be doing the best she can as she was an orphan and had no mother to learn from. Jarang is stronger but does look delayed developmentally as compared to other babies his age. I do believe in the power of prayer and have prayed daily for Jingga and Jarang. I know many are praying as well. When my son was a baby, he could not roll over or crawl. I was concerned but he skipped those milestones and eventually sat up and later stood. Every baby is different, whether human or animal. I am rooting for these two and look forward to more encouraging videos. Thank you again.
Intelektualnym i fizycznym.
Is this the baby ppl were all writing about, being concerned, because mom was an orphan and had no motherly skills? Baby was believed by commenter's that he was slow or underdeveloped? She was dragging him on her foot all the time.
For whatever reason she doesn’t feel comfortable with maternity at all. I think the only reason the little guy is still hanging on is because he manages to nurse while she’s asleep. I ❤ this orangutan baby.
She doesn’t look like she knows how to mother. The baby is obviously wanting to suckle, but I don’t think the mom knows how to nurse her baby. This little one would probably be better off being cared for by the carers until he’s well and strong enough to rejoin the troop. This is sad.
I did not see these gorillas before today, to me it seems that the baby is a bit underweight, he/she is hungry. Now I am not sure when it becomes okay to just lay down the baby in the hay, crying while mom goes off to get food for herself. I wonder where is the zoo while it seems baby is not getting enough food. 😥
Glad the baby is doing better. You can tell she loves her baby.
He does seem to be doing better, mother does still carry him around in an odd way but she seems a little less clumsy with him. 🥰
Am very happy to see these two again! It'll be very interesting watching Jarang's development. They are both so precious. ❤
It was great to see them both doing a little better and making some progress. 🥰
I do see some improvement in the interaction, which makes me happy in a way. You can tell he wants to be held. So entirely vulnerable and adorable. ❤❤

Phew! 😅😅
He’s alert and trying to be mobile. Maybe it will just take time and him watching others.
I think it will take him some time yet, he has made progress though and has certainly put weight on. 🥰
Thank you for this update. I've been worried about Jarang because we hadn't seen him since January 7th.
Little Love! So precious 😍😍😍
It looks like everything is coming along quite nicely. As a new mom, she just needed time to warm up to the task.
He is adorable!
I love this video. Thank you so much x
Glad you enjoyed it! 🥰
She absolutely loves her baby so nice to see keep the love going momma
Thank you for the update! ❤
You are so welcome, thanks so much for watching. 🥰
Great update video ❤
Poor little fellow. He wants so badly too cling and climp onto mom.
I’m rooting for baby Jarang and mama. You got this!❤️

Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed. 🥰
He is the sweetest little honey!
I enjoyed seeing this video. I feel good about this precious mother and baby. Everything looks so good 😍😍
Such sweet monkeys! These monkeys are love bugs ❤❤❤❤
So nice to see these two again! They both look good, and momma is trying really hard to get this mother thing down. I give her credit for being a loving mother, it could be worse. Baby could have had to be raised by care takers? Not bad mouthing care takers, but they need each other.
Beautiful 🧡
Will you ever film the gorillas at London and their new babies?
It is not that easy for us to get down to London but we will make it happen. It would be wonderful to see the new baby gorilla. Thanks so much for watching. 👍
@ApeTracker1 That's understandable, thanks a lot for creating these amazing videos!
Thanks for watching and commenting. 🥰
Very weak baby, compared with the others.
That is so precious it looks like the mother's starting to get a hang of it she starting to be a good little mother for the first time praise the Lord
Is the staff observing to make sure she is feeding him enough ???
How old is the baby?
THE PRAYERS AND THE LORD GOD ARE WORKING!!!!!¡✝️
How old is he now?
Baby Jarang was born in Jun 2023 so just about 8 months old. 👍
@@ApeTracker1Yes, I have been thinking about Mother🌷🐒 Jingga and baby😊🍼🐒 Jarang for a while. I'm so happy to see them.☺️🖐🏼
Thank you ApeTracker for your time to help us stay informed. 🖐🏼❤️😊

Yes, the mother is really young and inexperienced. She does carry him on her foot a lot. Thanks so much for watching. 🥰
Poor baby
Thanks for watching. 👍
For whatever reason she doesn’t feel comfortable with maternity at all. I think the only reason the little guy is still hanging on is because he manages to nurse while she’s asleep. I ❤ this orangutan baby.
Thanks for watching, hopefully he will make good progress this year.
Worth the wait? Really? Jarang still looks malnourished and underdeveloped for his age.
Thanks so much for watching. 🥰
She doesn’t look like she knows how to mother. The baby is obviously wanting to suckle, but I don’t think the mom knows how to nurse her baby. This little one would probably be better off being cared for by the carers until he’s well and strong enough to rejoin the troop. This is sad.
Are you guys still with that ridiculous notion?
So hard to watch. He can’t get as close to her as he wants to be and then, he can’t get away be cause she won’t let go of his leg :(
sad to watch
I did not see these gorillas before today, to me it seems that the baby is a bit underweight, he/she is hungry. Now I am not sure when it becomes okay to just lay down the baby in the hay, crying while mom goes off to get food for herself. I wonder where is the zoo while it seems baby is not getting enough food. 😥
Is he over-vaccinated by any chance?
the keepers act like they aren't seeing abuse, WTH ?
I wonder if he’s feeding from her enough
That baby is deform
I am hoping he is not, he is a lot more active than on my last visit. 🥰
That mother is not experienced. Poor baby needs better care yikes😔
Can she breast-feed him? I’m not sure if she was at her mother. This is my first time watching.
