I’m a teacher in CA, they shut schools down through April 7.... I can’t even express how anxious and stressed I feel. Trying to figure out how to provide instruction to kiddos virtually with no time to prep and limited access to school... I was so relieved when my mom found a Costco sized Charmin toilet paper last week. I’d would have rather had Kirkland but they are out daily within minutes!!!
Ours shut down in Buffalo, NY until April 20th
I‘m a teacher in Germany and they shut down schools all over the country starting today through April 19. I also have two young children and my husband drives a truck to deliver packaging materials to bakeries, pharmacies etc. so he will have to be out there even if it gets as bad as China or Italy.

Hi Gia,it's been a rough one here. Both me and my girls had the stomach bug last weekend and early part of last week, then I started getting an upper respiratory illness late Wednesday and into Thursday. By Friday morning my hubby insisted I go to urgent care. I was tested for the flu which was negative. Then they wanted to test me for the coronavirus due to symptoms. Even though they think it is unlikely by the rules they were given I needed to be tested. They said I would have the results in two to five days and to self-quarantine until then.
They have yet to call with the results and I am still having to stay at least three feet from my family. Bless my hubby though, I have obviously not able to take care of my girls, cook, or shop and he has stepped up and done all the shopping, cooking and all. The kids school is closed for two weeks so hopefully my test will be negative and I can recuperate from what ever this is and take care of my family.

I got the call today, the test was negative!
I still have to stay away from the public until I recover, since my lungs are so comprised from a brutal case of bronchitis. They said if I went out while recovering and I did catch the virus or something else it would be devastating to my system right now.
I am very slowly getting better, but still very weak. Even gathering a load of laundry leaves me out of breath.

Ok so this whole water thing: BUY A WATER FILTER. 😂 I’m really trying to practice social distancing. I’m a follower of Christ as well and do believe we are covered by the blood of Jesus. I also believe God gave us common sense. If you can stay home, stay home. Whenever I have had to make a store run though I’ve called my parents to see if they need anything bc they are also in the group that needs to stay away from the public. Praying this is over soon 🙏🏼

I have always had a water filter from HSN thank goodness never wanted to spend money on water.
I used to buy water bottles and though I recycled them, I realized how much plastic we were unnecessarily using so I changed over to a filter. I never run out of safe drinking water this way and don’t have to carry those heavy packages into the car/house lol.

Wow. Your Costco has so much food! Lines wrap around the building starting at 6am. People running their carts around like they're on a game show! Not much food in our AZ grocery stores. It's getting so scary.

I'm Irish it's so weird seeing this product in America. that's 4 bars of butter weighing 2lbs or 907grams here for 12 dollars. here where it's made. you get 980 grams for 5.50 so just under 4 bars for around 22 euros.

I live in South Carolina and on Sunday they closed all schools for the next two weeks. Limited gathering to 100 people or less which I think on Monday changed to 50 people or less. So it is real here girl. I went on Friday I took inventory of my pantry, fridge, and deep freezer. Then I decided I would just got to our local BJs wholesale club and get everything that I needed for regular groceries and my emergency preparness. I posted my haul over on my youtube channel as well. But I went back on Friday afternoon to get my daughter's birthday cake and let me tell you, there was not toliet paper, very limited paper towles, baby wipes were almost gone, no bread at all, no snack chips. It was pure craziness. I was so glad that I went and got what we needed for two weeks. With me being a nurse I know I am at higher risk of being exposed and I truly wanted to have my family ready incase I need to quarintine or all of us quarintine. Yall stay safe!

Over here our costco stores only seem to stock basic productsl, nothing special AT ALL. My eyes are popping and my mouth is watering looking at the wonderful things you have there. They shut all Pennsylvania schools down for 2 weeks. They also are not allowing restaurants to have people sit down for food . Carry out or delivery only.

Or hand wash, sanitizer, rice, pasta, eggs etc
If you have an old flannel sheet, cut into squares to use then throw them into a pail of soapy water (Like we did the cloth diapers). At the end of the day run them through a rinse cycle first then a full cycle with soap & bleach, dry and start over again the next day.

Jia, canned veggies are canned at their peak of freshness and with all the nutrients, so if you need nonperishable veggies frozen and canned are just fine. Canned veggies have more sodium, but other than that, they are more than fine on this type of situation. Don’t feel bad. And don’t let people make you feel bad for stocking up, none of us knows what the supply chain will do. Nobody knows how many families you are buying for.

Hello from Athens, Greece. We are currently under quarantine. I suggest not only your parents who are elderly but you as well do not interact with other people outside of your immediate home. You are aware that you can be a carrier up to 15 days without having any symptoms. Thus you can transmit this to your parents. All those people you come in contact with at various supermarkets or shopping trips could all be carriers. My family and I try to keep our distance from one another in my own home just in case on of us is infected and has not shown symptoms yet. This is not the time to be frugal, this is the time to stock up and stay home. This covid-19 is serious business and will not go away in two weeks , it may take up to three months once quarantined for things to die down. Stay safe.

They're paying overtime to truck drivers and suppliers are paying their employees to work 14 to 16 hours 7 days a week. They're hitting double time and maybe triple time. The $5 increase isnt that surprising, if it doesn't go down after this, they're gouging at that point.

Seeing your Costco prices on a pre-virus day makes me realize how expensive my area is. Those mushrooms were over $5 here. Now with the virus prices, it is soooo expensive.
I’m in MN and I work at an elementary school. Our teachers were told to prepare at least 8 weeks of work for the students. I did a big grocery shopping last weekend and stocked up on about 2 weeks worth of groceries. Toilet paper here was $22.99. It’s all about supply and demand.

Our Costco here in Cleveland Ohio has been out of most of the items for last 2.5 weeks. This includes rice, meat, butter, eggs, milk and butter. I am glad u still have so much stuff remaining.

Kerrygold is an irish butter... (im from the north of Ireland) all our butters went up hugely in price over the last few months due to a number of factors, with the added demand everywhere I expect that is the reason for the rise.

Paper towels sold out at my Costco within 30 minutes. Toilet paper I have not seen there yet in stock.
All of it was a limit of 1 so your Costco was generous.

Milk limit of 2 (and prices did go up. The whole milk use to be 2.29 but it is now 2.69). They marked up prices before the frenzy so I don’t think they will go down in price at all unfortunately.

I am not sure why there was this toilet roll frenzy, but my local Supermarket in January were doing a special offer, so I bought 2 packs of 16 and 2 pack of 9. I also did a big food shop, at the beginning of March everyone was buying toilet roll like it was food, I stocked up on freezer stuff, fruits and dried food. And when it got really bad here in London, Only needed rice, 2 packs of pasta,scotch bonnet, apples. ketcup and and a few tins of sardines for sandwiches but I am.at hm now. Only ventured out on Saturday and today after 11 days. Will go for walks in the mornings and do stuff around the house. Costco over here were quick to introduce 1 toilet roll per member rule quickly cos it became stupid.
We have the Covid-19 virus here in our very small country of Gibraltar, only two active cases at this moment, however, we have been advised that this is going to go up, all people over the age of 70 are only allowed out of their homes for essential reasons, to shop if they have no one to shop for them, to go to the bank, again if there is no one to go for them, to attend a doctors appointment and a couple of other reasons, they are advised to isolate from any other members of the public, this is all so very scary. This virus is so bad in so many counties in the world Jia and we will be very lucky people if we escape it. I wish you good luck, stay safe and stay home xx
