As always thanks so much for watching, this was one for the books. ALSO because of you guys we just hit 30 K! You guys are amazing and we love making videos for you. If you're new to the channel or have not subscribed, consider subscribing so you can stay locked-in like Matt with his back paddles. See you on the next one.
Great trip what drainage is this?
Your hobby.......making river adventure videos. My hobby......watching your hobby.
Such a rattling moment. Loved the teamwork and you guys are troopers! Jan's MacGyver kayak was amazing. Beautiful specks and really enjoyed the careful handling. Great vid!
Thanks Jon, hope you've been getting into the trout up north
As a kayaker I'm very impressed by Jan's ingenuity and willingness to improvise and also yours and Matt's mad skills on that last run. Will never fathom how tandem paddlers do it. Glad you and your vessel pulled through unscathed; looking forward, as always, to your next one!
Maybe a good idea to paint a ruler on side of your canoe where you could measure the fish you catch!!!!
If ever there was an advert for having floatation airbags in the bow and stern of your canoe, this is it. Tying your gear in isn’t always necessary but in this situation if it had been tied in then the water wouldn’t have had the same effect on the canoe.
Love the blue Walmart tarp spray skirt! Epic!
Those were some boney rapids, I could see anyone getting pinned in there. Awsome work getting it out, we can all learn a ton from this - I thought it was super cool how Jan made it happen with his DIY Kayak. That rapids set at the end was really sick! Awesome video and great edit, my brother and I really enjoyed watching it tonight
Thanks Xander, score one for Jan's ingenuity
Trout fishing is the best the Colors on a trout are so vibrant and clean probably one of my favourite species to fish for I also do UA-cam but I am just 14 year old kid I do my best but i really enjoy your content 🙂
Keep doing what you love to do man. Nice Stripers!
therre is just something magical about the sound of spring peepers at dusk......
They are my favourite sound!
Very nice great from Germany. I love your videos. I miss Kanada.
If you guys would stop sinking the canoes you would get down the river way faster.
Gee you guys are getting Spring down where you are. Where I am, close to the Rockies, we still have snow....everywhere.... so it's really nice watching these canoe trips you do.
That was indeed an absolutely great trip. Camera work was incredible and solid generation and the scenery and the skill at which turned that boat around just left me speechless. Thank you so much.
Friendly tip from a fellow paddler. Tie your painter lines to the grab loops. A better place to be applying those kinds of forces.
Passing on what I've learned along the way.
You guys rock 🤘
Thanks Tooze, that's good advice
Way to keep your heads and work together, boys!
So awesome. I was sitting on the edge of my chair and I think I might have felt water splashing in my face! The swamped canoe gave me so anxious moments but you solved the problem remarkable
Suggestion. Carry a sponge to get the water out.
No weight to the sponge!!!
Your channel is absolutely killing it. Some of the best content available! What river was this?
Such an innocuous looking rapid. You wouldn't think you could get pinned there!
15:42 ‘we’re good!’ Awesome work Noah. Cool head, accept the situation, move on. Another great video 👍
You may know this already, But mastering the "double haul" cast is essential for throwing streamers in the wind! In high wind I'll use a double haul side cast combo to keep the line and fly low to the water and out of the wind.
man def getting the most of your money with the canyons pinned ,wrapped ,ground out bottom and the things just keep performing it's the AK-47 of canoes bet ya sales are up thanks to your vids another good one by the way keep up the excellent work guys
Thx guys 😊
Beautiful whitewater runs. I would still be there throwing flies. So much water to fish. But covering ground just takes over!
Whoa!!! That was some whitewater gentleman 👏 What a blast despite the ups and downs and thanks as always for sharing your adventures 🙂
Another awesome video! Always looking for your next adventure! As always thanks for sharing. Also congratulations on 30,000 looking forward to your march to 50,000!
Rick From Virginia
Thanks Rick
So impressed with the easy camaraderie and vibe you guys have going on. You seem at ease with each other, comfortable and capable under duress (clearly!). So much to love about this story. Gotta say, it's been some time since I strung my hammock up i the wild and enjoyed a good campfire meal. Watching this just makes me eager to get out there in my new home of Australia and check out it's outdoors. Thanks for sharing!
That Canyon's been through a lot!!
You know it's near the end when the window boards come out 😢👍🍻
Great trip, great filming, great storytelling, great chemistry. All in all amazing adventure! Thank you
Gotta love those rec kayaks-they work better than they should on trips like this.
Super video guys. Well done. Thanks again for not mentioning where you were.
Wow what a fun adventure with rhe boys. Nice rapids, a little bit of trouble. And nice weather.
Just so you know, I am sitting here drinking some pink whitney watching this episode. I can’t wait to get out to my cabin out in James Bay. My advice when you pin, lift the boat on the current side as the current will help lift the canoe. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🚣🏿🚣🏿🚣🏿🚣🏿🚣🏿
Just got home from a 16 hour day, this is my decompress video!
That was the best video I have watched ,Love all the instruction for paddling white after and lining rapids
Nice job getting out of that jam with the canoe. Those specks were awesome. I love the way you handle and release your fish. Excellent job. Thanks 🇨🇦👍
That was a remarkably awesome experience. I think I actually felt some water spray on my face when I was viewing on my chair. The swamped canoe made me a bit anxious but I knew you would turn that situation into a learning experience. Thanks for the continued beautifully video editing and soundtracks as well.
Nice rips! good paddeling! I'd be frustrated sometimes too haha! nice fish '
Just watched this. Awesome adventure! I got myself a Pocket Canyon a few months ago and I’m anxious for spring rains to bring the water up. Nice to see a real world demonstration of the ruggedness of the Esquif T-Formex👍
best episode yet, guys. as soon as you got hung up at 15:25 or so it definitely started to look like a hairy moment pinned between all of those rocks like that. glad y'all made it out without too much damage. congrats on the 30k, here's to 30k more!
Another good vid boys, time on the river with your buddies, sun on your face & some fish!....what more can you ask?
Very much enjoyed watching. Nice to see when catching trout that you are not going to eat you leave them in the water to be released.
Agreed. This is one of the best. Looked like a fun river with the right amount of challenging runs. The only way to improve your skills is to challenge yourself. Big trout on this river too, the combination you hope for out of a memorable trip. Oh, not to mention the excellent crew, most resourceful yet! Thanks Again!😃
Great trip ! The time on the water is never a wasted time (translate from a old french song ) it’s always a gift when your new adventure coming up.
Holy jeez! Pinning the canoe and losing gear...precisely why I hike instead 😄 well...that and a shoulder injury from a storm on a trip on Opeongo 😜
Better than any regular TV show!
Thanks guys. Another awesome video 👊👊👊
Am thinking your Go-Pro took a beating ! Some monster fish...I'll be honest, I was in tears w/Jan's kayak...
Is that the same brand of canoe you used in Labrador. Seems indestructible. Thanks for sharing
Hope I'm not out of line answering on their behalves. Just love sharing canoe knowledge. Yes, same boat. Esquif Canyon, and they can certainly take a beating!
Thank you, you guys are the best !!
I can't decide if float bags would have saved the boat from being swamped, can you put bags in and go back, try it again and let us know what happened? For science.
if they were going faster and the man in the back kept the canoe in the fast water, they would have bumped on through, thank God for kevlar
@@kevimc Canoe is made of T-Formex, a high tech ABS plastic laminate.
Holy crap! Nova Craft canoes are really good. Great you made it out guys! Thanks for sharing
Esquif Canyon, The ! river Truck
Drybags are so worth investing in.
it is so different today watching the city dwellers walk down the rapids, when us older fellows used to run, speed going through, staying in the fast current, the guy in the front picking the route and stroking for speed, the guy in the back keeping the canoe straight in the river, and you tried not to upset the canoe, everything was tied in, it was a lot of fun
Epic runs at the end there!! Glad you faired well when you guys got pinned, those canoes are incredible! All in all a great video, oh and amazing fish too!!
Glad you guys got out of that mess. I've been stuck a couple of times. Not fun. I once read that a 17' canoe filled with water weighs close to 2 thousand pounds. I believe it.
Great skill and team work enjoyed this one
Yay perfect timing! Just finished work and I'm in the middle of dinner
Always a joy and a pleasure.! Thank you for sharing.! Thumbs Up.!
wooohoooo, Noah your the BOSS!! Beautiful, exciting and what a ride!!
the rivers are alive with the sound of music, lol
Your paddling partner with the blue helmet is great!
That homemade spray deck was pretty awesome. Jan is a smart guy!
For trips like this you should totally get a 360 camera! The multiple angles would be amazing
Wow ! It's gonna be hard to top that trip. That was awesome 👌
Thanks man - another great one. Congrats on that trout.
You guys are the best. Great adventure and great production. And the music choices are super.
Great footage. I love how you left the "real" parts of canoe tripping in it. What great memories and even better tripping partners.
Great video. Love the spring fishing runs. I know that spot you swamped her, scouted it before and said Nope and bushwhacked around it. LOL.
What a amazing video. Glad everything turned out alright. Very powerful paddling and clever kayak maneuvers. I’ve wrapped my kayak on a down tree root in the river. You learn by mistakes. Thanks for sharing this. Things don’t always go as planned.😘
Another great video. Thank you. Beautiful trout. Congratulations on two personal bestsfor N.S. brookies for you guys.
Calm and collected in when bad S*&T happens is the way to do bro. Another great trip boys
Wow that was intense. Nice fish.
Looks like time to lash gear in the boat. It displaces water. And protects against wraps. Also learn the Z-drag for rope pulling power.
Great! Just great! Lots of thrills and bumps! Well done. Thanks for that, Noah and team.
Just got one word "AWESOME" thanks for posting!!
Great episode! And even better trout fishing congrats on the PBs!!!
I laughed, I cried........but that has nothing to do with the video. 😃
She was a pretty chunky fish you got there, and I really hope your canoe is still structurally sound with that big mush in it.
And you guys gotta start including a music list.
Quite an adventure, guys. Great watch! Thanks for filming your trip!
Wow! What an awesome trip! Had no idea Nova Scotia had such amazing rivers.
Love how you present your trips. The views are always spectacular. Great appreciation for taking the time to explain your thought process on the different aspects.
You guys did well. Jon you made that kayak do the job that splash cover was amazing. I’ve really enjoyed watching your trip. Thanks again. Cheers from Ontario.🇨🇦👍
Another EPIC Adventure!! Would be nice to see you guys up in New Brunswick to run the Nepisiguit River from Mount Carleton to Bathurst, I'm sure you'd love it!! See ya on the next one!
Your trips are amazing ..... !
Great trip fellas, glad to see you pull through. Some beautiful Specks too
Great trip, beauty fish and a well deserved 30k.
One hell of a finale!!
Great video thank u I love April as well
Awesome...you gotta try the Sutton River in Northern Ontario...brookies like you have never seen before.
Okay so I'm late to the party on this one. But I've got to say I usually paddle whitewater solo, but if I had to take someone in my canoe, there's a seat for Matt in my boat any day. That was fantastic paddling, and Noah did good too, lol.
One query though, should you not tie the bow and stern ropes to the end loops? I've seen deck plates ripped off when you try to pull a boat in a pin situation.
Thank you for the kind words!
Awesome
OMG, I thought the canoe was done for. Great team work you guys, hard position to get out of, that is one tough canoe! What beautiful fish, yum! Thanks for sharing. :) :)
Another gem of a trip!
Great video as usual Noah. Glad to see the Canyon made it out okay. Question for you: why don't you tie your gear to the thwartsof the boat so that if you dump or pin, it doesn't go down the river and you can just untie it and throw it up onto shore? It definitely takes a bit more time, like a few minutes extra, but after having lost some gear or taking a long swim or paddle to go find it, I always tie in now. Keep up the great work love your videos.
Just had to watch this again! Amazing!
Excellent video boys... few giant's
More excellent stuff, Thanks guys!
I don’t normally put sugar in my oatmeal, but when I do, it’s in soggy Oreo form.
Keep it up! Your videos are inspiring and entertaining. Thank you :)
