It would be cool if the outposts looked different. A science outpost having research facilities and laboratories. While a military outpost would have barracks, an armory, and a open area with militiamen doing drills with a drill sergeant yelling at them.
For the people being annoyed at why you are only allowed to choose which outpost will be built once, you gotta listen to what SAM said before you choose the outpost type. SAM said that as resources are at a crisis point protocol falls on the Pathfinder. That means that once things starts being more stable the type of outposts to be built on the other planets will be up to the Nexus.

Except the Nexus leadership is wholly divided on what to do. for example, let's say you got the green to set up an outpost on Kadara, Tann will want an outpost model that will not be so easy for the exiles to push around while Addison would want to avoid having an outpost that could escalate tensions on the planet

@@joshgodwin3742 in places like Antarctica and the Artic Circle you have military or science bases. the military may have some science facilities but that isn't the goal its military first and foremost. the science bases have some security namely for wildlife, keeping order since sometimes people go nutty do to the environment but research is the goal first and foremost.

When you find out the Kett have an entire EMPIRE behind them? They're not the Reapers, they're a living, breathing complex society.. That happens to believe in forcing "Inferior" races to become Kett by removing everything you are except the useful bits, and those they can't exalt they enslave. If i had to compare them something... The Borg from Star Trek. The Primus is still a threat, the Kett are still a threat. Speaking of Kett.... Every Empire needs an Emperor, right?

With all the bugs fixed, I'd give it an 8/10. 7/10 in it's current state.
that's still a subjective opinion. Some people had fun with it, some people didn't. I enjoyed my first play-through in spite of the games faults. Sorry if you didn't, though I can understand why, but a lot of people not liking it doesn't change the definition of the words "subjective" and "opinion". It was an unpolished game that had some good potential. A rushed release, EAs lack luster management as a publisher, and poor design choices/policies led to many of the flaws in this title. In the end even that is just an opinion. At the end of the day atleast it isn't Shaq-fu.

When i made it scientific i THOUGHT i would be able to choose for each outpost. It does not make it clear that from this decision every outpost would be exactly the same with no choice involved. Bioware gtfo.

I figured with all of the threats on Eos just "maybe" military outpost was a good idea. I'm level 43 and more than half way through the game and I'm still getting shit out about the decision....(sigh)
There are already two other sites on Eos though, now that the atmosphere was scrubbed and the Kett were dealt with a little, they could've just sent the Science people to occupy the other sites as well, get them back up and running.

@@ConnorLonergan it makes the planet habitable. It doesn't shift continental plates. There is a limit. If it shifted plates then the entire planet would need to be evacuated until it was done. Think Star Trek 3: Search for Spock. The Genesis planet became unstable because the land masses were in flux.
We could have used two previous bases for whatever purposes this outpost wasn't going to serve, but... apparently we're so stretched on resources that not only we can have both, we also can't repair already functioning bases:(
The ground underneath the other two bases is completely unstable. Had it not been for the kett attacking first, the people at those bases would've to deal with the ground collapsing under them at some point, as shown with at least two of their buildings already in a sinkhole.

It's not like we can scan for a mineral deposits from half a system away and such mistake during outpost placement would have never been done, right? Or that a simple sinkhole sounds as a pathetic excuse when people are going around having toothbrushes that work by manipulating gravity...
I forget how, but it's explained at some point while you're exploring that area. It's a part of why a pathfinder and their SAM is so important, as they would've caught the issue before they began settling the area.

To claim that when they had no resources to spare no one had checked such a simple factor and then no one had gone there to recover all the tech and materials after you had founded Prodromos on location that was far less inviting then #1 and #2 before Vault activated. You even find a perfectly equipped lab there.

It just doesn't make sense. They did this thing in Inquisition too where they said before he game came out that each of the outposts you take you would determine if it was military, or trading, or like a cultural center... But you never did it, they took it away before launch. Then in meA they basically say IN THE GAME, "you get to determine what kind of Outpost it will be." And you do it once, never again, and even then it changes nothing about what happens for the rest of the game! Like, at least if they let you choose make it so like the kett have less of a presence on the planet, or if you do science you get reaserch points every few minuets or something... Change something! I started playing through ME1 again right when I finished this polished turd and I was sitting in the menu and the original trailer starts to play and Shepard says "many choices lie ahead, none of them easy." Well at least in that game my choices had SOME weight, until they only gave me an option for three endings...

Correct. Later, Ryder may talk to invited Angara on the Nexus. Some Angara are very catious about a military outpost and don't like it. HAving a sciene outpost smooth diplomacy with the angara. That's all i know
It would have made a lot more sense if they had said you could do both, but what you choose to focus on will have lasting political impacts on any races we meet. I.E. If you pick military than every time you meet a new race and they see your first outpost was mostly military it would make them less trusting if you told them you were just exploring.
Not sure if you get to choose ever again... So far I've completed Havarl and Eladen. On Havarl you don't make an outpost and on Eladen you can't choose what the outpost is

Well spoilers for his loyalty mission, podromos and Bradley show up and they have engineers going through and helping take care of stuff as you go through. I imaged this was because I chose science.

I can't believe the number of times I came up with a better decision than either of the two offered, typically before I'd finished reading the options. I mean really guys, just a black-and-white "Science or Military?" Yeah, that's not how this would work. At all.
in the early, SAM said that the NEXUS was in crisis, hence the decision was placed on Pathfinder. After Prodromos, things get better, the decision is made by Nexus, not Ryder

Mik Moen The other sites are on fault lines. They aren't viable because they would be destroyed in a couple years.

A bit of a spoiler but if you make Podromos military it helps you out at the end of the game. Regardless I always choose science.

You should be able to choose what percentage the outpost is. Like 50% military and 50% science. Or 75% military and 25% science.

Well spoilers for his loyalty mission, podromos and Bradley show up and they have engineers going through and helping take care of stuff as you go through. I imaged this was because I chose science.

It seriously annoyed me how often the decisions were black and white. I can't believe the number of times I came up with a better decision than either of the two offered, typically before I'd finished reading the options. I mean really guys, just a black-and-white "Science or Military?" Yeah, that's not how this would work. At all.
