more great detailed comments, best review of these Yamaha bikes on YT! thanks for taking the time and effort to post, amazing miles considering your fast pace and elevation gain...also how do feel the Cross Core 27.5 compares with the 29 wheels and tires on the Wabash and would the CC on the same single track/mtb trail you rode (darn fast!) on the Wabash perform as well? which bike would you consider to be more versatile
Thanks! I can take it on the trail. The CC would do it for sure. With the fork travel being so limited, I would probably just lock it out. It did occur to me that I haven’t tried firming it up yet. There is an adjustment for that. I’ll give it a go and see what happens.
As for versatility I’d say the wabash is more versatile. Choosing between them would be tough, but I’d say comfort wise the CC before the wabash. Performance wise I’d jump on the wabash. It is a much more aggressive riding posture and feel, which is more ideal for getting a good workout in. In short if I’m looking for a chill ride Crosscore if I am looking for an aggressive ride Wabash.
That's encouraging on the battery. Appreciate your channel !
Thanks! Yeah I was pretty stoked way more range than what I can ride in a day.
Since you have a large Wabash and Crosscore, would you please compare and contrast the frames with measurements? I suspect they're the same except paint, but some say the head tubes differ.
I can and will. I suspect the same. Update: just looking at their site there are some slight differences between the two called out in the measurements. I can still try and confirm in person.
I keep hearing about the batteries coming undone. It's never happened to my Wabash but mine does open completely by just turning the key. I decided to fix it just now by slightly bending up that stainless steel piece. I suspect Yamaha will issue a recall cause it's dangerous if both problems are present. I used to work on their motorcycles and waverunners and did a ton of recall work. EDIT: I don't mean they had a ton of recalls. I ton of units for one particular recall. Yamahas were outstanding.
I’m not sure what Yamaha will do about it. I assume they know. No way I have two bikes with the same problem and it’s unique only to me. I’m not going to pursue it though. I’ll find a secure strap and wrap it easy peasy.
Have you played around with the dampening settings on the forks yet ? I know they are limited but as a newbie I would appreciate some input. I too am 6ft 200lbs ish. Thank you !
@@Hisway1151 just messed with it. About 14 clicks worth of adjustment. I’ll probably ride at 7 clicks and see what shakes out. In the vids up to now I was 1-2 clicks.
@@InfiniteMishaps Thanks 👍👍
