OMG, thanks! :) I already played two livestream shows this weekend and i doscovered just after them that OBS was catching TK S4 MK3 with all his sound (also track preparations thru CUE etc.), which is very, very shame situation for DJ. (I'm usually using external sound card from my friend, but he was playing some gigs). Last hours i was searching for solution (i got "ASIO driver and signal can be used only by one program" and another basic informations which explans problem but not gives a solution) and now i finally found your video with very simple guide. Uff. Now i stand in front of decision to sacrifice channel D (which i'm usually using in 3 decks for tracks + 1 deck for TK F1 with step sequencer) or buying external sound card.
omg thank you so much for this video. the cue channel broadcasting issue was driving me nuts. i literally spent almost two days trying to figure it out and this video solved the issue in seconds
Nearly gave up trying to solve it and bought that cable... I finally solved it. this is how i did it. Traktor Audio settings are. audio device - Traktor s3. built in soundcard, realtek hi def audio. now how i hooked mine up. usb cable mixer to PC... i used a phono to 3.5mm jack. that goes from master out to line in, then i have an optical cable from PC to amp (speakers). then in windows sound settings i use as output : realtek optical output, and dont think its needed to select line in for input but what you need to do though is, go to input properties on line in and tick listen to this device and output being realtek optical output. now in streamlabs obs or obs u make a sound channel of realtek digital output. i also had line input on there to but you can just mute it if its there. and boom no more cue is heard playing over the stream. EDIT AFTER PLAYING WITH IT FOR A BIT THERES CONSIDERABLE DELAY FIGURING OUT THAT NEXT STEP AND WILL UPDATE WHEN SOLVED
Also I’ve just got a “Traktor” flight case it’s all logo’ed up and comes with laptop slide shelf. It’s boss from GAP. It’s advertised as the S4 flight case but if you read the specs it’s says compatible with S3 and it’s amazing. Love it. £150
Or use Jack Audio to route the correct channels of the mixer (2 channels will be master, for example on a Z2 it's 7 and 8) to OBS. This is fairly easy to achieve and no extra cabling is required. It's also totally independent of the master or booth levels as it picks the audio output from the mixer soundcard directly, like Traktor Pro does.
Hi, great video! But what about livestream if i have external speakers? I connect master output directly to my speakers, and how can i set up all for a live streaming (or a simply video recording with native audio). Thanks
In this case I would not use the master output I would use the booth output and feed it back into line in. Then use your master to th speakers as normal.
I have a numark mixtrack quad but i still run into this problem where my headphones get streamed too... i have everything setup correctly my master speakers are out 1-2 and my headphones 3-4 but when i choose mixtrack quad as sound capture it takes all the channels from 1 to 4. Anyone know how to limit the channels or something?
Holy crap dude, I spent a full week of researching how to fix that issue where the sound of your cue-play comes through the stream on OBS. I look everywhere, but how can this solution be so simple, yet nowhere mentioned?? You are a true legend. How did you find this out? Also, when I use the booth to reroute the audio in, can I still use the master out to connect to my speakers? Also, how are you playing a set without masters out? You can't hear whats going to the stream now right? What if you accidentally leave a filter or anything, you wouldn't know. THANKS
Good tutorial. One thing I’m curious of is why you loop the booth back into D. I know there’s loads of ways to do this and nothing is wrong but I’m wondering why you choose to do it that way :-)
It's the only way I had possible at thr time. The line in and also switching to shared mode allows a secondary software to "see" the incoming audio. You have to do this in order to live stream.
@@GrahamThorne But wait that is to Aux 3.5mm, should you have it go to RCA to connect to line in from booth? Like this one: www.kabelshop.nl/Procab-Tulp-naar-2x-jack-6-35-mm-kabel-Procab-1-5-meter-Mono-CAB631-1-5-PB07200-i4786-t144.html
I’ve had a nightmare today with my set up. If I do a live mix on my pioneer decks I normally go out of my DJM800 mixers Booth into a RODE adapter then straight into my iPad which it filming me on my decks and picking up nice audio from the booth out ... so today I set up my new Traktor S3 and thought I could do the same. But nope. Even though I have a decent sound signal coming out of booth. The minute I try to capture that sound using the RODE iOS adapter for sound. It doesn’t work. I then fed my S3 into my DJM800 mixer and then my DJM800 mixer is not the RODE adapter and into the iPad to film the mix. And all worked. So. It looks like your video explains why it wouldn’t work for me today. I can’t understand if I plug my S3 booth into speakers there is sound. But if I plug my S3 booth into my laptop or IPads mic input there is NO sound. It’s had me up the wall all day. :( so you are going from booth into line. How does deck D then transmit that sound to OBS. Like I done get how you are getting the sound over to OBS.
" How does deck D then transmit that sound to OBS" in short because deck D is 'listening' to an input your machine see's an input and is also listening. So OBS can listen also.
Thank you alot! I've been fighting with this issue a looong time. Just one question.. Is there any way to connect also the speakers/monitors throu main output? Im not sure if I can play without them :/
There is something weird going on with my Traktor / OBS setup. I own the Traktor S4MK3 and I've selected "Traktor Kontrol S3 MK3 (WASAPI (Shared Mode)) in the audio setup of Traktor Pro. When i go to OBS and select to add "Audio Input Capture", it shows "Microphone (Traktor Kontrol S3 MK3)", instead of "Line (Traktor Kontrol S4MK3). However, OBS still receives signal from the controller. Why does it recognize the controller as a mic?

Graham Thorne Actually I’m using normal controller ASIO instead of shared mode. And audio sounds just fine. I’m using S4 MK3 btw, I connect Booth to my Line D, and selected Line D in OBS.

ok i have same issue … doing it this way i can t use mic .. didd you find a solution .. i might take the master out of my S3 plug it in an usb external and route it back into computer??? will see
Yes. The solution was to set it up via sound flower software so it like runs in the background and feeds your other platforms. There is a guy on here I think his name is digital Dave.
