  • Hello and welcome to back Cities Skylines 2!
We're still burning through money like there's no tomorrow, though since we last saw each other I have been pottering about putting in some farmland and woodland which will hopefully take the edge off our tile maintenance... at least the tiles aren't sitting empty now!
We're going to be seeing whether some cargo trains will actually help the situation, moving cargo from the new farmland right the way over to the industrial zone which is where the produce needs to be... It might work right?

other than just producing things, building new villages and towns would probably help make your tiles productive as well

You need freight train connections outside of the map I think to export more goods, especially at the airport

I feel like I have to explain some things to you.
The reason for you not having any demand for any district is the high taxation. People in this game really hate anything that goes above 10%, they won't start moving out at 12% but there's nobody who wants to build in that economy. Lower your taxation down to 10% and the demand will come back.
Do not ever cut back budget on anything except water and power. It doesn't work in this game like it used to in C:S1, in this game you "degrade" the service making it less efficient overall - and citizens complaining as a result. Instead of lowering the budget, try turning off individual buildings instead and add things like vehicle garages to the ones you're keeping. The biggest problem of services is not their availability but their vehicle limitation.
While we're on the point of services, don't forget that you put down and upgraded like 15 crematoriums after the bug with the sudden deaths appeared. Shutting down or bulldozing some of them could cut your spending by a few million. But still make sure you spread them evenly over your city - more dense areas could still require two individual buildings.
You've complained many times about not being able to shorten segments of roads. Actually you can. There's two ways of doing it, depending on the situation. Best thing to do is to take the pedestrian path tool (with snapping on) and drag it from one side of the road to the other. This won't create a pedestrian crossing but it will split the segment into two. The other method is to use a road in a similar manner. Just cut across where you want the segment to split, upgrade the individual segments to what you want it to be and then bulldoze the road. You have to do it in this order because if you get rid of the road before changing a segment, it will sometimes delete the split point too.
To stop cars from U-turning on the road and making a wide turn from a property onto it, use divided roads. They make for a better overall flow because of this. Also, try to use seperate parallel one-way roads on things like huge parking lot entrances. It's a big hassle, though, might be better to just use divided roads.
That's all from me for now, if you want more tips and tricks, make sure to let me know. That way I know writing this wasn't a huge waste of time.

The trains look like class 99s which are said to replace the 66s next year

I would get the endless demand mod so you an continute to build the city and more towns on the tiles to try to lower the cost of the tiles that have nothing on it

Also bring back Stepford County Railway; they made the Airlink SC platforms 15mph just for you because you complained about it being 30mph. Also, 2.0 is out now!
