  • Welcome back for the sound demo. These are just for fun and to go over my thoughts on the speakers.
    Thanks for watching.

Really enjoy your videos - they are thorough and down to earth, insightful and very practical. I like how you start with the box/opening, examining the product comprehensively, tearing it down, and then eventually moving to your sound test, comparisons and your concluding impressions. Its all done in a believable and authentic manner; I think at times, you're doing exactly what we imagine ourselves doing, when we buy a product and wonder if it was a good value. Even love it when your little girl visits and asks questions about what you're doing. That's why I subscribed to your channel recently. I watch Z Reviews and many of the others; they are in their own way very good but your channel/videos are special. Keep up the great work.
The other aspect of your channel that a lot of your subscribers appreciate is that we can relate to your purchases. We love high quality audio but don't necessarily have the means to fork out thousands of dollars for esoteric equipment in order to experience incremental/marginal improvements in sound quality. I'm part of the "how can I get the most out of a stereo set up, for under $500?", crowd. I have a pair of those Sonys, as well as the Pioneer BS22s. Now, because of your videos, I am seriously thinking about getting a set of DMCs.
Of all of the sub-$100 speaker pairs that I have (I bought the Sony and Pioneer for less than $100), the hands-down best pair I have are the Fluance SX6. Occasionally , they come down to about $80/pr. I'd be interested to know what you think of those. Thanks again, for all the great work you do.

What really makes me curious, is what is that very nice song, little like Ray Charles style that plays on the background when you speak at the end. Would you know what it is ?

We ended up buying Polk t15s way back in like 2014 or so because they sounded best at the Best Buy demo. Now I know, it was just because those were much louder/more efficient than the rest, but even these, which seemed a boring speaker in that demo, are far better than those, in fact, they sound absolutely fantastic through my sony professional 7506 headphones, which are not as overly bass heavy as other headphones in the same price range. I heard a good balance between bass and treble, and they sound like they would be extremely impressive in a home theater system.

It’s funny that the model number has BS in it!😂
I can’t wait to set these up for my father with a nice Yamaha amp and a Klipsch 8” powered sub. Crossover the sub around 100hz and rock out.
Probably the best $100 I’ve didn’t in years. I have single replacement tweeters that cost more.

Hey man what kind of amp would I need to drive them to their max capability ?

Really any old reciever should have plenty of power or even many of these little class D amps coming out of China that can push 50x2 watts or more will do it.

They need 40-60rms of clean power to realize their potential. Give them at least 35rms of clean power from a well designed/made amp/receiver!
P.s. I’m aware you asked three years ago. Lol.

How do they compare to the sony SSCS5's in overall sound quality? Also you should pick up a pair of the Cerwin-Vega SL-5M when you get the chance, I hear they have really good bass for speakers their size and price range.

The Sony CS5 are my top affordable bookshelf speaker. The Pioneer BS22 are very good to but their smaller 4" woofer can't keep up with the CS5's larger 5" woofer. I listen to music fairly loud sometimes and the BS22 tend to get overwhelmed when I have Linkin Park cranked. I also find the CS5 more musical and enjoyable accross many music genres. Its not necessarily a fair fight but they exist in the same price range so it is, what it is I guess. These two speakers have been getting a lot of interest I may just do a a/b comparison.
