Unlike Catherine, I was bursting with energy with every pregnancy, never tired or sleepy, and have never had a bout of morning sickness in my life!! I think I'm part rabbit! HRH Prince of Wales William, please wear a helmet when riding your scooter. A few Kiwi's have died from not wearing a helmet when on their scooter - all it takes it some uneven ground, a piece of debris etc to cause a nasty tumble. I'm with HRH Princess of Wales Catherine on this one.
I am sure all the mother who hear this story will be sympathetic toward Catherine. We all face growing pains as our children get older and want to try new things.
Catherine is such a lovely mama bear but she has to let go. Mother of three boys and two tomboys, l have been there and it is scary at the time but my five all survived all the sports and bikes. Skis and skates and through all the years apart from some bruises and bloody noses, they got away with one sister breaking her thumb playing volleyball. Catherine you are a stupendous mum and they will all survive❤️❤️🌹🌹💕💕💕
I also agree with Princess Catherine. They're also not safe because the lithium batteries can cause terrible fires. They're also not very environmentally friendly as was recently reported. They use electricity when a simple bike uses none, we don't have a proper way to dispose of lithium batteries, the same as we don't solar panels, and it's questionable whether lithium is being mined ethically. All good reasons to stay away in my opinion!
Do you have electric bicycles there? We do here in the US. One can ride the bike either way, there's a switch. They are not common tho, but every now and then someone will go past with the electric on, also a helmet.. But on a bike trail no electric motors are permitted, so the bike will stay near the curb of a road.
@@lonerose99 I'm in Australia, I'm sure they're here but I don't think they're very common. Electric scooters are and they're causing all sorts of problems, fires and accidents. One thing I would say is if driven carefully I can see merit in them for those with mobility problems, but that's about it 😅

We all know that "forbidding" rarely works well for a parent. Hopefully Princess Catherine will agree on parameters (with all safety concerns specified) and enjoy their e-scooter adventures, rather than worry.
It's great to have two awesome parents, Prince George is very lucky! One parent will often times be more cautious, while the other provides support for a freedom. Arthur Ashe was fantastic - and I can't believe that it was 49 years-ago that he won Wimbledon! I'm a dad myself and I always preferred that my kids could learn new things while being supervised by family members. Those family members that were old enough to know the risks involved and watching out for the kids NOT getting harmed. I always assumed that negating such wishes would lead to be done behind my back, without familial supervision and at higher risks. You simply don't want that. In order to learn you need to fail sometimes. That is part of life. But if it is happening while being supervised, the fallout could be reduced significantly. On the other hand there is no 100% in life. Accidents will happen. We just pray and hope that those accidents will NOT be of the life threatening type.

My husband is in his 60s and still skateboards. 😂His best friend does too - he even rides long boards down very hilly & winding roads, going way over the speed limit. One day, a car went by and someone yelled out to him, “Get a job and a car!!!” And this is a man with 4 Master’s degrees and is a genius, who has very nice cars, and a job. 😂😂😂

Catherine has had bigger fish to fry with William's "man/toys" as he used to come roaring up to The Middleton's house on a very large, speedy MOTORCYCLE! I think she put her sparkly shiny, silver stilettos down hard on that one!! Then once William landed a helicopter there to see Catherine and got into trouble with the BRF, the Palace, AND the government!! (Probably Catherine too). I wholeheartedly agree with every word of your bodacious comment AND......#IStandWithCatherine....in more ways than one!! He always got ganged up on and backed down but the urge never left him. All my boys (5) are married now and their wives won't let them have them either. I do like my DILs!

HRH Prince of Wales William, please wear a helmet when riding your scooter. A few Kiwi's have died from not wearing a helmet when on their scooter - all it takes it some uneven ground, a piece of debris etc to cause a nasty tumble. I'm with HRH Princess of Wales Catherine on this one.

Catherine is such a lovely mama bear but she has to let go. Mother of three boys and two tomboys, l have been there and it is scary at the time but my five all survived all the sports and bikes. Skis and skates and through all the years apart from some bruises and bloody noses, they got away with one sister breaking her thumb playing volleyball. Catherine you are a stupendous mum and they will all survive❤️❤️🌹🌹💕💕💕

They're also not safe because the lithium batteries can cause terrible fires.
They're also not very environmentally friendly as was recently reported. They use electricity when a simple bike uses none, we don't have a proper way to dispose of lithium batteries, the same as we don't solar panels, and it's questionable whether lithium is being mined ethically.
All good reasons to stay away in my opinion!
Do you have electric bicycles there? We do here in the US. One can ride the bike either way, there's a switch. They are not common tho, but every now and then someone will go past with the electric on, also a helmet.. But on a bike trail no electric motors are permitted, so the bike will stay near the curb of a road.

Electric scooters are and they're causing all sorts of problems, fires and accidents.
One thing I would say is if driven carefully I can see merit in them for those with mobility problems, but that's about it 😅

Catherine is right to worry. It's not the falling off part. The batteries are very unstable and dangerous and have caused many injuries. If I were her, I'd hide it, and if he gets another one, hide that one too, lol

It's great to have two awesome parents, Prince George is very lucky! One parent will often times be more cautious, while the other provides support for a freedom. Concerns/cautions will swap between parents for many things over their lifetime, it's actually quite glorious! What a great family discussion and adventure!

Arthur Ashe was fantastic - and I can't believe that it was 49 years-ago that he won Wimbledon! I feel so badly for Princess Catherine, and pray the day is coming soon when this will all be just a memory. It's so sweet that George wants to look/dress just his father. I think George and William should wear helmets as well as knee and elbow pads!

There have been numerous serious accidents on power scooters, including broken backs, etc. I side with maternal instincts every time.

Thank you Neil for bringing up Arthur Ashe who was a great advocate for knowledge and sports (particularly tennis and won many grand slam titles). He was known for his “on-court grace and low-key demeanor“. Remembered watching his tennis tournaments on TV and a soft spoken man full of respect and a charming personality. Sadly missed. 🥰👏

Those who attack Catherine do so because they are jealous of her. Catherine is beautiful inside and out. She is kind and thinks of others. I feel sorry for those who must have a go at her because they are aware of their short comings in life. She should let him do it under supervision with a helmet & knee pads. Otherwise he is going to do it behind her back without all of the safety equipment & supervision. Kids will be kids.
I'm a dad myself and I always preferred that my kids could learn new things while being supervised by family members. Those family members that were old enough to know the risks involved and watching out for the kids NOT getting harmed.
I always assumed that negating such wishes would lead to be done behind my back, without familial supervision and at higher risks. You simply don't want that.
In order to learn you need to fail sometimes. That is part of life. But if it is happening while being supervised, the fallout could be reduced significantly.
On the other hand there is no 100% in life. Accidents will happen. We just pray and hope that those accidents will NOT be of the life threatening type.

My husband is in his 60s and still skateboards. 😂His best friend does too - he even rides long boards down very hilly & winding roads, going way over the speed limit. One day, a car went by and someone yelled out to him, “Get a job and a car!!!” And this is a man with 4 Master’s degrees and is a genius, who has very nice cars, and a job. 😂😂😂
