When I first started playing.....Everything was pentatonic and it didn't really make sense to me...Then Malmsteen and all the shredders came along in the 80's and that was more "linear" in the approach that I could understand....Then along comes Wes Hauch and blows everything out of the water....It sounds so abstract but so beautiful....It's a whole 'nother level of musicianship.....
Wes Thrailkill, it would be cool to see you use a seven string. Given how most of your songs explore the entire range of the guitar, you’ll put it to very good use.
Wes has the best picking technique period. No wasted energy, no unnecessary movements. I aspire to achieve this level of technique every day, I've been re-learning guitar with proper technique (especially my picking chops) applied as much as possible and the changes after 15+ years of playing have been all positive. Have this dude to thank for the motivation to put a mountain on that plateau.
I know this is very old but this definitely isn’t his tone from in the room like when you’re just playing yours at home. This is mixed and mastered and has at least two guitar tracks panned left and right. He can EQ what frequencies he wants more or less of and attaches hi/low tilt filters, compressor, limiter, etc in the chain. Plus he’s boosting the amp to get it this tight sounding.
Him and Jason Richardson are definitely the cleanest and most technical players that are out there in the metal scene. Inspiring that humans can attain this level of skill on guitar xD
It's kinda sad that Wes doesn't post on youtube (I know he's more active on FB/Instagram but come on !) He got that tight and dark-themed yet so bluesy style of riffing/soloing, you just can't help but fall in love with his playing For me he's so inspiring, and he's just the best !
Totally inspiring. Talented Musician and innovative Guitarist. This piece is cool. Really edgy, yet melodic and his playing is clean, crisp, and articulate. Those Chords ! a lot of feeling to his playing. I wasn't big on this amp first time I heard it, then after a few quality demos it's got to be one of the best Amps out there. If you're not experienced at playing, you could hurt yourself.
@Wes Hauch I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone here that we'd love a Kemper profile of that tone brutha! Especially that Mesa Tc Amp, whew wee that thing smokes! Official Kemper and helix profiles coming soon I hope?
You have GOT to be kidding lol. Keene is washed up, dude prioritizes drugs over playing, the fans, being on time to his own gigs, etc etc. When I saw The Faceless live they were garbage. I mean don't get me wrong, Planetary Duality is one of my favorite metal albums of all-time. But The Faceless are done with.
It`s hardest metal on the Earth! Listening Alluvial 2-3 month. Trying to play this. Can only play Mirelands on 85 % speed. Anyway it gives me mystery!) Hope u`ll be more famous then Rammstein!))
Hey Wes, was just wondering whether you got that pickguard from Ibanez themselves or was it aftermarket? Looking at picking up this FR if I see one in the wild but fancy a way of getting around the active routing.
Wow man ! Nice prod... I have the unmodded version so with EMG707. Are you getting more clarity with the SDs ? I’m running through 5150iii with a Mesa flux drive. I find that for chord that I need to strum more than 3 strings, it’s kind of muddy...lack of clarity. Maybe an EQ question but...you might have some advice here. Keep the good work man !
Metalheadblues thanks buddy but I already have a couple of ESPs with 81 at the bridge and 85 at the neck. Though I’m not able to get the same accuracy with the 707 than my bridge 81. Not criticizing 707 I feel that it’s more similar to my 85. For lead it’s perfect.
Sick
Rob Scallon thanks dude!
O my do I smell a rob scallon Wes hauch collab???
Wes Hauch O my do I smell a rob scallon Wes hauch collab???

that tone is insane
Wes Thrailkill Dude! Your playing and tone is even better! I love your music man.
Wes Thrailkill, it would be cool to see you use a seven string. Given how most of your songs explore the entire range of the guitar, you’ll put it to very good use.
One of the cleanest players alive.. or ever.
Kevin Horne shame only a handful of people know about him
Incredible tone and playing as always! Thumbs up if you wanna see Wes rip through Gabrielle!
Yeah, this would be awesome!
Oh yes please 😢
Yes, please!
Yep
Seeing the Gojira shirt. Imagine Joe Duplatier singing on this.... Amazing playing Wes. Love that album so much.
I want that tone to sit on my face...
@DouglasQuade way to come in with your Line 6 Spider and shit on the party fart knocker.
@DouglasQuade I'd slap the shit out of you myself if the internet and this keyboard wasn't in the way
There’s more riffs in this song than most bands come up with in their whole careers.
Music Lover Yeah man I was literally just thinking he could’ve written a whole album out of the riffs in this track. This guy is god tier.
Ya don’t have to bash napalm deaths riffs like that

I aspire to achieve that level of action economy in my playing .
Taylor Littlefield, if I was a guitarist, I would too.
I aspire to stop economy and start spending millions in all sorts of things I do not need just because I want to do so
Wow. Putting 7-strings to good use. I *LOVE* the songwriting. Awesome.
and it still melts my face
I'm still coming back to this
Yup, still kicking ass
One of the sickest metal tones I’ve ever heard. I can’t even get my JP2C to sound quite this good.
I’m so glad you keep putting shit out! You’re seriously one of the best musicians we have in metal/guitar today. IMO
Him and Jason Richardson are definitely the cleanest and most technical players that are out there in the metal scene. Inspiring that humans can attain this level of skill on guitar xD
That solo has got to be one of my absolute favorites all time and I genuinely mean it. The album version sounds really great as does this.
I like listening to both its kinda cool hearing two different flows
I rewatch this video all the time. The tones you get with your triple crown are inspiring.
Top-tier. One of the essential guitarists of our time.
Man, i love you fkn tone, high gain yet smoothie, with no scooped mids. Damn!
Wes is simply the best metal guitarist on the scene right now.
You're my absolute favorite player and christ this just reinforces that
This is probably the best solo I have heard in modern-era metal...
No one person on this planet writes music like Wes!
That was insane. I love that album.
Dude amazing tunes, and your playing, c’mon man, buttery!
Man that tone is crushing! Love it
The girth on that tone... an absolute unit.
this goes so hard I had to go back and listen to the album version good times back in high school listening to this
You're my hero, dude. Outstanding as always!
Those pickups sound amazing!
Bad ass and right to the point. Great tune, awesome tone. More please
The world needs more Wes Haunchs to assult our ears with these heavy riffs. Phrasing on the solo is ridiculous
Please upload more videos to your channel. We love your playing, tone and music! :D
Sledge and scalpel hands. Mr Hauch is an incredible player! This video is a win for Mesa.
Dude you are one the best player alive today!!
I would love to see more videos from you
maaaaaaaaan, been waiting TOO LONG for a wes hauch vid
I just bought one of these amps and I love it, love Wes Hauchs playing, perfect combination, keep pushing the envelope brother 🤘
Perfection
This is the man dont you forget that 😊
It's kinda sad that Wes doesn't post on youtube (I know he's more active on FB/Instagram but come on !)
He got that tight and dark-themed yet so bluesy style of riffing/soloing, you just can't help but fall in love with his playing
For me he's so inspiring, and he's just the best !
Wes could get a better tone through a Black & Decker toaster than I could get out of a Mesa amp.
Just like to say Wes...you are inspiring a generation of metal guitarists with your awesome technique and chops
DAMN.......That was great guitar playing but your brain is even greater. Loved what you played. Thanks
jesus christ man, this is pure art. Greetings from Chile!!!
Wes you are dearly loved boyo

I bought the Alluvial tab book. It's currently in a glass case with "Break when ready" written on it.
Lmao I feel you. Ive got one as well.
Ive played one of these things,
Absolutely awesome.
Sick tone!
Your badass bro , fo sure . Notched at the top 🎸
nice playthrough!
Love your videos Wes, you're truly an inspiration! Keep rippin 🤘🔥
The master draws with bold strokes
Totally inspiring. Talented Musician and innovative Guitarist. This piece is cool. Really edgy, yet melodic and his playing is clean, crisp, and articulate. Great guitar
A pleasure to watch as always.
@Wes Hauch
I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone here that we'd love a Kemper profile of that tone brutha! Especially that Mesa Tc Amp, whew wee that thing smokes! Official Kemper and helix profiles coming soon I hope?
Sick skill, nice video :)
Should we get you a prescription to buy antibiotics?
Loved how you use reverb for lead sounds.
best song from alluvial
Insane playing!!!
That gain is throaty. Like a super gainy and tight jcm almost
Wes is back !!!!
2021...this video still fkn rules !
I didn't think a Triple Crown could sound that great.....
Impeccable!
Damn this is sick. Gotta bust out my Sheet Happens book and start practicing
The best (technical) modern metal guitarist along with Keene. All aspects!
But The Faceless are done with.
nice wes!!!
Maaaaan its a new Wes video!!! Fuckin stoked!!
Jus downrite badass brother✌️
So sick. Finally a proper tc-100 demo. Was this boosted?
Fuderoso!!!
That Blue Channel is where I spend a lot of my high gain time with my own TC
Hey @wes, where did you get the pickguard for the FRIX7FEAH Ibanez model?! I can’t find it anywhere and want one like this!!!!
Hy WES HAUCH ,
I was wondering who played in the amazing Duncan Custom 7' s clip ; I think it was you , fantastic and inspirational !
amazing wes :)
The best in the world
Man.... THAT was bad ass !
It`s hardest metal on the Earth! Listening Alluvial 2-3 month. Trying to play this. Can only play Mirelands on 85 % speed. Anyway it gives me mystery!) Hope u`ll be more famous then Rammstein!))
Fuck yeah dude! Why does your technique have to be soo good?? Looks awesome!
Nice
I see your colors... and I ain't runnin. Hospitable
Master Blaster!!!
Hey Wes, was just wondering whether you got that pickguard from Ibanez themselves or was it aftermarket? Looking at picking up this FR if I see one in the wild but fancy a way of getting around the active routing.
Yo, this shit was muddy... Awesome as always Wes, cannot wait until your next endeavor, cause we just can't get enough of your solos.
Filming on this demo is awesome! Nothing can match the playing though...
I want a Gabrielle play through please!!!😖😖
How can we find the tabs
Man question... 3 watts for home? Is it goog for bedroom?
What are the pedals on top of the amp?
Wes, could we have the guitar DI tracks? ^_^
Denis Lachance EMG's aren't known for there clarity this coming from someone who uses them. Distorted chords will sound muddy
Jesus if I love these riffs
Is the band around the fret nut to help fret buzz?
Jonathan-Emily Powell yes!
It’s also used to help not hitting unwanted notes when doing solos in the studio
I wish I could play half as well as you
DUDE!!!!!!!!!!
Ludwig Colindres dude plus 1
phenomenal. super fucking dark shit i love it
Jesus.....
Yeah dem tonzs are great but DEM SKILLZ
