By paying attention it should be noted that the rest of the Royals also write letters of thank you, sympathy, etc. to others, including their patronages and charities. Letters of any sort are a lost art here in the USA and that's rather sad. E-mails and text messages just aren't the same and I don't think have the same meaning. A person sitting down and taking the time to actually write a meaningful letter will frequently find the letter becomes a treasured family item. It will also become a part of the family's history.

I think it's lovely when someone takes the time to compose and write a card or a letter. It means that the recipient of the letter is considered to be worth the effort. Digital is lazy - very little thought or effort is required. I say "Well done" King Charles and Mr Trump for being gentlemen.

I just love how much President Trump adored and loved our gracious Queen….one can see in the footage how much he was I awe of her presence and when he talks about her it’s genuine admiration he had for her….i am pleased that our king has reached out to President Trump…what happened to him was truly awful and in times like this one needs all the support and affection possible…especially as there are so many nasty people out there wishing that the outcome had been different

There's nothing finer and more personal than a crafted handwritten letter. I think that's absolutely wonderful of King Charles and shows his very thoughtful side. There aren't many women who impress Mr Trump if we're honest, but Queen Elizabeth II, was a whole other story as far as Mr Trump was concerned, he respected her, her work and her family!

I think it's lovely when someone takes the time to compose and write a card or a letter. It means that the recipient of the letter is considered to be worth the effort. Digital is lazy - very little thought or effort is required. I say "Well done" King Charles and Mr Trump for being gentlemen.

Wonderful! So lovely to receive a letter, especially one at an important time. That one will be kept in a safe place for generations. The old ways are gracious ways. Anyone can pop off an email that can have an immediate effect but composing a letter requires more thought and sends deeper sentiments than just the words.
It's great to get a written letter. It's special and you can read it again.
It’s not just that Charles knew from meeting the President that he truely did think his mother was a wonderful brave lady and had a true affection for her. Charles would also knew his ‘ mum’ liked the President too , if she’d been here 😢 ,she would have DEFINITELY written to him personally.Charles was honouring her wishes.
