- As we are off to Ferndale, my friends, a gateway to the Lost Coast - an undeveloped area with some epic views and one long, narrow, windy and full of potholes road. Ferndale itself feels like a hidden and unexpected jewel. It’s a town with some fantastic Victorian style elegant homes, called Butterfat Palaces. The entire town is registered as California Historical Landmark!

A quick update about driving our two-wheel Tesla Model 3 through the potholes of the Lost Coast drive: (I just rewatched the video, and want to make sure you guys don't take any advise from me when it comes to cars. :) At 7:59 I said that in spite of the constant potholes, it was "just fine" to drive with our car... Well, we recently had to replace one of the shock absorbers of the car. To be fair, we did quite a few more road trips after this one, and I did drive over a curb at some point recently... but I feel that this Lost Coast drive may have contributed to the damage.
The Lost Coast Drive is beautiful! Looking forward to visit it!
