    It would be cool if the outposts looked different. A science outpost having research facilities and laboratories. While a military outpost would have barracks, an armory, and a open area with militiamen doing drills with a drill sergeant yelling at them.

    For the people being annoyed at why you are only allowed to choose which outpost will be built once, you gotta listen to what SAM said before you choose the outpost type. SAM said that as resources are at a crisis point protocol falls on the Pathfinder. That means that once things starts being more stable the type of outposts to be built on the other planets will be up to the Nexus.

      Except the Nexus leadership is wholly divided on what to do. for example, let's say you got the green to set up an outpost on Kadara, Tann will want an outpost model that will not be so easy for the exiles to push around while Addison would want to avoid having an outpost that could escalate tensions on the planet

      @Hit Kid Sorry but no. That's a fucking cop out. If they can make a 600+ year journey with resources they can make both a Military and Science outpost. They just didn't want to put better story. This is exactly like ME3 and the whole tactical table that didn't make a difference in the long run. What's the point of mining resources then?

    • @toomanyaccounts

      @@joshgodwin3742 in places like Antarctica and the Artic Circle you have military or science bases. the military may have some science facilities but that isn't the goal its military first and foremost. the science bases have some security namely for wildlife, keeping order since sometimes people go nutty do to the environment but research is the goal first and foremost.

    I know everyone likes giving the game shit, but moments like these left me in silent retrospection. I chose Military because it HAD to be military. When you find out the Kett have an entire EMPIRE behind them? They're not the Reapers, they're a living, breathing complex society.. That happens to believe in forcing "Inferior" races to become Kett by removing everything you are except the useful bits, and those they can't exalt they enslave. If i had to compare them something... The Borg from Star Trek. The Primus is still a threat, the Kett are still a threat. Speaking of Kett.... Every Empire needs an Emperor, right?

      +CONSTINTINE1 In your opinion it did. It is in no way factually bad. If it was, nobody would like it. I like it. My friends liked it. Alot of people watching liked it. Could it have been better? Of course. Is it the best Mass Effect game? Probably not. But it doesn't make it a bad game. I've had a blast and I still am with my New Game Plus playthrough on Insanity. With all the bugs fixed, I'd give it an 8/10. 7/10 in it's current state.

    • @levidoyle3411

      that's still a subjective opinion. Some people had fun with it, some people didn't. I enjoyed my first play-through in spite of the games faults. Sorry if you didn't, though I can understand why, but a lot of people not liking it doesn't change the definition of the words "subjective" and "opinion". It was an unpolished game that had some good potential. A rushed release, EAs lack luster management as a publisher, and poor design choices/policies led to many of the flaws in this title. In the end even that is just an opinion. At the end of the day atleast it isn't Shaq-fu.

      That's kinda ironic, considering you are the one following the opinions of other people like a brain-washed zombie.
      It saddens me that you follow such an assumption that Andromeda is the trash that everyone talks about, but I respect that not everyone will like the game (whether they genuinely do or not), and if you are remotely a decent human being, you should understand that not everyone in the world shares the same opinion as you, and so naturally not everyone will agree with you (Eg: me).
      What makes me even more confused is the fact that you spend your time looking at content you hate (in this case, Mass Effect Andromeda) instead of doing something you would enjoy - such as jerking off. In other words, get the fuck out of here if you don't like the game.
      Let people who enjoy the game discuss it in peace, and you are free to ignore Andromeda's existence instead of clinging onto it.

      We could have used two previous bases for whatever purposes this outpost wasn't going to serve, but... apparently we're so stretched on resources that not only we can have both, we also can't repair already functioning bases:(

    • @tron9683
      @tron9683 7 років тому +3

      The ground underneath the other two bases is completely unstable. Had it not been for the kett attacking first, the people at those bases would've to deal with the ground collapsing under them at some point, as shown with at least two of their buildings already in a sinkhole.

      any explanation on how this might have even happened or been a serious problem? It's not like we can scan for a mineral deposits from half a system away and such mistake during outpost placement would have never been done, right? Or that a simple sinkhole sounds as a pathetic excuse when people are going around having toothbrushes that work by manipulating gravity...

    • @tron9683

      I forget how, but it's explained at some point while you're exploring that area. It's a part of why a pathfinder and their SAM is so important, as they would've caught the issue before they began settling the area.

      just face it, it makes no sense. To claim that when they had no resources to spare no one had checked such a simple factor and then no one had gone there to recover all the tech and materials after you had founded Prodromos on location that was far less inviting then #1 and #2 before Vault activated. You even find a perfectly equipped lab there.

    I dont get it... why do you determine what kind of outpost this one in particular is, but not the rest of them?

    • @JerkyMurky
      @JerkyMurky 7 років тому +3

      It just doesn't make sense. They did this thing in Inquisition too where they said before he game came out that each of the outposts you take you would determine if it was military, or trading, or like a cultural center... But you never did it, they took it away before launch. Then in meA they basically say IN THE GAME, "you get to determine what kind of Outpost it will be." And you do it once, never again, and even then it changes nothing about what happens for the rest of the game! Like, at least if they let you choose make it so like the kett have less of a presence on the planet, or if you do science you get reaserch points every few minuets or something... Change something!
      I started playing through ME1 again right when I finished this polished turd and I was sitting in the menu and the original trailer starts to play and Shepard says "many choices lie ahead, none of them easy." Well at least in that game my choices had SOME weight, until they only gave me an option for three endings...

    I get it, okay? The first outpost you establish on Eos symbolizes a lot of things. My gut told me to choose military because of the persistent Kett presence. But instead, I chose a scientific outpost because, more than anything, we were there to explore and discover and research. But after Eos, I thought we would be able to establish military or scientific outposts based on what was going on in the world. But no. That's not the case. Whatever you choose on Eos, THAT'S the kind of outpost you get on the rest of the worlds. You can't set up a scientific outpost on Eos, and a military outpost on Voeld. NO! WHATEVER TYPE YOU CHOOSE ON EOS, THAT'S WHAT YOU FUCKING GET FOR THE REST. This is LAZY! it's bullshit! I could have sworn that when BioWare was advertising this game, they said that you would be able to choose the kinds of outposts you wanted for different worlds, and that in turn would affect the gameplay. This was either piss poor communication and advertising at best. A fucking lie at worst. With that being said, I still like this game. It's still fun. I've always loved the Mass Effect series. But GODDAMN BioWare. Some of you deserve a good "FUCK YOU" for this bullshit.

    ...why did we only get to choose the outpost type for this ONE AND ONLY place?! why not the only 5 outpost sites?!...this game is more fucked than a prostitute in summer

    It seriously annoyed me how often the decisions were black and white. I can't believe the number of times I came up with a better decision than either of the two offered, typically before I'd finished reading the options. I mean really guys, just a black-and-white "Science or Military?" Yeah, that's not how this would work. At all.

      in the early, SAM said that the NEXUS was in crisis, hence the decision was placed on Pathfinder.
      After Prodromos, things get better, the decision is made by Nexus, not Ryder

    I did Science because politics. It didn't matter gameplaywise (the game was made by SJW hipsters, always keep in mind that), but felt good inside a little.
